Just joined. Summer food is easier with seasonal fruits and vegetables, but my social life includes too many happy hour calories on weekends. Weigh in on Monday should help with motivation.

Started 0 to 10k program for November run today and saw this thread. Coincidence? I think not.

Add in strength training exercise to your cardio. Look up workouts that use your body weight with planks, squats, etc. You don't need a gym BUT consulting a personal trainer can make a huge difference. To torch calories and build muscle, you have to do more than walk.

It has been a long time since I set up my goals so I don't remember TDEE whatever. I do remember that I said sedentary because I have a desk job, and it said I would use about 1900 calories to maintain my weight. I took off 500 per day to lose about a pound a week, so that means 1400 calories per day. I do 4 mini meals of…

You are on a community board to get ideas, support, and encouragement, not professional advice. My two cents: because stress and anxiety are preventing you from happily eating to nurture yourself, do something to relieve the stress and anxiety. I don't mean a therapist's couch or drugs - what about yoga, meditation,…

Your post says doesn't say anything about exercise - obviously, if you add in some walking or whatever you like to do, you will burn calories so you don't have to be so restrictive about what you eat. Come up with combinations of protein and good quality carb's that will keep you satisfied. I aim for 1400 calories per day, but I go with 4 mini meals of 350 each, because I swear I never get hungry…

To reduce embarrassing effects, add your veggie and higher fiber foods more gradually - increase servings per week instead of hitting all recommended amounts on day 1. Continue using Beano with the foods you find the worst offenders. It really does work and you can imagine how much worse things would be without it! Also,…

First, you do need to do the research to find out where all of your calories are coming from. Look up the calorie counts of the foods you eat most often and be honest about the size of your portions. For example, for me, a box of Triscuits is two servings, one today and one tomorrow. So that is about 600-700 calories in…

My husband supports all of the changes I am making and is my greatest cheerleader for weight loss - but definitely has limits regarding what changes can affect him. He enjoys dinner salads but draws the line at any vegan or vegetarian meals - and it is simply easier to eat a lot more food for fewer calories when most are…
