  • Carbonaut is the best tasting keto bread I've found so far. Also, most keto breads are much tastier after toasting.
  • @nvmomketo I completely agree with you, plus I'm sure tomorrow a new study will come out that will say something different, and the journalists will sensationalize that in a clickbait-y title.
  • In the end, the best weight-loss diet is the one you can stick to. For me it works out that a low carb diet allows me to cut calories without being hungry all the time, but there are people who do just as well on high carb diets, vegetarian diets, etc. I think low-carb/ketogenic diets should be studied closer for…
  • We have a local meat 'wholesale' store, which I visit about 1X a month at ~$150, and then I spend about $75 - $100 a week on dairy, drink, cold cuts, veggies and non-keto food for my DH who refuses to eat low carb. I also live in an uber-expensive area with ridiculous food prices, so there is that. To save money, my advice…
  • I mean, I can make my meals look pretty if I really want to. Steak with a chunk of compound herb butter and plump roasted asparagus with a few grains of rock salt? Beautiful. Crustless pumpkin cheesecake bar with a dollop of sugar-free whipped cream? Appealing. Stuffed chicken breast on a bed of quickly sautéed zoodles?…
  • I yo-yo a lot. A year or two of calorie counting, clean food, workouts, feeling great, looking good, getting close to my goal weight, then life of some sort happens, stress gets to me and I turn to binge eating and sugar to help me deal. In a few months I'm pretty much back where I was before (I usually yo-yo 170 lb on the…
  • Both. Keto keeps the craving and hunger away, and calorie restriction is what makes you slim down, so if you're thinking keto, you have to do both.
  • Hi! Just got mine, can use some friends! https://www.fitbit.com/user/2CDZTF
  • I tell people I watch what I eat, and cut down on the sugar. I think I might start telling people I drink green tea and run an hour every night.
  • I may have been in the past. And then left, cause it was boring and most people on there seemed to be either much older or much younger, and way more sedentary than I am.
  • Hilarious. I think I'll be posting that to my Facebook, I got some 'friends' in the "gluten allergies aren't real" camp. Might be fun to rustle some jimmies.
  • Money wise: I splurge on races. Someone the other day was making fun of me for saying I can't afford new pants, but in the same breath saying that if I can get a certain race bib for $50, I'll take two. Calorie wise: I splurge on cheese, because, well, cheese.
  • I just ran across a keto garlic bread recipe on Pinterest, maybe it would be worth it for you to check out? After our first Fathead pizza my SO refuses to order out...

  • Salt tablets. Take one with a sip of water about every 3-4 miles. I ran a very happy and easy 1/2 marathon while fasted with only salt as fuel. I'm not an expert by any means, but I run a lot, do distances and races, in a hot environment and usually with no food. The salt tabs have been a life savior, I used to get…
  • My small-sized uniform pants fit again, and they're kind of loose! Hopefully next month they'll be loose enough to actually need the belt. Also, thank you keto for being to not eat most of the day without being hangry, I wouldn't survive this weekend otherwise.

  • My clothing is getting very loose and I am thinking I will retire the pants I am wearing in two weeks, right along with the rest of my size 6-8 work pants.

  • Good Tuesday morning, everyone! I made some pigs-in-the-blanket with fathead dough yesterday. OMG. So easy and delicious. I think my next fathead dough adventures will involve empanadas - I live in the area where every gas station and convenience store has hot empanadas and pastelitos on display as soon as you walk in.…
  • I lost half an inch off my waist and an inch off my hips in the last two weeks. Woohoo!

  • Thank goodness it's Monday. It's been an uber-stressful and busy weekend. I'm going to take today off, workout wise, and be back on my regularly scheduled diet and workout routine starting tomorrow.
  • Stevia tastes super bitter to me. I like pure sucralose, very sparingly, maybe a drop or two in my tea.
  • Unfortunately I absolutely love the coconut ones. I'd rather eat them than binge on real sweets, so once in a while when the cravings hit (damn you, shark week) I will get them and ration like crazy.
  • I'm taking NaturaCalm, which is a magnesium supplement, before I go to sleep, and supplement with potassium and salt. I had pretty vicious cramps before, but they're completely gone now.
  • Let's start this Wednesday off right, with a 4 lb loss. SW:165 lb two weeks ago CW: 161 lb - 4 lb Thank you, after-shark week whoosh!
  • Let me know how it turns out and if you like it.
  • When I bought these pants they were sausage-tight. I fit in, but had a muffin top from heck, and they hugged... everything (but 'cmon, $15 for a brand new pair of Calvin Klein pants? Still worth it). Well, as of today, they're lose. I can feel the fabric move around my thighs instead of being stretched to the breaking…

  • It's Thursday, and I am really looking forward to a fun (and run) filled weekend. I made some fathead pizza yesterday to take with me to lunch today, and really impressed my coworkers. That recipe is amazing. I'll be making a casserole tonight (for Friday and hopefully the next week's lunches) but I might make the fathead…
  • Body dysmorphia is real. We have some heavy ladies at my job, and I always feel like I'm a size bigger than them, which I am not. When I look at myself, or think about myself, I see one of those busted tubes of biscuit dough. I hate shopping and don't wear revealing clothes unless I'm working out. The thing is, it's a…
  • It's Wednesday! I am staying the heck away from the scales because shark week is coming in a week, and I am most likely at my highest. Not only that, but I've not been as strict as usual with my food intake because life (good on carbs, but over on calories). Once the half marathon this weekend will be over, I will dust off…
  • Happy Monday! Good job, @ProCoffeenator . I passed my physical fitness test for work yesterday, and had a bit of a celebration (a glass of red wine and two tablespoons of berries with burrata cheese). Woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a truck, with nausea to boot. Ick. My first half-marathon is less than a…
