Wow! Impressive. Guess you don’t need any of us to tell you well done, but I’ll say it anyway...well done!

Wow, you look great! I’m sure you are an inspiration to many!

Sure she seems like a nice young lady! ;)

I am so so sorry for your loss. I know that she is looking down and supporting you on the health/weight loss journey. Nathalie will never really be gone as long as you hold her memory in your heart. My thoughts and prayers for out to you and your family.

Gonna have to agree with guitarharry on this one. May I just add that the amount of time that you spent writing this and reading and responding to ALL of the kind people who are trying to help you...you coulda exercised! Maybe I'm the only tough love guy here...but try exercising for a few weeks...I have a feeling that it…

I have a Vivofit and my wife uses a Fitbit. She had the fitbit for months before I got mine, I kinda used her as a demo to see if I would like it. First it is important to say that she likes hers. She only uses it for step tracking though. I love the Vivofit! It just has so many features that the fitbit doesn't have. 1.…

As a veteran and the father of an active servicemen I understand first hand about love ones being far away. I think both of your ideas are fine. The more personal the better. Even in this day and age of high tech nothing beats a home made food care package and a hand written letter. Please tell your boyfriend we thank him…

When I first started this I wasn't clear on the "cup" meaning either. Also to all the responders...if the question is being asked many times perhaps it isn't clear. Maybe it should be switched to 8 oz or even 236 ml or maybe 8 oz/236 ml. That way the term "cup" wouldn't confuse new MFP members. Perhaps we could respond to…

Congrats my friend...you deserve it!

This. We all have a desire to help others and we all know that this has been a journey...some of it difficult, some of it not so much. That is why we fall into the trap of explaining the simplicity of what we are actually doing. Without sounding harsh...there are just a lot of lazy people out there. I know I was when it…

My wife has the Fitbit (which she likes). I waited about six months for her to try it out and then deduced to look into getting one myself. After much hunting I steeled on the Garmin Vivofit. It does everything plus more that the Fitbit does. 1. I like that it has a heart rate monitor which I use daily. 2. I like that it…

Kathy, Glad you are recommitting! Everyone has these periods...me included! The ultimate goal is to reach your fitness goals...and not in a specific period of time. Everyone focuses on time...but I think its more realistic to keep plodding away through the good and bad times and ultimately reach your goal. Remember...your…

Welcome...or should I say welcome back! It sounds to me like you've got most of this figured out. Getting advise is always good, but I think most forget that we are all very different. I would suggest being true and honest with yourself. It sounds like your workouts are a big key to your success...so commit to staying with…

Funny...reading the OP I was hoping you would chime in my friend ;)

Ahhh...I am always glad when MFP members use links to support their conclusions, BUT you do realize that this is just a guy who claims to be into fitness and is NOT a medical professional! I am pretty sure they don't swear in medical journals anyway...and I read a lot of them at our medical practice. As far as the OP's…

Thank you for your service!

I have lost all my weight to date only walking. It is a little time consuming but definitely works and is a great way to start! Good luck!

Go to see the play A Christmas Carol. It's a family tradition…my boys, now all grown up, don't remember a time when we didn't see it on Christmas Eve! Merry Christmas to all!

What kind words…better grow a thicker skin AND a sense of humor if I'm going to last in this community? So mentioning that a comment is sexist means not only don't I have a "thick" skin, nor a sense of humor AND I am now not going to make my weight loss and fitness goals? Wow…that's just lovely and right around the…
