We're mostly a Veteran/Active Duty/Reserves group, at least in my area, although it's open to civilians as well. You may want to check your area out and see if you have a local team, they basically do sports and social activities.

eh, works for me, even if my info on the cube size is wrong. I got zip-lock bags of bone broth cubes in the freezer, if I want a drink or if I need them for a recipe I pull some out and nuke 'em. Can't beat the convenience.

Hahaha! Thankfully with this WOE, those are turning from the fat Chinese kind into the small Fillipino kind.

You can put different herbs in it. I usually do the simple onion/celery/carrot combo, and fish out and trash the veg at the end. Pro tip: freeze bone broth in ice cube trays, one cube equals a quarter of a cup, you can use it in recipes instead of canned stuff.

Kept up with the fast dudes during the Team Red White and Blue flag run yesterday! I was wheezing like I was dying, but I made it, even when they decided to pick up the pace the last quarter of a mile. By the way, if you see a bunch of people in red shirts running with an American flag, please honk! We are a veteran's…

I heard an interview with Dr. Monastyrsky on the Ben Greenfield podcast. Interesting stuff. I actually buy his argument - our digestive tract is closer to the ones of carnivores than herbivores. However, the Doc makes it a point that the amounts of fiber he finds to be dangerous are kind of hard to consume if you eat just…

It depends on the day. On weekdays I usually have 1-2 meals with a few snacks (cheese, nuts, a square of dark chocolate). On weekends, depends on what I am doing and with whom, most of the time it's just one meal.

There is a book out there called "The Fiber Menace" by Dr. Konstantin Monastyrsky. Just in case you want to really give your doc something to think about.
-
I really really want to do this, but I doubt I'll be able to last. Right now I am cutting my 'vegetable' consumption to one meal a day. I will try to do a week of AAA and hope to not gain a tremendous amount of weight off cheese.

So much vegan propaganda in the comment section. Almost made me want to stir up some controversy in there, but meh, too lazy.

My SO, who's been lazy keto-ing and running with me had his annual health check up. He is down 30 lb since October, which takes him out of the obese category, his blood pressure is down to the normal range and his doctor is very impressed. When the doc asked him what he's been doing, my very very smart SO said, 'cut down…

If you would like the recipe, I found it on r/ketorecipes on reddit. I used only 2 tbsp. instead of half cup per recipe because carbs, but if it fits your macros... go nuts

I fry them to death in butter so they're crunchy, and use them as cheese and hotdog delivery system. Mmmmm. Now I'm thinking I should get some one of these days...

My food allergies get me out of any cake occasions. Never thought I'd be thankful for suffering food allergies.

Breakfast: prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella. Don't ask. Usually I IF. Lunch: PF Chang's lettuce wrap knock off (minus the lettuce wrap), made with turkey instead of chicken and coconut aminos instead of soy sauce, a sugar-free jello cup. Dinner: either a taco salad or meat and cheese roll-ups from the Eastern European deli.

The author is kind of hot, too. Looks like a great blog, overall. Thanks for the tip.

How beautiful! congrats, @PaleoInScotland ! Whereabouts is that?

I swear that study is part of a media blitz to discredit real food diets. Almost makes me want to dig in and look at where the money is coming from. The guy who the article is quoting has been tap dancing all over the media with his shoddy study.

Please warn me next time you link to playboy... I'm on a work computer.

I'm good with meat and cheese. I'm honestly ok with eating nothing but that. Most of my fat comes from butter, meat (made my own schmaltz the other day - woohoo!) and some MCT oil.
-
@wabmester interesting even though I am not completely on board with a lot of Woo's stuff. I tend to attribute my weight problems, and my gluten issues, to a hit of radiation right to the thyroid when I was 2, but who knows. I went paleo in 2013. Lost 30 lb. Re-gained about 20, because cherries are delicious. Went keto in…

@DittoDan , the more I read about obesity research over the last 150 years, the more I want to punch some of these 'scientists' and 'doctors' in the face. It's like it's easier to blame the obese for their condition, and write it off as a character defect, rather then treat the problem. We had the keto/Adkins type diets…

Yep, it's electrolytes, mainly sodium. I tend to pass out when I don't watch my consumption like a hawk.

Omg Omg Omg! I got a photo from Tuesday's run club with two of my friends, very fit runners, one of whom is still in high school. Guess what... I didn't look any fatter then them! In fact, I looked about the same size, and a bit slimmer then one. We were all standing facing the camera head-on, so it (hopefully) wasn't just…

@FIT_Goat , I saw it at Whole Foods if there is one in your area. Also a European ethnic deli might carry it.

Agreed. Plus I like the feeling of being one of select few (million) that has the secret code to fairly effortless weight loss.
