The 15/16 year old me definitely sees her differently than my current 19 year old self.

I was a sophomore in high school who didn't really need to lose weight. I was more along the lines of "skinny fat" and I have a mom who has struggled to lose weight ever since my birth, so I was used to seeing new diets and ways of eating. I saw Freelee, thought "hm, I like fruit, and hey, it's fruit, so how bad can it…

I use gummy vitamins. Usually I take them after breakfast so I remember while I'm eating breakfast and thinking "hmmm, what am I going to be doing after this?"
-
-raises hand- I believed her and sulked about how I wouldnt be "able" to do it. Because fruit CANT POSSIBLY make you fat, right?

Incredible! Nice job. I'm also impressed that you're able to carry someone on your back while you run. I know so people who have done tough mudders and when they get to that part, it amazes me.

Don't worry I think we were all a little guilty of that thought when we first began. I know I was ;) but in my defense, I blame health class! I guess attempting to give up sugar was my "failed diet". I've mentioned in other discussions that I gave up sugar in the form of pastries, cookies, cakes, chocolate etc. for lent 2…

Sugar cubes may not, but I think cane sugar would be the starting point for them, as well.
-
Here's what I got from the link you posted: "Sugar was first manufactured from sugar cane in India, and its manufacture has spread from there throughout the world. Chemically, sugar is the substance sucrose, which can be hydrolysed in acidic solution (i.e. below pH 7) to form the monosaccharides glucose and fructose as…

Here I see two very beautiful pictures of a sugar factory. So? If refined sugar is made in factories, can you give me a recipe?
-
MFP's sugar recommendation is pretty low, all things considered. No sugar is bad unless, as others have stated, you have a medical condition that requires you to watch the amount of sugar you consume. I notice you said you are pre-diabetic and have PCOS, so perhaps that would be a reason to reconsider some choices, but…

Really cool hair

And on his birthday, too!

That's perfect. I can almost taste caramel swirl ice cream with bacon in it right now! :p
-
I don't know, I'm pretty big on sweets, but I'd probably go crazy without the option to eat bacon ;)
-
That's actually a pretty good way to think of it. The last time I explained this to someone and I included "of course, that much ice cream probably wouldn't make ya feel too good" but you make a good point ETA: Thank you for that thought

For weight loss, I believe a calorie is a calorie. It's a unit of energy, I've used this example many times: if I ate 300 calories of ice cream for breakfast, 300 calories of Ice cream for lunch and 300 calories of ice cream for dinner and ate nothing else at all, I'd lose weight because I'm only consuming 900 calories a…

I can understand your motives, but it is my understanding that the kidneys and liver will detox you naturally. Just be sure to drink plenty of water and yeah, fruits and veggies will probably make you feel good, but I doubt they will be "detoxing". I can't say whether it will "boost" weight loss but you'll probably lose a…

Haha, yeah I definitely learned the hard way. It's all good, I'm a bit wiser now because of it, I guess. I had some baby carrots in the lunch bag too, so I didn't go -completely- hungry

One time I tried to make a pb2+ sugar free jelly sandwich on something likened to a rice cake: By time it was lunch time, it was soggy, inedible, and smelled like vomit. It was a low point in my life :( It made me wish I had real rice cakes, I would've eaten anything BUT that at that point

This would have been great for 2013/14 as I live in Jersey and we had so much snow...this year..well it's not looking too good for us :(
-
Yep, that's my mom exactly. There have been times where she would eat very little and drink and wake up a few pounds lighter but I wouldn't exactly consider that a good, sustainable way of weight loss ;)

Protein powder in greek yogurt, and I love chicken salad. Here's the recipe we use at work: Cook chicken breasts A little poultry seasoning A little celery seed Chopped celery Chopped yellow onion Mayo We make it in bulk so I wouldn't know the exact quantities for making a small batch, but you could play around with this…

If you think about it, the first meal of the day you eat is breakfast. Breakfast= breaking the fast, so breakfast could equal dinner if it's the first meal you eat all day.

I'm in college too and I did a 2 month program over the summer at my college. We got three free meals a day in the cafe, unlimited everything. I'd usually have Greek yogurt and oatmeal for breakfast (7:00 am) which would keep me pretty satisfied until lunch (12:30 pm) but sometimes I'd have a granola bar between classes.…

Eggs are one of the only foods I can't stand! For breakfast I'll usually have a blackberry or raspberry greek yogurt and veggie wrap (Tumaro's wrap, salsa, spinach and sometimes bacon). It's usually around 270 calories if you use two strips of already cooked bacon, without the bacon it would be around 210

Do some light cardio if you'd like, and maybe have a bath. Usually that makes me feel better. Everyone loses themselves from time to time, and sometimes it's easy to just keep eating because, hey, food is good. If you're feeling too sick for dinner, try to just have a bit or have something lighter. Logging will keep you…

Thanks for the help everyone :)

I also have a George Foreman grill, so this is good. I'd consider doing that, thank you

Thank you for you reply. I think we may have a meat thermometer laying around, so I'll look for that. I would buy boneless and skinless, definitely

Good luck in all that you do. My mother is also in the pre op stage, but for gastric sleeving. It was originally scheduled for Dec. 29th, but she postponed because she was feeling overwhelmed. I keep telling her that weight loss is just the a bonus, the feeling she will get with her NSVs will probably be amazing
