  • Whatever makes you work out harder and allows you to enjoy it more.
  • I woh f/t, have a 4(almost 5) yo and a 7.5yo, and a husband. I commute 2h/day. I work out 6-7days a week. I get home around 5:30 (leave at 6:30a), feed the kids (dh doesn't come home until 7/7:30, I eat w/ him then). I work out after kids eat (they watch tv or play). I have a treadmill, but often due workout dvds. On the…
  • There are lots of exercise dvds. I really like jackie warner workouts (did them prior to starting p90x).
  • YOu may need to take a closer look at what you're eating. Consider opening your diary for input...
  • How cold is cold? i don't mind running in the rain, but not when it's cold. Doens't help you, but I'd be running on my treadmill (don't belong to a gym) or do P90X workout and save my run for a nicer day.
  • Bought P90X and P90X+ off beachbody.com They definitely kicked my work outs up a notch (or 10), previously was doing jackie Warner workouts in addition to running 3-4times a week. I did P90X twice (ran twice a week on my cardio days). I'm doing P90X+ now, and run 4miles each weekend day. I usually don't have a rest day…
  • This is really a question for your ob/gyn who presumably performed the surgery.
  • I liked it (enough to do it twice). I wanted more cardio then the classic version allows. I do like strengthening, and have notice vast improvements in my upper body. I'm not going for size, so Lean fit the bill. I'm now doing P90X+ and really love it - shorter workouts, a bit more intense, better cardio. Will go onto…
  • Exactly!!! I have done it twice through (the lean version, which some will say is the sissy way to do it, LOL).
  • I've been using an FT4 for a few months. From what I've heard, a chest strap is a must for accurate calculations/tracking. The FT4's strap is comfortable and machine washable.
  • I did 2 rounds of P90x (lean) and now on my 2nd week of P90X+ Eventually will move onto P90X2
  • There's a lot of people who gain weight initially with P90X - lots of muscle breakdown, fluid retention. IGNORE THE SCALE. Do you feel/look like you've put on 11lb of fat? I doubt it. Don't give up on yourself. Focus on your goal - a stronger, healthier you!
  • You make the time. Of course it can be more challenging if you work out of the home f/t and have young children. I either work out at 5a or after i feed the kids dinner (they eat at 5:30, I wait for my husband to get home from work, around 7/7:30 usually). I run (outdoors preferred, but in the northeast, so end up indoors…
  • Sounds like you aren't eating enough. Aim for net of 1200cal/day. Do more strength training in addition to cardio.
  • I'm a 5'3" female, weight ~132#, and the treadmill says I burn 150-250 cal more than my HRM. I do not trust machines to tel lme how much i burn - they don't know my age/weight/sex/heartrate, so how could they be accurate, kwim?
  • If your diet is otherwise on track, I'd splurge on that one cookie (just keep it to one). I'd rather eat one smallish "real" cc cookie than anything "diet". You can try to eat some fruit when you get the urge for something sweet, and if that doens't work, I'd go for the cookie. I'm not big on deprivation.
  • Have you never introduced a bottle to her before? If that's the case, getting her to take it at 8mo may be quite difficult. My youngest never took a bottle, I ended up putting EBM (cold, she didn't like it warm unless it was "from the tap") in a sippy when she was 6mo old (I was working f/t and she was in daycare, I'd…
  • MFP does not take into consideration your effort (heartrate, essentially).
  • Being 5'4" and 128lb is a good weight, especially if you are fit otherwise. Can you shake up your workout routine? Do 30DS a couple days a week, and more intense cardio a couple days? Honestly, I would not focus on the number on the scale, but how you look and feel.
  • During the week (when I'm at work), I log as I go for the most part. I'll log onto the computer after dinner (at home) and log the rest of my day and exercise. On the weekends, my logging is sucky. I don't like the phone app and don't like to log there, but often get busy and forget to log on the PC (pretty good at logging…
  • I'd say P90X. I also was a JW devotee, then went to P90X, still not ready for INsanity (not sure if I every will be - i've watched my sister do it and wanted to die on her behalf!). I still am quite challenged by the Plyo workout in P90X, and Insanity looks to me like Plyo on crack
  • What net are you trying to reach? How many calories do you anticipate burning during exercise? I honestly never have this problem, my net should be 1200-1300 cal and i rarely have trouble meeting that. I wish that were the case some days.
  • I would never not exercise just b/c I was worried about my calorie defecit. If you feel up to it, do it. Have a protein shake after or a handful of almonds and some string cheese if you feel you "should" be eating more.
  • I didn't see any changes until i was almost done with my first go-around. I'm still "waiting" to see some changes in my abs (my only real disappointment with the program). I'm probably to blame, as I don't follow their diet although I've definitely made strides in increasing my protein intake and watching my overall…
  • Almost done round 2, going to give P90X Plus a spin when I'm done. I'm in!
  • A look at your diary shows a lot of 1400cal days, maybe cut it by 100cal? You don't track sodium, but you may be eating foods high in salt - you may want to add that to your tracker. Yoga imo, isn't a great weight loss mechanism (i'm sure some will argue with me). I'd do it once or twice a week, and do more cardio (aim for…
  • LIking my POlar FT4, it's easy to use, not too pricey and does what I want it to (record the duration, cal burn and heartrate of my workouts).
  • If your kids are little, do they nap? I'd do an exercise dvd during that time. If they don't nap, do they have quiet time? Would they watch a tv show or movie while you work out ? - i have a 4y and 7y, and work out in the next room every day while they watch a show and play. It's worked for over a year (-: Alternatively,…
  • 2500mg sodium per day is the max you should take. under 2000 should be your goal. good luck!!!
  • If you are logging everything, then you are not eating enough - a couple days I saw you left 1000+ calories on the table. And while everyone is different, I never get more than a 450 calorie burn doing any P90X workout (that includes Plyo) - I use a HRM as well.
