  • The next time b she mentions she wants to go the gym with you, I'd ask what exactly she'd be interested in doing. If she is more interested in cardio vs weights, she's probably more likely to go if you suggest focusing on that, at least at the beginning. I personally think drop in classes at the gym are perfect for people…
  • Maybe you can volunteer to supply some of the items for meals? It is only three days, I am sure if you just try to be conscious of your food choices, three days won't do any irreversible damage to your progress :)
  • I feel blessed to live in a country where we struggle with a surplus of food, versus living in a country / situation where I don't know when or where my next meal is coming from. I also feel blessed that my boyfriend is beginning to join me in my attempt at living healthier :) definitely helps me keep chugging along in…
  • Sorry for any errors, typing on a new touch screen phone.
  • I have anxiety, for me I usually have long periods (weeks to months) of mild anxiety, punctuated by shorter periods of intense anxiety ( usually lasting a few days or weeks, it varies. One of my triggers is/ was food so I prelog in the morning or the night before, one less thing to worry about. Also allows me to figure out…
  • Thank you for the replies everyone, sorry to clear it up : I was 142 when i first joined in August 2013, for some reason though I noticed my earliest entry save is November 2013 when I was 136 . I think I was going through a phase where I was using the site to track calories, but logging my weight elsewhere. I dropped to…
  • I'm from Ontario and was just thinking the other day is love some Canadian friends! Feel free to add my anyone...particularly if you're in a similar boat to me... I'm 22, 5'4 , was stuck at 135-140 lbs for months , just started cracking down a month ago...working in five lb increment goals...currently @ 133.3 as of last…
  • Sorry accidently quoted myself and I'm not sure how to delete it.
  • Almost every single morning I have a packet of lightly sweetened oatmeal for 110 calories. That , in combination with my cup of tea , usually keeps me going until lunch time. Depending how early I eat breaky, I might have a small morning snack between breakfast and lunch to tide me over.
  • Dont know how slow paced you want it, but I find listening to Til' I Collapse by Eminem pretty motivational while working out .
  • Personally I love Hugo Boss's Hugo for men , and Drakkar Noir.
  • Usually I'll pick a popsugar workout video to do. Some are longer but there are quite a few that are only ten minutes.
  • Oh , also as someone else mentioned, every 4-6 weeks she checks my body fat and measurements for me, and I also do a fitness test , which lets me see how I'm improving.
  • This April will mark one year with my personal trainer, and I've already signed on for another year's worth of sessions. She helped me in more ways than I can think of ,some of it being : having good form, how to set up good circuits for myself when I'm alone, how to push my limits and strive for more progress. Not part of…
  • We don't know him, or your relationship together. It could be his way of showing concern for your health and wanting what is best for you, albeit in an inadvertently rude, controlling way. Possibly he doesn't realise how hurtful his ultimatum is, and just thinks its a great way to motivate you to lose weight and be…
  • You're welcome, good luck on your journey :) Noticing changes is definitely one of the greatest motivators to keep going. (at least, that's what I found).
  • I'm 5'4 , 123 lbs , when I do Zumba (aprox 55 mins)I burn anywhere from 375-575 or so according to my heart rate moniter. Considering you have more weight to lose than I it's fair to say you'd burn more than me, depending how hard you push yourself 620 seems reasonable.
  • On average , once every 2-3 days , sometimes I only have half a serving though. A few months ago I went through a phase where I had it almost everyday at breakfast. If I have it , it's always on a whole wheat or whole grain piece of toast.
  • I'm not on these forums to argue, he had a question and I gave my answer. That's all I was doing. I'm sorry if this came off as offensive in some way:S Have a good/day/night everyone & happy logging.
  • I get water is a part of these things ...it just seems silly to me to count it as pure water :S
  • Sorry , seems I was misinformed .However the fact remains when you are drinking coffee , tea, or juice, you aren't drinking water. You're drinking coffee, tea, or juice. :S I mean if that is how you want to track your food, by all means go for it. I just like to look back and see 'Oh, i drank x amount of cups of water…
  • I only count pure water as water. I definitely would not count coffee, tea, or other caffeinated beverages since they do the opposite of water, and dehydrate you.
  • Mmmm. If I had that many calories left for dinner, I'd probably want something like pasta in a cream sauce . *drool* . Or maybe have one of your regular healthy dinners with a nice dessert after?
  • Perhaps, I think considering the state most of the developed countries are in , that some amount of funding should go towards programs that are designed to teach the whole family how to eat properly(I mean, a professional working one-on-one with these families). If families went through a course like that , and still were…
  • oh wait, sorry , that is something I love and everyone else hates:P
  • Here's another snack idea : make a relatively healthy trail mix, with some nuts, seeds , and dried fruit, and throw in some m&m's or other small chocolates. I agree with the posts about not necessarily making her eat MORE, just more calorie dense foods :) And with the recommendations about not making it a big deal to…
  • I've had this problem too... for me, it was mainly willpower, combined with eating six small "meals" throughout the day that helped curb my inclination to snack at night. I still have one small snack after dinner, but that is it, and I allot calories for it. I'm sorry it isn't a magic answer, I hope it helps you.
