  • I will second Weight Watchers, it got me started on my journey. Now I am so stalled out after meeting with a dietitian and my dr, I have contacted a Bariatric surgeon. I am looking into have surgery, but in the meantime, they put me on a diet for 1500 calories (versus the 2200 that the dietitian suggested-doh!) and an…
  • Pattycakes, how is your excess skin situation?? I am really curious how it has been for you (since we are of similar sizes -pre op). What was your fitness level entering and during? Thank you everyone!!!!!
  • Thank you guys! I did the info seminar online plus went to the location's seminar about 8 years ago. This has been on my mind for a while now. I am just starting to do more thorough research.
  • My sister just had the sleeve done and now I am considering it as well. Thankfully my insurance covers it (hers didn't-she went to Mexico) so I am beginning the process. I can't decide if I want to do the sleeve or lap band. DH says I should just go for the sleeve since I keep saying that the lap band can be removed. He…
  • Congratulations! That's awesome!!!!
  • Enell, best bang for the buck, mine is almost 2 years old, and is finally needing to replaced. Check out teamestrogen.com.
  • Do you have to do them all at once? I do 10 then do something else, then back to squats. Doing it that way, I can do 100 pretty easily. I do martial art kicks inbetween normally. Just try to keep good form push through the pain. Your mind gives up before your body.
  • I am a fair weather biker. I wait until spring and go through September. I normally do 20-26 mile rides. My bike is more of a hybrid cruiser/mountain bike. I try to do a couple organized benefit rides during the summer. Right now I am doing stationary bike at the gym. I love riding my bike.
  • I am not a yogurt snob, but a very picky eater. So I am not a fan of tart/tangy/funky flavors/aftertastes. My favorite flavors are berries-strawberry, raspberry, mixed berry, NOT blueberry or plain/vanilla. I normally add 1/2 C of Kashi Go Lean Crunch to bulk up the fiber and protein. And that's my breakfast along with my…
  • Wow! That was interesting! Thanks for sharing!
  • I plan on reducing my G's when I am down closer to my goal weight. I figure I will have a tummy tuck/skin removal at the same time (buy one get one? ). My mom had one done 6 years ago, going from a F to C/D and is very pleased with it, except her nipples are always hard. They took out 1.5 lb of fat on each side and…
  • I think you are eating too little. From what I understand you need to eat at least your BMR # so 2,500 or so, and less than your TDEE (2,900). I'd at least be eating 2,000. Good luck!!!!
  • This was from last year. I've been plateaued for most of 2012 and 2013, but here's one from the end of 2012 when we went to Disneyworld.
  • I am a brown belt in Olympic TKD along with my 8 year old who is a Red Belt (and my 4 year old is a yellow in Hapkido). I'll be testing for Black in a few months. I am working on getting better conditioned right now, mainly b/c I am scared of the 5 hour test! I am learning the Taeguk forms. My instructor is a 4th degree…

  • I am 100.8 from goal (180 lb), and I would love to loose 100 and be done with the active WL phase, but I've been struggling for the last year and I know for me, hoping (and praying) to loose 25 this year will make me happy. BUT I am going forward and am trying to get more active. I think you have a great plan!! I need to…
  • Those look interesting! I wonder how they work with the breaks. I wish I had something like that on my bike, especially for my longer (20 mile) rides. The other part of me would love Aero bars, but I think it might look silly on a more urban MTB.

  • Last year I jumped on my bike for the first time in 10 years and did a 12 mile Bridge Pedal (in Portland). This year (on Sunday) I am doing the 8 bridge (24 mile) ride and it's got one major hill, that I am scared of already. I think I am saddle ready, been doing 20 mile rides the last 2 weekends, but they were more flat…
  • I just bought cycle knickers from Team Estrogen and I love them!!!! I was using my hubby's cycle shorts and they work fine, but I wanted some that were more my style. I bought a Canari Women's jersey in pale blue and Terry Women's knickers Plus. http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodCA_22180P.html (jersey)…
  • Hubby has a Taco salad recipe from the Abs diet cookbook that is nice. It's 1 tomato diced, 2T EVOO, 2T lime juice. It's light and tasty. Works great with a taco salad. For me, I am a ranch girl, and I haven't found one that I like... It's uber frustrating!!!!
  • I make my quinoa in the rice cooker with some better than bullion chicken base low sodium. Once it's almost done cooking, I add 1 cup of frozen corn, peas and/or carrots. My kids love it. And the rice cooker makes it easy peasy!
  • I have a food board and if I can, I post the calories. Feel free to follow. http://pinterest.com/osu2k1/ I love finding yumminess!
  • Honestly, that's something I am having issues with. I fear that WHEN I finally hit goal, that things will change. I worry about all those things, that sometimes I think it's hindering my weight loss. I don't really have any suggestions or words of advice. I have a feeling I will be going to therapy when I get down in the…
  • Would love an invite. I am 5'5.5" my SW was 331.2, and I've lost 57 lb so far (CW 274.2). I'd like to loose 100 more, for a goal of 175ish...for now. I don't really have a weight number in mind, more of a I'd like to be in 10's or something like that.
  • I had to do several weeks over and actually never could finish. I would really like to get back to jogging, but my knee isn't letting me do it. I think I have "runner's knee" so it's not happy. I haven't been out since March 18. But it's better to repeat weeks than to try moving on, and not being able to complete the runs.…
  • Feel free to add me. I need to loose 100 more or so.
  • I am currently on a 2 month plateau, so I totally get where you are. Have you taken measurements? I know when I don't seem to loose, I am loosing inches, which I've continued to do. Last week was my b-day and I went off plan completely. I still *tried* to make good choices, but I ate what I wanted. I weighed in…
  • Check these out. I am in Tigard/Beaverton, near Scholls Ferry Rd. Trails home page for Tualatin Hills Park & Rec: http://www.thprd.org/nature/trails/home.cfm I live by the Fanno Creek/Greenway trail: http://www.thprd.org/pdfs/document1474.pdf It's a great trail and very flat. It's great for walking/running/biking.
  • I am going to do the one in Portland in September. Not going to be able to really run it though, but might jog and walk.
  • I have my bodymedia fit band and I have worn it (or a bodybugg, This is #3) for several years. I know that if I don't do anything, I burn 2800 calories. If I actually move I burn a whole lot more. I think today's burn is going over 3900. I am able to see what I burned doing 45 minutes of TKD training, or 30 min of running.…
  • No idea!!! Are you measuring as tight as your jeans are? I know I have a habit of *not* measuring as tight. I'd give the tape another go and see.
