  • Looking for friends! Recipe swaps welcome!
  • How many servings is that nutritional for? Looks awesome!
  • I started going to the Kaiser Healthy Balance class and they use 'The Ultimate Volumetrics Diet' book, which is pretty much all the good stuff you learns to do here at MFP, with a strong focus on increasing your fruits and veggies. The recipes in there have been great! Very filling and nutritious.
  • Always looking for friends to help each other stick with it! Feel free to add me
  • Yeah it's hard, and I think it might be harder now to have had the success and all of a sudden feel like I don't know what I'm doing anymore! This is the third time I've actively tried to lose weight, so I'm really glad to have come this far. Lowest I've weighed in my adult life thanks to MFP, but I've still got a ways to…
  • I weigh the pan or bowl or whatever I cook or mix everything in before I put anything in it, then when done cooking, weigh the whole thing and subtract the pan weight. Use that as number of servings, and any recipe I do that for, I write 'by gram' in the title.
  • Eat less than you burn and eat the fruit! I love summer fruit, we've got amazing watermelon, blueberries, cherries, peaches, etc etc etc! Fruit is great! Definitely a better snack than chips.

  • OMG... mind = blown Thank you!
  • One more for these! They make my lunchbag a little heavy, but are a great asset in my kitchen.
  • For me, I count the day as when I wake up until I go to bed for the night (morning). I work 2nd and 3rd a lot too, so I just shift when I'm sleeping. I had my diary set up so the meals were labeled as times which were in 3 hour increments starting at 9 am, except the time I planned on being asleep for most of the window,…
  • @aSearch4Me‌ & @satansees‌ thank you for the tips! I will keep these in mind when I start bento-ing. The husband says he is planning on doing little lettuce wraps next week (we take turns making lunches), so that sounds like a good start! Got my cart full last night after talking to a coworker about home-made kimchi (added…
  • Ok, I'm in. I've been lurking on this thread for a few days now and you've all inspired me. I've been bringing my lunch to work for years, but like many others it involves lots of half full individual containers. I would like to get a bento box like I see on Amazon, but I don't know if it would be enough food for me as I…
  • Use what you know so far to make good choices. Focus on items that are veggie/fruit/protein heavy (like eggs and a cup of fruit for breakfast for example). A lot of restaurants in the LA area have healthy choices, and chains have to post their nutritional information. Don't eat the whole plate if it's too big for you, you…
  • I love cauliflower! When I feel like pasta but want something more filling I either use spaghetti squash or cauliflower and then find a pasta recipe that sounds good and sub it in. There's been some great ones, but literally it is just a google search for a pasta recipe for me.
  • We buy a lot more produce and protein, but we also buy a lot less pre-packaged foods and things. I know I spend less now than what I did before reformatting our grocery shopping/cooking habits. I definitely recommend going to Costco or similar warehouse store and buying proteins like chicken, turkey, beef, fish in bulk and…
  • Old Navy! great stuff, really holds up and keeps me comfortable. I sweat a lot, so a loose tshirt makes me really uncomfortable when I'm working out.
  • Bump! I love spaghetti squash! I find awesome looking pasta recipes and sub in the squash for pasta most of the time. This was my favorite one recently: http://www.keyingredient.com/recipes/1535745032/fiesta-chicken-pasta/
  • Sent you a message and a FR! I also have a similar story. It can be done! You can do it!
  • Yum! I love using 'caulirice' as you dubbed it! This sounds great!
  • Good luck OP! You can do it!
  • I do 15,000 steps a day and have it set at lightly active, but it's just barely there. If you're barely reaching 10k, I would stick with sedentary.
  • So you're not overweight, you have a lot of muscle? Because those tests don't typically involve looking at your body fat % which is probably relatively low compared to the generic height/weight calculation. If you know what you feel/look best at then just shoot for that and don't worry about the label.
  • Congrats! That's awesome! I'm at 92, I can't wait til I break that point, so I feel you, it's a great accomplishment!
  • I do something similar. I weigh out all the raw ingredients and add them to the recipe builder, then at the end once the finished product is cooked I weigh the entire recipe in grams, and use that as the number of servings. Then when I take a portion for lunch, I just weigh out how much I took. That's as accurate as I can…
  • Just wanted to say that I made this for lunches this week and it's awesome! Thank you so much for the recipe! Truly excellent soup.
  • I also find it incredibly strange. Its like a religion or politics with people, they won't listen to reason and factual information because this way sounds best to them.
  • Thanks for the recipes all! This is a great resource!
  • I cook on my weekends, then I can take my time, but otherwise, most meat you can just throw in the over and it doesn't take much effort. Frozen/canned veggies can heated in a microwave. I like eggs, they are nice and simple and quick to cook as well.
  • TBH sometimes moderation doesn't work and that's ok. I like chips. If there are chips in the house unless they are in personal size bags, I will eat the entire bag and not think about it, which means I don't log it. But like @Wenchiness suggested, keep fun sized around. It's a lot easier to say, hey I'm eating 1x bag at…
