@LivingtheLeanDream I think there may be slightly more to it than that. Hormones definitely also play a role, having a huge influence on whether you can actually maintain what you're doing. If you are constantly eating really low calorie foods, but never actually feeling full, eventually you are going to snap because your…

I've always heard that a pound is 3,500 kcal?
-
@Msalicia07 I would often go over my kcal by only 500 but would put on 2-3lbs!
-
I totally agree - I'm not trying to get back anywhere near to where I was as a teen! I used to be absolutely tiny - those shorts were a size 6!!! (Excuse the drunken mess I was at 18) This is my current progress with 19lbs lost, I think you are right; I'm aiming for around 35lbs lost - so only 16 more to go!
-
Thank you so much sand_tiger and manderson27! I am so happy!
-
Hi nexangelus - I definitely am eating at a calorie deficit, that's true! I just have realised that eating a small amount of calories spread throughout the day is much harder on my body than eating a small amount of calories all in one go so I feel full :)
-
You look phenomenal - well done on such a huge loss!
-
Totally heroic and very inspiring! Exercise is my biggest fear, I'm awful at anything that requires dedication :| but in the build up to the summer I aim to start getting at least mildly active! and you've made me want to get my *kitten* in gear which never happens - so thank you!!! And congrats xx
-
Also - a little bit of additional advice - it's worth getting a heart rate monitor so that you know how many calories you're actually burning, and a pedometer to make sure you're walking enough. Plus it's really important to fill out your profile, set yourself mini goals, and take 'before' photos and 'before' measurements…

Three months is totally doable!! I wish you all the best :) keep working hard and remember to stay focused :) The hardest part will be managing your weight after the big day and keeping it off, but for now just enjoy the process of building your new body! good luck xx

Congratulations on your engagement!! I hope the wedding is beautiful and the marriage is happy :) Three weeks isn't really long enough for the gradual kind of weight loss that really stays off, but I think it's long enough to drop one dress size if you really really work hard and limit yourself to 1,200 net calories! Try…

that's a great loss!!!
-
Love these goals!! I might adopt them, but at the moment it seems unrealistic as I'm no stronger than a three year old!
-
5'3 and my goal is 114, but I'm naturally very little with a tiny rib cage/hands/feet. I think body fat percentage is a better thing to aim for :) I'm aiming for 20% body fat :) Good luck with your journey! Feel free to add :)

your health and the health of your future kids are more important than the way you look or how much you weigh. If you feel healthier at this weight, stay at this weight! You've achieved so much, and I bet you look brilliant. I would suggest waiting to lose that last 10lbs again until you've had another child!
-
Aah I wanna go in one so bad!
-
Yep! Focus more on the weights than cardio - also body-weight exercises are so underrated! A good old set of squats/crunches/push ups every day will do wonders! But of course, weight lifting is the way to go :) Good luck with it - and don't forget to celebrate your success! Just because you feel as though your body's…

She doesn't have a single five month old, she has 6 kids round 10.5 hours of the day! The other posters are right :) weight loss comes with a sustained calorie deficit, and MFP is great at working out goals for you if you're unsure of what you want to do at the moment :)
-
Sorry! Just realised that when I said BMR what I meant was the amount that MFP thinks I must burn throughout the day. The difference being that although I don't do much sport or exercise, so am classed as 'sedentary', I'm not actually bed-bound. I'll edit for clarity.
-
Thanks for replying :) Is there a website that would be able to give me a more accurate BMR calculation I could use?

Love this :')

What is T25? Is it on youtube?

^^ THIS :) Health is priceless, and teaching your 4 year old how to be active is such an important lesson! Dancing with your kid is great fun and great for both of you - you can also try to join in with games like tag, or invite his friends round and play stuck in the mud. When I was very little my mum used to take me…

This is so helpful! Thank you so much. I'm also one of the curvier ladies - at my thinnest (UK size 4) I still had a 28E bust size, and when I was the heaviest I've ever been (UK size 16) I had 34H's. I'm trying to get back to my favorite size for my body (30F) but at the moment I'm still spilling out over the top of…

Urgh men can you please stop with the creepy frigging comments? Having large breasts is a really frustrating problem - it can ruin your self-esteem, cause people you've never met to form harsh judgments about you or sexualize you, and prevent you from doing the things you want to do or wear the clothes that you want to…

Some of my closest guy friends who said between them "you used to be such a catch" and "yeah, you were so hot before" and "now I don't get why anyone would go for you" and promptly stopped hanging out with me. Some friends they were...

Yeah I'm 5"3 and started at 164lbs - I'm aiming to lose between 50-60lbs. I'd love to see pictures/hear advice from someone who did it!!

this is so inspiring and motivational! Thank you :D

- this is so true! A couple should find each others bodies beautiful as they are. If you know that she gets a buzz from dressing provocatively, go for it! If you know she can't go swimming because she feels too uncomfortable to even try on a swimsuit in a shop, like I do, then stay away from anything like that...
