I thought it was just my imagination, but I seem to be much more bloated and puffy when I'm ovulating. It's very noticeable around my mid-section. I'm going to ask my ob/gyn about it next week when I see her. If I find out any new info, I'll let ya'll know.

Two weeks ago my 3 1/2 yo daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed and since she had to stay home I have had to stay home to take care of her. So I haven't worked out in 2 wks plus we've eaten out more than ever. Then a week ago I found out that my poor stepdad's lung cancer returned and he has to have surgery to try…

Try the Sneaky Chef cookbooks for kids and the new one for husbands. She includes easy baby food substitutes in case you can't manage making all of the purees ahead of time.

Are you eating more fiber? That can make some people bloated. Also, make sure you drink enough water.

Try fish oil and/or vitamin B6. The B6 is supposed to be the peppy pill according to the nutritionist at my gym.

I think the only truly accurate way to know is to use a heart rate monitor that can tell you how many calories you've burned within a given time (judging by your age, weight, heart rate while exercising). I know that Polar makes one that my gym sells for 150.00, but they may be cheaper at a regular store.

Once again, I talked myself out of going to the gym, arrrgggghhh! Hopefully I can get up the energy and motivation to go tomorrow.

I've been on Zoloft twice, and both times I have gained weight. I've been on it the past two years and have gained 20lbs! I watch what I eat and have been working out 3x/wk for most of that time. I do think the longer you're on it , the harder it is to lose weight. After I stopped taking it the first time around I quickly…

:explode: I'm getting so mad! Nothing has changed! In fact, the scale at my gym says I weigh 2lbs more than the scale at my dr.s office said last week. There's no way I gained 2lbs in a week. This really sucks!!!!! I just can't make it to the gym more than 3x/ wk, it's 20min away (but has great child care). How do ya'll…

thanks! I think I'll pass on it now.

Doesn't it balance out over the week or does it really matter that you eat the exact amount of calories every day? It seems like I can't get right at my target. I'm always too low or too high. Any suggestions?

:blushing: Has anyone ever had one? I watch 'You Are What You Eat' on BBC America, and she's always making people get one. I'd like to, but frankly I'm too embarassed to try and find out where I can go for one.

I feel like that all the time. I get so psyched up and I go to the gym, eat well, and then boom, right back to where I started. Consistency is my biggest problem, especially when I don't feel well or I'm stressed (I have 2 little girls, one who is(n't) potty training). You're definitely not alone.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, maybe I've seen 'Dodgeball' one too many times, but I feel like the scale at my gym isn't right. I know it's been worked on before so how often can those things get messed up? Is it just wishful thinking?:grumble:

There's a place here called 'Jimmy John's', and their sandwich has avocado spread and provolone cheese on fantastic whole grain bread. I should have known it was too good to be true!

Your post caught my attention b/c of the heart murmurs. The murmur itself is just an abnormal noise the heart is making. They can be caused by several different things. I have mitral valve prolapse with severe regurgitation. About 5% of the population have that (mainly women), and only a fraction of that number have any…

 lost 2lbs and had a great heart check-up. horrible discovery today: my fav. veggie sandwich is over 600 calories !!!!

I can sympathize with you. At the beginning of each week I say that we're not going to eat out. Then sooner or later my husband suggests going somewhere for dinner and of course I say yes b/c I have little or no will power. It's very frustrating.

I haven't weighed myself yet. I had to take my little one to the ENT dr. this morning so I missed going to the gym. I'll check tomorrow, but I have to go see my cardiologist Wed. for a 6mo check up so I'll compare the scales. I'm pretty sure the one at my gym is EVIL!

AAAARRRGGGGHHHH! Ok, so I had a very stressful day (we thought someone tried to break into our house yesterday!) and we ended up eating out, which is what keeps me from losing any weight. I was doing so well this week keeping my calories down, but after I looked up the nutritional info on what I ate I ended up being 64cal…

I'm so glad I decided to try this community. A few months ago I tried getting some friends to join me online with the Live Healthy America Challenge. We had to pay to join it and still no one participated it really bummed me out. I'm at the minimum weight loss amount for the weight loss group at my gym so I know I'm bound…

I'm Dalena, a 34yo mom of 2 girls (6 1/2 and 3 1/2). This is the beginning of yet another try to lose the 20lbs I have gained over the last 2 years. I've been working out for about 18mo, but I'm on several heart meds (long story, 4 open-heart surgeries in 5 yrs, incl. mechanical heart valve) and an antidepressant which I'm…
