  • ^this If you think about it as a lifestyle and not a diet, you can see that long-term a few days here and there won't make too big a difference. Just get back on the horse and carry on, and savour the memory of the nice things you ate =)
  • You can get a lot of veg into a pasta sauce, especially if you blend it smooth - mushrooms, courgettes and onions will all blend into a tomato sauce without altering the colour too much (and alerting your vegiphobe to the presence of the enemy!). I find that people who don't like vegetables (particularly kids) will happily…
  • ooh ooh, and chip shop chips. In fact, a chip butty with all the butter soaking into the bread.
  • Crisp sandwiches. On WHITE bread. *dribbles a bit*
  • Or if you're a man you could always look sly and sassy and whisper that it's actually extensive corsetry. And it makes you feel so....alive!
  • Hahahaha, I'm gonna try that diet. Or there's the toddler diet - you give a toddler a bowl of food, and you can only eat what you can catch in your mouth before it hits the floor/walls/ceiling
  • "It's alright, I *like* big noses"
  • Oh lordy these are making me laugh. I've been told at various times... ...I love you as you are but you'd look nicer thinner ...your hair is like seaweed ...I love your skin, it's really pasty ...I've seen more fat on a whale I'm sure there's more, I'll have a think
  • I've always had a belly, no matter what I weigh. The number of times people have thought I was pregnant isn't even funny! Last time was when someone asked me when I was due and I had actually had the baby =( My plan is to lose the weight as far as poss, do some strength training to keep the fat down and give me some…
  • Hello fellow Apples! Even when I was skinny I still had a belly, and now I'm many many many pounds heavier and have had a baby, I now have a delightful apron of tiger-striped flab that flops up and down when I try to exercise! Whatever shape you are, you'll have something someone else wants and they'll have something you…
  • It might help to remember that there is a difference between coeliac disease (an autoimmune disorder that affects the gut and is triggered by gluten), wheat allergy (an allergy to the proteins in wheat that can provoke allergy symptoms like sneezing, hives, breathlessness, swelling, rash etc), and irritable bowel syndrome,…
  • Not very helpful - OP didn't claim to be an athlete, and prescription steroids are known to increase appetite. If you can maintain on a good daily amount of protein and unsaturated fats (nuts are your friends!), that would be what I would suggest.
  • Remember that at some point every single person in that gym had a first day. They weren't born knowing how to operate the machines, and they weren't born with super-fit bodies either - they got them from being at the gym! Also, most people you see in there will not notice you, as another poster said - a lot of people who…
  • Currently having 1550 calories per day, wanting to lose about 30 pounds in total. I'm not losing weight very quickly (some weeks, no loss at all) which is probably because I am eating a lot of calories for a diet - however, if I'm this hungry on 1550, I don't think I could cope with 1400 or so.
  • Oh you poor thing - don't have much advice, just wanted to say I know how you feel when it seems you're doing everything right but nothing is happening. Maybe you could think about the benefits you're getting that are not to do with weight? Exercise staves off heart disease, for example, and weight-bearing exercise helps…
