  • With fruit: my favorite is strawberries, pineapple, apricots and peaches. With cracker, wheat thins, pita chips or raw veggies: put fresh chopped chives in it to make a yummy dip. On bake sweet potatoes: I put butter or Country Crock with low fat cottage cheese and mash it all together, yummy. On a garden salad: I add a…
  • Not having a double chin in pictures. Running and not hating every second of it. Wearing more form fitting clothes instead of hiding behind open cardis. Having a 2 as the second number in my size instead of the first. Not seeing a 2 as the first number in my weight. Getting compliments! That I won't have to look at my…
  • A great app to try that has a lot of similar exercises and is free is Sworkit. I have done Insanity so I know what it's all about and know what kind of caloric burn I got from each workout. I downloaded Sworkit onto my iPhone and doing 30 minutes of that (high intesity cardio) is a GREAT cardio workout. It also has yoga,…
  • Profile pic <<<<< Not defined abs obviously but much better! My waist went from 38 inches to currently 32, hips from 52 inches to currently 42.
  • I started January 1st at 240lbs, I reached 185 (55 lbs) by July 15th so about 7 months. I had a few too many cheats during those 7 months though so i think if you stick to your diet/exercise it is possible. Either way, if you start today you'll be closer to your goal than you were yesterday. I started off with a 1200…
  • Roasted asparagus. Foil line a baking dish, lay the asparagus in and spray with olive oil, sprinkle garlic over top (or garlic powder), salt, pepper, sqeeze of lemon juice and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes. You can also roast brussel sprouts which I've heard is really good but never tried.
  • Profile pic <<< Still have another 20-30lbs to meet my goal.
  • I love eating the progresso light soups for lunch. On weekends I'll add a sandwich too but while at work I'll have just the soup, as long as I have my 2-3 snacks in between I stay full all day. I have naturally low blood pressure and drink at least 64oz water a day so I don't worry about sodium at all. If you can prep and…
in Soup?!?! Comment by rahlpn November 2013
  • I was very intimidated my first day in the weight room! But I kept my head held up and tried to look confident and now I'm a regular. I started by looking up Jamie Eason's Live Fit, then I just looked at her routines, and they have instructional videos on correct form.
  • Can't wait to join you! I've been in the 170's for a while, weighed in this AM at 172, ugh 3 lbs! C'monnnnn!!!
  • Chips, all kinds, with dip, without, doesn't matter. I have on several occasions eaten a whole bag of salt and vinegar chips to the point that the skin in my mouth was sloughing off  but I didn't care. I have stayed away from chips for the most part this year and I feel and look a lot better for it!
  • Search greek yogurt dressing recipes or use plain cottage cheese. When I add cottage cheese and tuna or shrimp or chicken tomy salad I don't even need dressing. It isn't "sugar free" per se because it is dairy so it contains lactose which is a natural sugar but it doesn't have added or artificial sugars.
  • I'm the mommy of a 4 yr old boy and 2 yr old girl and I work full time. From Nov 2008 to Jan 2013 I was either pregnant, breastfeeding or both. I decided 2013 when I finally weaned my daughter and had my body completely back to myself I needed to change the way I was eating and start exercising. I started slow, using MFP…
  • Running the way you do burns MEGA calories, you should be wearing a heart rate monitor and eating back those exercise calories, 1200 is way to low to sustain that for long.
  • I will second You Tube but there is also an awesome free app called Sworkit that has random workouts including yoga, stretching, cardio warm up and full intensity and strength exercises and it allows you to pick how long you want your workout to last. My friends and I use it and it's an awesome workout. 30 minutes of the…
  • I like homemade pizzas, whole baked chicken and veggies, cooking roasts and stews in my crock pot and I can't wait to really enjoy some hot chocolate! ETA: Oh and homemade mac n cheese!
  • You said "I'm just not eating bad things" then continued to the next paragraph saying "I eat a couple wings or some potato wedges with melted cheese" I'm cofused. Why not pre plan your food and bring a quick bite to work. I'm not gonna lecture you about eating less than 1200cals a day like a lot of people do on here…
  • Big congrats! My mom suffers from MS and its heartbreaking to watch how debilitating a disease it is. She was able to live a semi normal life but was not active and didn't watch her diet. I implore you to do both. At such a young age and keeping with healthy life choices you should do very well! Keep it up!!
  • I love a salad with a pouch of tuna, 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese and a greek yogurt based dressing, lots of protein there! I have also found that Kroger lite greek yogurt has the least amount of calories and most protein of the greek yogurts they carry.
  • You are pear shaped like me so I feel your pain. It took me over 30lbs to lose a pant size but I could see big changes in my neck, face, collarbone, etc. The first place I lose is my face and boobs :( and the last place is my hips/butt/legs/belly. It makes us great baby makers/carriers though! I do see a big difference in…
  • I started losing weight at 240 but didn't take measurements until I was 230. At 230 my measurements were 41-38-52. I am now 178 lbs and my latest measurements are 35-32.5-43.5. Both are equally important to me as I tend to lose pounds and inches at the same time, I attribute it to a good mix of lifting and cardio.
  • Just finished week 6, so I'm starting week 7 today. I have lost 2 inches from my waist and hips, haven't gained any or lost any in my arms or legs but in pics but they are much more defined (not bigger). Lost 7 lbs so far, I feel a lot less "puffy" than I did 6 weeks ago and my clothes are definitely looser! I started at…
  • Here's my Insanity story. My goal weight is 145-155, I started Insanity at 207lbs. I'm currently 179.8. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1038467-i-completed-insanity I'm getting great results with Jamie Easons LiveFit Trainer program as a guide right now, I'm halfway through it and I've lost 7lbs, and 2inches off my…
  • Dark chocolate almond milk and Snackwells
  • My go to protein foods are eggs (I started adding a hard boiled egg to my regular breakfast), greek yogurt (for the off brands Kroger tastes good and has about 16g in some of the flavors), almonds, low fat cottage cheese, grilled chicken (I like to add low fat sour cream and picante sauce for flavor), grilled tilapia,…
  • I actually tried it a few weeks back on a "treat day" had it with chili cheese tots and a PB milkshake, lol. Not worth it, I won't be having it again, however, I will do the shake and tots again, lol. No food is "bad" having unhealthy food ALL THE TIME is bad, every once in a while is acceptable.
  • Your diet sounds like my 2 year olds ideal diet...or mine when I was 5. I agree with the first reply, time to grow up and try new things. You may surprise yourself with what you've been missing. When I met my husband I wouldn't touch seafood, the smell was awful and off-putting. So he brought me to a marina for dinner and…
  • Convenience and price. If I'm hungry like, want food NOW and I can stop somewhere and get a baked potato and chili for $5 instead of driving to the store and buying stuff to make chili and baking a potato I stop at Wendy's. Same thing for burgers. I have to make sure I have the ingredients on hand and if it's just me and I…
