This is a great read, so glad I stumbled upon this thread today. It feels good to see so many people saying the same things I am feeling or have felt so far. -Constantly being cold. My family is learning not to allow me to adjust the thermostat or the doors and windows. -Having a hard time seeing the losses that have…

Guess I'll have to create my own entry using the info from the monitor on the machine with calorie and distance. Thanks all. I was hoping maybe someone else used this machine. Trying to change up my exercises a bit after doing the same old videos and walks for the last year.

Okay, I'm in. My goal is at least 10,000 steps a day. Just started back to work this week, so not quite as easy to get them in as it was this summer. Day..............Steps.......... .Total 10/01...........13,600...........13,600 10/02........... 5,612........... 19,212 10/03............ 6,835........... 26,047

Congratulations!!! That is fantastic. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I make my own chicken stock so I can control the sodium content a bit. I second the freezer meals idea. About once a month, I spend several hours in the kitchen chopping veggies and chicken and separating into bags for later use. Still have 2 in the fridge for this month. That turkey chili…

I miss digestives. Sometimes you can find them in the stores here, but they don't quite taste the same. (Adds them to the list of reasons, she wants to visit the UK again.)

Haven't really quit anything, but I have cut back on how often I have them. Bread and Pasta!! I could happily eat pasta of some type 7 days a week and not have a problem with it. Bread has been a problem all my life. I come from a family that loves bread and it was never hard for a family of four to devour an entire loaf…

I have about 120+ still to lose. I have been seriously tracking since Nov. , but according to my doctor's charts I have already lost 50 pounds since this time last year. I decided when I started that I would focus on little chunks at a time so I wouldn't feel so overwhelmed. My first goal was to have the dial on my old…

I'm still a bit unclear on setting my activity level as well. I have it at sedentary as I sit for most of my 5 hour day at work. But I am also walking or doing work out videos 3 - 4 days a week most weeks and I bowl in a league once a week. Plus I am the main shopper and cook for a household of 5. Should I actually change…

Bump just so I can find the links again without having to search all the time. :)

@Canuname, Thanks for the heads up. I will check further into the Fitbits and see if I can find one I like. I had not realized there were any that were worn like a pedometer.

Thank you all for your replies. As I am more interested in the amount (or lack thereof) of movement in each day, for now I will just keep count of my steps and not worry about the possible calories expended. I looked at the Fitbit, but as it is worn like a watch I decided not to get one for the simple fact that I tend to…

Some great sounding soups here. Bumping for later.

Thank you all for your swift answers. I just did the evening mile and while I really didn't break a sweat as I would with an outdoor walk, I can feel that my heart rate is up and my legs feel like they have had a decent workout. My dad told me he would give me the 2 mile tapes after I got tired of the 4 one mile tapes. At…

Thank you for taking the time to reply heybales. I think for now I'll just stick with counting my pulse as I have been doing for a long time and trying to make sure I'm at least moving every day.

Before buying a heart rate monitor, I have a few questions I haven't seen addressed here or on the websites I've checked. 1) Do the electrodes use adhesive of any type to attach to the skin? Not interested in aggravating my adhesive allergies if this is the case. 2) I have always had problems wearing watches; I seem to…

Wow, thanks for all the great recipes and ideas. I had never thought to use these like this. Now I'm mentally reviewing the leftovers in my fridge and thinking of making the mystery wontons. Adds a new dimension to the refrigerator surprise meals we have when there is not enough leftover for everyone, but too much for one…
