I was also wondering about this. I know some diet plans that suggest limiting dairy to one serving a day. And the explanation was something about it messing with hormone (soy is supposed to that as well). But it all seemed very vague...

Don't be envious. It's sixteen days of insanely drunk people and puke everywhere. The place is horribly crowded and the beer waaay overpriced. I like to go there a couple of times but if to really enjoy a beer or two or 21 I'd prefer other places. Hey, if this thread isn't dead by then, I might even post a picture of me…

Oktoberfest starts in two days... Since I live right next to it I won't have a choice but to beer a lot for 16 days. Wow.

I'm gonna be in London 4th of December 10 pm.

By the way, it's normal for Oktoberfest to take place in September ;-)

I love alcohol but since they haven't invented a calorie free version yet, I had to severely cut back... I'm doing fine with drinking much less except for when I hang out with certain friends that ALWAYS drink. So for now I only see those friends every couple of weeks or so. Can't be a long term solution though... I really…

Most of the beers mentioned in this thread seem like gimmicky beers to me. The German purity law doesn't allow gimmicky beers so I really can't judge much what would be gimmicky good or gimmicky bad. I tried pumpkin beer only once and it was good but not what I'd typically expect from a beer. I try local beers wherever I…

My cousin asked: "How do you lose weight? Is it through exercise and nutrition?" Seriously, if there is any other way, will somebody PLEASE tell me??

There is plenty of new evidence that breakfast is by far not as important as we used to think. I do intermittent fasting where you limit your food intake to a time window of 8 hours. I eat breakfast maybe once a month. If you struggle to eat in the morning, don't torture yourself. It doesn't really matter that much. Enjoy…

Thanks for all the answers. I find it very reassuring that MFP seems to be correct or too low for many people. :-)

In for great ideas

Gazpacho - a Spanish vegetable soup that is eaten cold

Potato salad. Egg salad. Hard boiled eggs in general.

Filling salads like couscous salad or pasta salad. Many great variations of these. Also there are endless possibilities to do wraps. If you like raw veggies with dips, you can play around with that. Hummus! Hummus with everything :-D One thing I like to do is cut half a cucumber and a whole bell pepper and mix it with a…

Like with most things there are also different approaches to eating. None of them can generally be called better than one of the others. Each method has its pros and cons. It always depends on preference, the circumstances and the goals. Some form of intermittent fasting where all calories are consumed in a short time…

Thanks guys! It's great to hear that some of you can eat way more than MFP estimates :-) I know activity is a big part of maintaining but with a busy office job there is only so much I can do... Hopefully I can figure something out once I get there.

So I had my last time of workout 3 today. Well, at least technically. I watched workout 5 to know the routine before attempting it for the first time and now I'm really afraid to move on. I still can't do military push ups... Changing from workout 1&2 to 3&4 was a challenge but it was doable. Workout 5 looks soooo much…

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I't really interesting to hear how everyone differs... I must admit that I'm a bit scared of ever reaching my goal because quite a few people have told me that maintaining is even more difficult than losing...

I like to eat muesli with a multi-fruit-juice instead of milk and add a portion of cottage cheese...

Haha! The beer is amazing for sure. Unfortunately it just too easy for me to consume more than 1000 calories just in beer. And that is more than half my daily maintenance calories... Ugh!

Is this lunch for the helpers of the fundraiser or for people funding? Make a sort of sandwich bar, where people can assemble their own sandwiches: Just provide cut veggies, cheese, meats, different breads and sauces and let people decide how they like it. Avoids the problem of everybody not liking at least one thing in…

What kind of kitchen do you have to prepare this? How many helpers do you have in the kitchen. Anything that you can cook in bulk in very large pots. We cook Chili in two large pots for 50 people. Add some bread and sour cream. Cheap, popular and healthy. Goulash is another option. For running conventions we make a…

^THIS I love hummus though. Why ruin it by putting beets in it? Plain hummus looks like dirt. Not pretty. But yummy nonetheless.

Of course does pressure on the body influence its shape. That's how corsets work, too. If you wear a corset for more than 8 hours a day for several months, your waist also gets smaller permanently. So it's not absurd at all to expect your preferred sleeping position of many years to have an effect.

It sounds to me like food tremendously confuses and scares you. So maybe it would be a good idea to not only seek medical but also psychological advice to help you sort it all out? Your weight for your height seems really really low. Those 'rolls' when you sit most likely are not fat at all but just skin. Eating a lot in a…

Is there any free PiYo workout online? Or at least like a 10 minute part of it? I like to try how a workout 'feel' before I spend all that money on it. I really love that the FireStarter from TurboFire is available online. I bought the program and am very happy with it. Now I would like to do something to improve…

Do you know any exercise that I could do while watching TV that doesn't need huge equipment? Jumping rope seems to exhausting to do for a long time and walking in place seems just... boring?

Thank you. :-)

It was my understanding that the 3500 factors in the energy the body needs to make the >4000 cals of pure fat available where needed? Have to recheck that. Edit: It seems that body fat only contains 80%-85% of pure fat. The rest being water and other stuff the body binds with fat. So when talking about losing fat free mass…
