Both of you are wrong.

While I have seen evidence of low-fat and high-fat phenotypes, I don't think I have ever seen anything particularly convincing for someone being a protein type. Studies have shown almost double (1.5g/kg) the RDA intake of protein is excellent in terms of body composition. This is pretty much true for most people. Some…

"Natural sugars" like fruit sugar (fructose) aren't polysaccharides, therefore they cannot be complex. Fruits are "natural" yet "give you quick energy boost."
-
Never thought about it like that. You're an evil genius!

someonelikemyself: Potatoes (one's that are not sweet potatoes) have a bad reputation for no reason. They are a good source of nutrients, so enjoy! lol high in sugar? 2.8g of sugar for a 389g russet potato is high in sugar?

Oh man ... the alarmism in this thread is insane.

You want the straight truth? All this nonsense surrounding sugar is complete horse****. It takes a lot of time to explain why but look for a video on youtube with the title including "Alan Aragon" and "sugar is toxic." The video is long but he goes on to explain why Lustig's position of sugar being toxic is just nonsense.

My favourite sources: - Chicken: If you take the skin off, the protein on all chicken (white or dark) is awesome. It tastes even better with skin on but it might not fit your fat intake. - Steak: Specifically flank, top sirloin, and skirt - Even with the fat left on, these things have large amounts of protein. - White fish…

Good advice. Many people forget that calories are simply needed for weight loss while macronutrients largely dictate body composition. Macronutrients definitely need more love on this site. Also, I believe in low-fat and high-fat phenotypes, meaning people who do better on higher fats and lower carbs and vice versa.

Some people actually fall prey to believing something is bad (psychological) and therefore a negative physical response is produced when that food is eaten. I'm not saying that is your situation but there are many people like that. From a scientific perspective, sugar is sugar regardless of where it comes from. Your body…

Dried fruits, in my opinion, are one of the worst sources of calories. They're basically tiny little sugar bombs.

Chicken caesar wrap on a white tortilla with roasted garlic croutons and bacon bits. Damn. I'm definitely having that tomorrow.

1g per pound bodyweight is a good starting point. Lyle McDonald recommends 1.1g-1.5g/lb of BW, which is 133g-181g. 1.5g is the maximum, so there's no point going over that. If you aren't a strength or power athlete then you can get away with much lower. What I would do is start off with 130g and track progress from there.…

A few notes. If I recall correctly, only a portion of society (around 20-25%) is sensitive to sodium. Simply put, sodium will negatively effective their blood pressure, which means only 1 in 4 people are sensitive to sodium. You can test this out yourself if you have access to a blood pressure monitor. Take me for example.…

How much do you weigh and how much protein are you taking in?
-
Why do you wish to reduce your sodium? Are you sensitive to it?
-
What meats do you usually purchase? It makes it easier to recommend something when I know that.

If more than 8 is bad then I should be dead. I drink over 25 cups a day and I'm still dehydrated. :p
-
I have to ask this every time now ever since I found out how many people do this. Do you weigh everything to the gram? Or do you measure things via cups and tablespoons?
-
How meticulous are you with counting your calories and how do you measure it? Do you use cups or do you weigh in grams/ounces?
-
What am I going to do? Reverse diet to bulking calories then bulk for approx. 5-6 months then do this over and over again until I've reached the body I want then proceed to maintain and only add calories when strength begins to stall.
-
Yes, set point (or settling points) exists but ... “The combination of these data with George’s insightful idea, has merged into a modification of the popular Set-Point Theory of the regulation of body weight. The alternative “Settling Zone” Theory suggests that whereas biology may determine a range of body weights…

Just because it's banned doesn't mean it isn't safe. Foie Gras was banned in Chicago at one point. Steroids are safe but because people are too dumb to use it properly, it has been labeled as dangerous. It really is dependent on how the individual handles it and how they dose it as well as the rest of their lifestyle.…

Because they're dumb and misused it? EC stack has been studied extensively and has been shown to be safe.

Don't try and force more water down your throat, that's just unnecessary. If I've went over my calories before then I always reduce calories the next day by 100-200 and I'm also more active.
-
I'm not getting offended. It doesn't matter what other people's results are. They're on a caloric deficit, so they can attribute their success to something stupid like a designer thermogenic. I'm trying to save you your hard (or easy) earned dollars. All branded thermos are a waste. If you want to go on something then go…

No one here eats clean because clean is a figment of your imagination.

Everyone else has said most of it but I'll address the junk question. In short, no. Junk food in the short term is not unhealthy or harmful. What hurts fat loss is a caloric surplus. Junk food does not negatively effect it unless it impedes on your macronutrients and calories. In the long term, it can be harmful to your…

Hell if I know. When I calculate my calories, I use my BMR with an activity factor. Has worked for me all along. I can see running into problems with eating exercise calories because you could miscalculate the exercise calories.
-
I just gave you the answer. If you have a question, you should ask. Anyone who gives you results is simply just feeding you hogwash. Branded fat loss products do not really have ingredients that make an appreciable difference. EC stack is scientifically proven.
