Good Morning everyone...I am new to this thread, but it sounds perfect for me as I have 100+ to lose and so much more to gain! Tuesday goals: Up my water intake. I was doing really well, but fell off the wagon and am struggling to get it back up, so I am challenging myself to drink 10 cups of water a day starting today. I…

Beauty comes from the light inside a person and it complements the outside physical appearance. To say that our SO's lie if they say we're beaufiful when we're fat is insulting and demeaning and (for me at least) suggests that you are superficial, banal and obsessed with how you (and those around you) look. We all know…

I would say "buh bye"...You don't need someone who "might be more attracted to you if you look like you did when you were 17" You deserve someone who loves and cherishes you and obviously, this is not him! Love who you are sister....

Absolutely....as an old employee of mine put it "it's not science rocket".....or you could always put the KISS principle on it...keep it simple stupid ( and no, I am not suggesting that anyone debating this is stupid, it's just a saying) As long as we continue to put more calories in than we burn...we increase our weight.…

What you say about the "fat person" vs the "thin person" made me think about some things that have crossed my mind over the years.....(although crossing the mind and not staying may have caused some of the issues to begin with) But, anyway, when I was growing up, I was really aware of and afraid of girls getting kidnapped…

You are so right! I had lost 23 lbs. and then I don't know what happened...maybe my success went to my head and I thought that i didn't have to be careful anymore....but it's all back now and I am so discouraged by my own lack of self control. But, I logged yesterday for the first time in months and although I was pretty…

Thanks, I just reopened my diary...I haven't been logging and just started back yesterday. I usually crave sweets and carbs...so bad, I know but sometimes they are so strong. I love to bake, so that doesn't help, but now when I bake I give it all away...that way I have the satisfaction of baking without the temptation o…

Thank you, everyone for all the great advice, your own stories and the encouragement. I think that each post has some nuggets in it that apply to me. Triggers, for one is huge. I'm not sure what they are yet, but I bought a journal today at the store and plan to begin writing about how I feel, when I feel the urge to…

Sounds great, how do I get in with the challenges?

You are so right and it's funny because in my head, I know it..I know moderation is key and intellectually I know what I should be eating and that restricting everything isn't the answer...but still and yet, I go overboard and have regained the 20 lbs that I had lost. And I can definitely tell the difference.

Thank you for the info...I am going to start tracking again tomorrow and will look at those key nutrients. You may well be right, but I'm pretty sure that the comfort eating component is there...but I don't know why. My life is good right now, but obviously something keeps tripping that comfort response.

Love the quotes...thanks for the encouragement.

Love this thread...brings back so many memories...For me it was my Barbies and my 1970's Barbie Dream House. I also cherished my Chrissie Doll...she had hair that pulled out of the top of her head so you could make it longer or shorter...so much fun...until I cut it with scissors and realized that it wasn't coming back! I…

"I bet I could find some kind of article or study to say we should never EVER eat broccoli because it will give us incurable diseases." If not disease, certainly the ability to break wind in a single swoop.

Just curious as to how much water you are drinking a day? I upped my water intake and it's really helped.

I would absolutely not eat it. It's been out far too long in the temperature zone where bacteria multiply the fastest. It's a foodborne illness just waiting to happen!

Absolutely agree with this, however in Houston, takiing off your shirt is mandatory BECAUSE of the humidity...lol

I second as well...you could start in the Dallas area and work your way down to the Gulf Coast....we have lots of different scenery/history/geography and the Gulf is beautiful as well. Warning: our mosquitoes on the coast have their own license plates!

^This....lol.....Texans all the way next year! But this year....GO GIANTS.....I'm an Eli fan!

This is a great question and one that really resonates with me. I find myself working or just sitting watching a show wondering what I can find to eat. At home I prowl my kitchen looking for that one "thing" that will satisfy and end up eating a bunch of junk...none of which does the trick.

I belong to Curves and I do enjoy it. I like an atmosphere with all women in various states of fitness. It's great when you are just starting and trying to build up some endurance and there are different variations on the workouts. Not for everyone, but works for me.

Yesterday I was just an eating machine....nothing satisfied me and the more things I tried, the less satisfied I was.. Long, short I feel bloated and yucky today....and determined. 2 big bowls of oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins.....hard boiled egg,.....blueberry muffin.....meatloaf, mashed potatoes, bananan…
