  • Sworkit. It's free, basic and to the point. Has cardio, yoga, stretching, and strength moves. You choose the workout and duration, they give you the moves and set the timer to tell you what to do when. Have your playlist going at the same time and you're good. Its kind of like a cross between HIIT training, Insanity,…
  • Check out Jamie Eason LiveFit. It's a strength training and diet program and it's completely free. It helped me out sooo much when I joined the gym. It lays out a schedule for you, food suggestions and each exercise has a video you can look at if you're not sure how to perform it.
  • I have a free app called Sworkit. They have a stretching routine that you can do, plus lots of other routines that are useful for a good burn when you're short on time. If you get bored with Jillian or another type of cardio you can do one of those to mix it up. Good when you're snowed in too.
  • It's crazy expensive. You do not need this AT ALL to lose weight.
  • Stevia or Monk fruit. I get the store brand Stevia and use 1tsp per 9oz with one or two TBS flavored creamer and it's sweet.
  • I've done the Shred, Body Revolution and Insanity all barefoot, on carpet. Much better in my opinion.
  • I agree. Lift weights. Eat enough to fuel your workout but at a deficit so you lose fat. Take measurements before you start and focus on how your clothes fit rather than the number on the scale. You'll likely see inches lost before lbs lost.
  • Just putting it out there I started Insanity at 207 lbs and was able to complete it, I think it gave me a great base to start strength training. Not saying you should do it first, if you want to start SL now by all means go for it! I kinda wish I hadn't put myself through Insanity because it's physically and mentally a…
  • Try wrapping it in foil and then putting it in the grill. I cook mine for about 5 minutes if they're thin, 6 if they're thicker cut. Keep it wrapped in the foil and let it sit for about 2 minutes before eating it. I also like to put picante sauce or salsa mixed with reduced fat sour cream over them after cooking as my…
  • I'm 5'7". My highest weight was 240 and I started losing weight slowly and easily last January. Last July my husband got me a gym membership and I started Jamie Eason's livefit program, completed about 7 weeks but it just started taking up too much time in my day to complete so I quit and started just using my favorite…
  • 15 minute HIIT after SL?! You're a bada$$!
  • I did my first day of SL yesterday, did not start at the recommended weights since I've been lifting weights since July (squatted 75, rowed 50 and bench pressed 50, so I wasn't too crazy with it) then did a 5 minute HIIT right after. Almost didn't make it down the stairs, lol. I unlike you, am not so in shape! I think I'll…
  • Ground chicken chili over cooked quinoa with low fat sour cream and sharp cheddar on top. I make the chili using the McCormick low sodium chili mix according to the package and ground chicken instead of beef.
  • Very filling breakfast smoothie 1 cup frozen berries (like the first poster I get the 3lb bag of strawberries from Sams Club) 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1/4 cup honey granola 1/3 cup Bolthouse farms carrot juice handful of blueberries 1/2 cup greek non fat yogurt (vanilla or mixed berry) 1TBS ground flaxseed…
  • What teas are they? I've been on the hunt for a good green tea that doesn't require sweetener.
  • I initially lost 70 lbs this year but over the holidays I lost all control and gained back 13. I mentioned this in the break room to a co worker while telling her my plans to get back on track (I still have 30 or so to lose) and she said "that's good, you look healthy again. You were looking sickly. Too skinny. You're…
  • Have you tried spaghetti squash? I'm a picky eater too (I'm better now as an adult but I hardly ate any vegetables as a kid) and just recently tried spaghetti squash for the first time and I really like it! I can get a good sized one and cook it up in the microwave (I use this method…
  • 31 yrs old, 5'7". SW 240 January 2013, CW 176. GW 145.
  • Great job everyone! Bumping for later so I can add mine :)
  • I'm doing something similar now. I'm trying to start stronglifts 5x5 3 days a week with JM Body Revolution 2-3 days a week in between SL. Like you, my routine gets turned upside down on a regular basis since I work, my husband works different hours and I have 2 young children who like to fall asleep in the car on the way…
  • Your pics literally made me say "WOW" out loud. Great job girl!
  • Small chili from Wendy's (no cheese or sour cream, no crackers) and an Asiago ranch chicken club, half the bun, grilled chicken. 700 cals and 55gm protein according to the database. You could decrease the cals by skipping the ranch sauce but I don't.
  • I'm doing pretty much what you're doing. My main goal ths year was to lose 70 lbs by November 16th for my sister in laws wedding in which I was a bridesmaid (I didn't want to be a fat bridesmaid, shallow I know) and I met that goal. I was 169 lbs the day of the wedding (started Jan 1 at 240 lbs). Since then Thanksgiving,…
  • I'd suggest getting a FitBit or something like that so you can track your calories burned during the day just being on your feet and being active at work then eat at a deficit tracking your calories consumed on here. If you do that you should lose weight without having to carve out time for "real" exercise. Then just…
  • I forgot about those, those are good too.
  • I like the McDonalds (gasp!) egg white mcmuffin. It's yummy and filling and low on calories as breakfast sandwiches go. I would also stop at Wawa for some fruit and greek yogurt. What I usually eat is oatmeal, my new favorite is the Quaker Real Medleys they take 45 seconds in the microwave, are yummy and filling.
  • A few months back my 3 yr old (then 2 yrs) picked up a black piece of tape and put it around her chest (like a chest strap to a HRM) and said "look mommy. I go exercise. I get fweaty too." LOL Kids are definitely our shadows :)
  • I was thinking the same, eat your calories, don't drink them. Add volume to your diet by eating foods not juices and smoothies, it may help.
  • Veggies and whole grains? I know big salads (lots of greens, some protein, sunflower seeds, cheese, cottage cheese, chicken or tuna) and quinoa, oatmeal, or breakfast sandwiches keep me feeling full for longer than fruit and nuts. And how the heck are you reaching 2000 calories a day eating that little for breakfast, lunch…
  • I'm 5'7.5" and weigh 169. My waist measurement currently is 32" I started at around 39" waist. You can see the difference in my profile pic (not even my highest weight). I'm a pear shape though, not apple. Web MD states that any wiast measurement greater than 32" in a woman is an increased risk of cardiovascular disease…
