That's true, and I understand that what works for some may not work for others. But the position I (as well as other posters) have taken is that the OP shouldn't have to deprive herself in the name of weight loss. At the end of the day she'll do what pleases her, but I hate to think that there are hungry, dissatisfied…

That makes me a betrayitarian then (according to one of my coworkers)

Also, to answer your question about meal ideas, a good vegetable grilled cheese on rye bread always has and always will be one of my go tos. Butternut squash, spinach, almonds and a little olive oil with some seasonings would also be a nice hot meal to try

I was a vegetarian for 6 years before going back to eating some types this past October. If someone asked me what you'd call someone trying to reduce their meat intake, I wouldnt think to call them "reducetarians". Id call them someone trying to reduce their meat intake. Why does everyone need a special word? I can…

That didn't make me want to press flag, it made me want to press like

That's funny!

I was following this while laying in bed with the laptop and I woke up at 4:30 because apparently I fell asleep. I caught up and then went back to sleep lol

^Thiiiis. I tried to cut out foods I liked and I ended up taking out a whole jar of cinnamon raisin peanut butter over the course of a day because, hey, it's like natural and stuff. So it's obviously good for you ;) But we all know I only binged like that because I wanted a real dessert

I know that you're trying to make "healthier choices" and that we, the good-intentioned MFPers will probably be unable to sway you, but I do believe that you can have both. 285 calories? That's perfect! Pair it with a small salad or maybe a piece of fruit and I see no reason you should feel guilty. Or pair it with nothing,…

My boyfriend has a coupon for a free dozen from Krispy Kreme. How many pounds can I expect to gain from that? Jokes set aside, this is a great reminder!

I am in South Jersey, about 10 minutes from Philly!

Mmm, I do! My most favorite is a blt on rye bread, no mayo. It's plain but it's safe lol. If you make it yourself you can usually control the calories a bit easier. I also like grilled Swiss cheese sandwiches with spinach and tomato. I find that if I bulk up the sandwich with some veggies I don't have to add too much of…

I wouldn't sweat that, my mom used to let me have tastes of her slimfast shakes and nutrisystem food when that was "the thing" for weight loss. The chocolate pudding was icky

Being that I am 19 and inexperienced as I don't have kids of my own, I have to say I agree with the parents saying moderation and let them eat what they like. I could be slightly biased, because I was an extremely picky eater, but my mom let me have a good balance. There were plenty of nights where I had a peanut butter…

While I will agree with you that short people need less calories to maintain/lose weight than the taller people, I wouldn't suggest going under 1200, and that's on the low end. I'm 4'9, and I'd be starving at just 900 a day.
-
Put it this way, eating 800-900 calories every day will cause you to lose weight...and hair...and muscle mass.. Using the treadmill is good exercise, and five days a week isn't bad. As far as eating goes, I'd try to figure out how many calories you need to maintain your weight and then create a slight deficit. Or you could…

Yup, nothing wrong with having something else. If you're the one who usually cooks for everyone, you could make changes to the meal so it fits your macros and have things on the table that they could add to the meal. For instance you could make tacos and everyone can make and choose their own toppings. You can make your…

My mom is a big spaghetti junkie, and sometimes she'll have spaghetti squash in place of spaghetti. I wouldn't say it's a complete substitution, but as long as you use it in spaghetti dishes the kids probably won't notice. Just make sure it's cooked thoroughly and soft enough and put it with red gravy or maybe a little…

It all depends. Sometimes the personality can make/break how attractive someone is physically, I think. My boyfriend isn't super buff, but he lifts and runs (though he hasn't ran in a while) so he's got muscular thighs, legs and arms, they're just not bulging. He's at a healthy weight, I like how he looks :)

You're welcome :) I guess it just takes a little experimenting and playing around with meals and meal times. Also, it is good that you are not depriving yourself
-
Make sure to eat often/incorporate little snacks. I know at work I won't really feel hungry, but after 5 or 6 hours of not eating, I'll get home and eat everything so quickly. I would also make sure you're not depriving yourself of anything :)
-
Very nice! And I love your style :) Keep up the good work

Not sure about what may/may not be water, but I gained about a pound and a half (?) so I just plan to get back to eating normal, satisfying meals, having a treat or two a day and continuing to work out hard. The gym's hours for the past week or so hasn't fit my schedule quite as I like, so I was left to run outdoors/do…

I gave up my beloved pastries and sweet treats up for lent about two years ago. No, it wasn't because sugar was "the devil", I just figured I needed to give up something and besides, I heard that some people feel better when they do it. I didn't feel any different, I didn't lose weight (which wasn't the point anyway) and…

Vegetable: Spinach, as it's very versatile Fruit: Maybe watermelon or clementines

-Stay positive -Lift often -Do laundry more often -Keep things super clean. My refrigerator gets a little gross sometimes.
-
My mom almost threw up after finding moldy beans in our fridge last night. Guess it's a good reason to eat clean!
-
Agreed ^ the day that I stopped trying to cut certain foods out of my life (especially sweets and pastries) was the day I began binging less frequently. Op, maybe you could try detour protein bars. I get a cinnamon apple one and it's got 10 grams of protein at just 130 calories

I've never had anything at the restaurant chipotle. That's outeageous, apparently. There's a special level in dante's inferno reserved just for me. I like chain restaurants but I'm not really into the kind of food that chipotle offers---I can't understand the hype. I've also never had relish. Its the look and the thought…

Add kids cuisine meals to the list...is that supposed to be a brownie? Hardened pudding? The world may never know but I loved those meals as a kid
