  • 190 days today and 53lbs down...YES it works!
  • That is AMAZING progress!!! And in only 4 months?! Your body shape is changing so much and you even look like you're standing taller. Can't wait to see your pics come October!
  • Everyone prefers something different, just try it with what you have. I did it barefoot on carpet. I didn't like how my feet felt in shoes on the carpet. I've also heard people say that shoes made for step aerobics work well, like Pumas or Asics. And try not to be nervous, I know I was at first too, I still weighed 207 lbs…
  • I agree, focus on body fat % instead of weight. Maybe consult a trainer at the gym or a physical therapist about what types of resistance training you can do to increase strength and toning. Just for reference I'm 5'7" and I weigh 187 currently (profile pic), I'm nowhere near my goal (145-155) but I don't think even at…
  • My results pics are in this post: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1038467-i-completed-insanity
  • Check out Jamie Eason Livefit, it's free and she has a ton of good recipes and meal plans.
  • Go Pats! I joined a gym and am now incorporating resistance (using the TRX bands) and body pump classes and swimming for cardio. I need to work on strength now that Insanity has given me a better foundation. Hopefully that will help me shed inches and decrease my body fat percentage.
  • There's a huge difference and might I add your curves allow you to wear 288 lbs WELL!! I struggled with this also, lost 30+ lbs and only went down one dress size, I'm now down 53lbs and down TWO dress sizes. I tend to lose in my upper body before I lose around the middle/bottom so I blame it on that. I also was only doing…
  • You can go under "exercise" then click "my exercises" then "create exercise" and plug in the numbers if you know the calories burned or you can put in the minutes and let MFP estimate the calories. With the app just hit "add" then choose cardio or strength and scroll to the bottom it should say "create a new exercise" then…
  • I have a friend who did it and got amazing results. She highly recommends this program. Good luck!
  • Not "hot" YET, but I'm working on it ;) Great job everyone, we've got some definite hotties in here!
  • OK tried it again with no luck. They are normal sized when I go to MFP on my phone but not from my PC, weird. Thanks!
  • OK I resized all the pics but only one was the right size, sorry, I hate posting pics on here!
  • I have 2 pairs of size 14 jeans, one by Tommy Hilfiger and one by DKNY, they run very small. I went to Old Navy yesterday and can fit into a 14 there with room to spare but my old jeans, nope. I want to fit in those with room to spare. I would also like to wear those cute little tops and dresses that have belts around the…
  • I did the schedule as it's written out. 6 days straight then one day off. You can google "Insanity schedule" and print it out so you know what DVD to do on which day.
  • My thoughts? I started the program in early April weighing 207 lbs (I'm 5'7"). I thought I wasn't in shape enough to do it but I was determined to do what I could. I religiously did month one and the recovery week, lost 11lbs but not a lot of inches. I wasn't following the food plan because I borrowed the DVDs from a…
  • I recently found Morning Star chipotle black bean burgers, so yummy! One patty is 210 cals and it's big. They are microwavable so I just wrap one in foil and go then microwave it at lunch time. I eat it on a multigrain sandwich thin (100cals) with lettuce, add tomato if you like, so total 310 calories, add whatever side…

  • Just curious, what brand of protein shake do you use. I'm looking for inexpensive yet effective. I just started adding weight/resistance training into my routine and I need to add protein as I lack every single day.
  • Could TOM be right around the corner? I notice I get ravenous right before and the first few days of TOM. I hate TOM...lol
  • It's also not that expensive (IMO), for a quick middle of the week dinner if I don't feel like cooking I can usually go to Farm Fresh and get 1lb steamed there so I don't have to cook it, enough for the whole family and if it's on sale it's about $6.99/lb. Then I just make steamed veggies to go with.
  • Maybe because they are higher in sodium? Some people need to monitor sodium intake for health reasons or because they tend to retain water weight. 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp has about 336mg sodium vs. 55mg per 4oz chicken breast. It does however have a ton of protein so if you're not worried about sodium I say go for it.…
  • I like to have low fat cottage cheese mixed with chives on my salad, you can add salt and pepper to taste if you like. Not "fat free" but it's close. Or like others suggested, lemon/lime juice.
  • BJs sells quinoa in a huge bag, pre rinsed, I don't remember how much it cost but I know it wasn't expensive. Trader Joe's also sells it pretty cheap, around $3.60 per bag (it goes a long way). I LOVE quinoa and there are so many ways to eat it.
  • This pizza place Salvatore's has HUGE pizzas and a slice is too big to fit on a plate, the amount of cheese sliding off is insane and their garlic knots are filled, literally filled with garlic butter so that when you bite into them it drips down your arm  Also sour cream and cheedar or sour cream and onion chips,…
  • Nope, treadmills SUCK!! I just joined a gym and had a free personal trainer session yesterday. Guy told me I had to warm up on the treadmill for 5 minutes. Bumped it up to 5 incline at 3.5, after 5 minutes I wasn't even breathing hard so he said we gotta go faster, bumped me up to 5 and left me there. I did a total of 12…
  • Sounds yummy! I like putting my chili over quinoa and adding cheese and a dallop of sour cream on top, mmm.
  • Did a search and found this post. I just joined a gym and LOVE both body pump and swimming. I did body pump for the first time in years on Sunday and I'm still sore (good thing I think, lol). I want to swim laps on the days in between. How is it going for you OP? Seeing good results so far?
  • I got a huge bag of sea salt veggie straws yesterday at Sam's Club, 38 straws for 130 cals. Helped with my craving. Or I just buy the already pre packaged 1oz. bags that are one serving for around 140-150 cals.
