Hi I am Melissa, 33 yrs young, mom to 2 boys, married to the 3rd. We live in Tigard, SW of Portland. I've lost 50 since last January, looking to loose at least another 100. I am doing the C25k program, and train in Taekwondo 3 times a week with my (almost) 7 year old. I would love more friends on MFP, so feel free…

For the place I am looking at, it's $45 for 1, $80 for 2, $99 for 3 or $199 for unlimited for 1 year. I might do the 3 tests and do it every 4 months. I wish I did it a year ago. I am curious if the Tanita body fat scale is accurate that I have at home. I hope not.

I have the Kinect and I swear playing any of those games breaks me out in a sweat!!! But I have gamefly and I just got the UFC trainer (train like mixed martial artists) and the Your shape (older one). I haven't tried them, but sounds like fun. I have the Zumba game for the wii and it's fun!

Wow! Congratulations!!!! You look great!

Runkeeper is great, even for us walkers! I also have Map My Ride (for my bike) and I am doing C25k Pro now.

I started 2 weeks ago (almost). I was worried that I wouldn't be able to do it since I am 281 lb and not a light weight. I have been exercising for a year and doing martial arts for 6 months. So I am fitter than I was a year ago. So I gave it a go! Day 1 I walked at 3.5 mph and 4.5 mph for the runs. I know it…

I have the previous generation (bought last year) and I had a bodybugg as well. I love these! I like that I know I burned 576 calories doing the C25k. Or that I burned 431 doing Taekwondo. It also tracks my steps and how I sleep (which is important). You wear it 24/7 and it's not that noticeable on your left triceps.…

I have lost 50, but I have at least 100 to go. Feel free to add me!

I train in Taekwondo M, W, Sat and I do C25k T, Th, Sun. I am either on the mats or at the gym 6 days a week. Fridays is my rest day.

Have you tried to use a balance ball? I have found that you can do lots of core exercises with it. Here's a link (I hope that's ok) to the Mayo Clinic's core-strength exercises. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/core-strength/SM00046 I hope this helps. I know some of those are great and I do them in Taekwondo training. Good…

Starting week 2 today!!!

Thank you everyone!!! For those that want to know how I've done it: *I go to Weight watchers meetings. I have NEVER missed one, even if i know the scale isn't going to make me happy. *I try to eat 1800 calories, happy with 1600-2000 (if I am exercising). With the points I was eating more calories, didn't loose as fast. *In…

I have a hard time with the F&V. But I am trying. I have a box of clementines that I am eating. It helps. I did weigh in today and hit 50 lb lost, and I got my charm! Very happy! Keep up though! You know the reasons you didn't loose. So next week will be much better! Just stick to the plan.

Nice work!!!! Keep it up!

I am a WW member, but I don't count points. I weigh in tomorrow as well. I am looking for a big loss, so I am excited about weighing in. Even though I had pizza for dinner tonight. :grumble:
-
I can use more buddies! I need to loose at least another 100. So I am in for the long haul.
-
I'd like to be down 10 lb, total loss of 56 lb. It's our anniversary on V-day, so hitting that number would be great!

I do WW, more or less, I go to the meetings. I began last January, and tomorrow I will weigh in and be at 50 lost. I have 43 pts plus for the day plus the 49 weekly points. I have been trying to double track to see what I am eating. I try to eat around 1800 calories. I have found that about 45 pts is 1800 or so. But it's…

I've lost 7 inches around and 5 in the band. But I've found a new bra can do wonders. Not sure about the piercing though.

Hi from Portland! I am just finishing week 1. I am shocked at how I feel! The rest days are really important, I've noticed. My shins were bugging me the first night, but by the 2nd night I was feeling better! Today is day 3 of week 1, so we'll see how it goes! But I just had to say hi from Portland!

I haven't seen the push up challenge. I might try it. But I am doing the C25k. I sent you a friend request. It's been fun. I am NOT a runner. I avoided it like the plague growing up. But now I have committed to running/jogging my first 5K March 18! So I am holding myself to it. I need to add some weight training into the…

I have noticed a much improved sex life! I think I have more...energy than the hubby!

Congrats! You look great!

Congrats!!!! That was a huge milestone for me!!! Today I weighed in and I've hit -50 (just not official until Monday)! It's totally doable! My first goal is to 271, where I was when I did track my freshman year of HS. Congrats again!!!

In 2006 my dad died at 58 years old. He was 6' and close to 500 lb. He had a sudden heart attack. He had no cardiac warnings, just boom, gone. Well, dad and I are very alike. So I was worried I would follow in his steps, of dying early. In Dec 2010, I made the decision (not resolution) to get healthy in 2011. So on Jan 2,…

I have a Body Media Fit band (like the body bugg) and MFP is not nearly as accurate but I think it's better than the machines at the gym. Those are way off.

Same here!!! I got 4.5 on the treadmill, but I am on w1d2 of the C25k program. So I know speed will come with training. I just need to focus on breathing first so I can last. I am doing my first 5k in 11 weeks! I don't care about speed, just finishing and saying I did it. Even if I walk a few moments!
