Thanks everyone, for the follow-up advice! I never thought about it much from an anesthesia perspective. I know when I had surgery in the past, it was pretty mild, and that never bothered me. But I hadn't gained as much weight as I had before. The point of putting me under the 250lb category makes a lot of sense, if that…

Thanks for your responses! I agree, I think it's best to just contact the surgeon next, and get their feedback and opinion, on whether it's worth getting it done sooner, or dropping more weight; and finding out what next steps I should be taking. Also, thanks for the idea of asking what to watch out for if I hold out on…

Just doing some math in my head right now: You're 5'4" tall. Going by your username, I assume you are a female. You stated that you want to lose a total weight of 95 lbs to be where you really want to be when it's all said and done. Going to this site and putting in your information:…

Interesting... I might have to look more into that. Thanks!

So, I just want to apologize for a post and dash situation that I made with this thread! It always irks me when I see others do it in other forums, and yet I did it on this thread! I wanted to apologize and respond back to those of you who made the post... I appreciate all your input that you had on this. I'm not sure what…

I think it's a touch situation to be in, not only for you, but also for those around you at the gym. As an example, the other night I was at the gym with my wife. I've been going there now for a bit under a year, and have lost a fair amount of weight. I feel much more comfortable in my workout clothes, running on the…

Hmm...maybe I won't worry too much about the sweat. I wonder if it's just an issue with stamina. I have the strength in the legs, but not any endurance in them yet for that type of exercise.

It's a Polar.....something or other. Lol, I don't remember the exact model, but it was one that was highly recommended on here. It has the chest strap, and then the watch receiver.

Great! Thanks all for the quick help! I'm moving MFP more and more :) So I guess a somewhat relative question to this would be, does the 1200 calories to eat minimum per day include any subtractions from cardio exercise, or is it a standalone value? I guess what I'm trying to ask is if I eat, say 1600 calories, but then…

You said you've been doing it for several months now. Have you lost a fair amount of weight since that time? If so, it may now be calculating based on your new weight, which will burn less calories than it did when you weighed more.

Hey all! Sorry, I didn't mean to completely abandon this thread (I get frustrated when new people do that!) I took all your advice and steered clear of the Omron and Timex HRMs! :) The Omron didn't have the ability to track calories burned, and the Timex was not known for its accuracy, and you all seemed extremely partial…
