I walked by a large mirror in a store and had to stop and walk back to it when I wasn't sure I recognized my own face! ' A week later my 8 year old daughter said that I was getting more beautiful everyday she came home from school and she thought it was because 'the puffiness was melting away with the snow'. My husband has…

my husband has a New Balance HRM and personally, I don't think it's very accurate. He gets very different readings and sometimes it doesn't read at all. I have a Polar FT7 and I LOVE IT! Would recommend it to anyone at around $100. REI currently has a 20% off for members and with free shipping you'd be paying around $80.…

At least 3Ls a day for me which is recommended for nursing mothers (me) but I intend to keep it up after my little one is weaned. I've seen bigger weight loss numbers since I really started tracking how much water I drink. I read a post on Jillian Michaels Facebook page today that says it all.... Jillian Michaels Smart…

That is what it is all about. It keeps life in perspective. You are an inspiration. Keep up the 'good works'.

As a mother to 2 daughters, I've often thought about getting involved in our church cub scout troop to familiarize myself with handling little boys. I have 5 nieces and not much experience with boys. If I ever have another child and it turns out to be a boy....I'll be so clueless!

I may need to look into doing something like this. You never know when you might have the opportunity to help someone else's grandma. I can't imagine how many times things like that must happen across the country.

Contact your local nursing homes. They LOVE having pets visit. I take my cat to the nursing home that my mother works at and they just love her to pieces!

If my family would allow, I would LOVE to do this for pugs. Pugs are just awesome little dogs.

and you, my dear, sound amazing!!!

LOL!!! When I started reading this, I wondered....
-
THAT is awesome. I would totally screw up reading anything out loud, I think.

That is incredibly sweet. I wish there was something like that near my grandma. She is alone much of the time and too far for me to travel often. Recently, she fell and couldn't get herself up and had been laying for hours! Worse part about it was my older aunt is living with her and never bothered to check on her. I will…

Unfortunately, I acquired what I refer to as 'battle scars' (stretch marks) that are terrible and probably will keep me from wearing a bikini for the rest of my life. I have found tanning has helped along with plenty of exercise and ab work. I use a tanning lotion that helps 'firm' things up. I always had the 'pouch' after…

How can typed words have a 'tone'? Can you hear me talking as you read? I don't think. So it's fair to say that all of this is assumptions. We all read things differently and clearly, some people misunderstood but how does it make it okay to continue to be insulted?
-
again, you didnt read very well. Every woman in my family has a thyroid disease. I wish everyone would stop. Everyone has taken it too too far and no one has stopped to read all the postings to even understand the entirety of things. I find it insulting that I'm told that my mother and I ate too much when I know for a fact…

If anyone bothered to read completely through they would see that more people agree than disagree. With that being said, I need to say that I value other's opinions which was why I posted in the first place. I don't, however, value someone's ability to insult me. If you could see the messages I've received being called…

I wanted everyone to know that with all these really mean things being sad about me, I'll probably be going off of MFP. Thanks for all the motivating energy and positive thoughts for just accepting my opinion or my thoughts or for just leaving it alone. I appreciate all the sense of humor many of these postings but none of…

You need to go back and take notice. I wasn't worked up over anything. Your original posting was worked up.

I once seen a posting 'carrying watermelon in the house, 25 calories'.... and then later I seen half of a large watermelon in their food diary. This was on another site like this one. Crazy!!! Some peoples way of thinking shows just how they got where they are at. Granted, there will always be the exceptions for certain…

So then, why does it take you over 5 posts to just simply say "I disagree" ? And then, why are you not seeing the humor in any of this like the majority of all the other posters? And then, why are YOU taking it so seriously if you are so happy? And then, why do you feel the need to keep telling me that I was preaching when…

LOL... this is great. I've always had a 'flat' behind but I have found that with biking and doing Jillian Michaels DVDs I'm starting to get a butt! G'luck with putting the junk back in your trunk.

If breastfeeding was exercise, there would be no divorces! (Sorry, my husband made me say it. LOL) I know someone right now with a 3 month old who is below her pre-pregnancy weight and all she does is breastfeed and log her calories and making sure she eats back what she estimates breastfeeding burns for her. It's amazing!…

Good plan! I should post an ad. Headline, "FREE! Calorie burning exercise! all you have to do is clean my house for an hour!"
-
First off, you are assuming too much. You are being outrageously rude. I didn't gain 50 lbs by the foods I ate. I grew up with healthy clean eating ONLY. We couldn't afford any extras or junk. I carried those eating habits into my adult life. I gained because I had 2 kids and genetics. I even had a few years of trying out…

While I was doing all of that, I put on 50 lbs. My mom had 4 kids and a 6 bed room house to maintain for 30 years, she put on 150 lbs. I really doubt that approach will work for me. It might for others tho! So G'luck with that. I wish it could be that easy for me but genetics tell me otherwise.

If I thought I was better than anyone here, I wouldn't be here. I'd be busy modeling my bod for Vogue or strutting myself in a bikini down main street but alas, I'm still the little fat girl chasing my daughters around my unkept house while trying to toss in a exercise routine between diaper changes and homework and…

Exactly! lol ...but I have wondered if I exert myself to the extreme, tossed on some loud techno music and put on my sneakers and tried it in turbo speed (like we do when finding out the mother in law is on the way), and did it everyday if I could toss out my workout dvd's. I mean, after all, I've had to let some chores go…

As a mommy who is breastfeeding her 14 month old daughter, I can tell you that I lost all of my post baby weight with breastfeeding so I know that recording breastfeeding as exercise is REAL. I record it as 300 cals burned now that she is older and I got the 'okay' from my doctor. So yes, I eat those calories because my…

Was not my intentions. I do agree that everyone is different. I do agree that some of those things are exercise for people. But I was just stating my own opinion from my own experiences. I don't really care what others are doing with their time but I do care when it becomes an everyday complaint from that person about why…

I might just set my activity level at sedentary so I can justify logging every time I do laundry downstairs and put my baby to bed upstairs. Way to enable and justify! I don't mean to sound rude if I do, BUT! My mom is one to justify EVERYTHING! and she puts down sedentary as her activity level and then tells herself that…
