Are you weighing out your food or are you estimating? It's amazing how skewed our perception of what a serving actually is on some things. ETA ~ We posted at the same time :) Definitely invest in a scale. It can be a game changer!

I lost about 30 pounds with the Fitbit several years ago and now have a Flex that I LOVE. I typically only take mine off the charge it. It's a great motivator and I find myself pushing a little harder when I see that I have four of five lights blinking to indicate progress toward my daily goal.

Yesterday I made my own homemade ranch dip and it was delicious. I just eyeballed the spices, but I took 2 tbsp. of yogurt and mixed in dried dill, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried parsley. I smeared it on a whole wheat tortilla and added boiled shredded chicken for a wrap. It was really good and probably less sodium…

You can't let one bad day throw you off track. As long as you have more good days than bad days, you're in good shape.

^^^ This. I have been with my husband for 11 years. In that time I have gone from 170 down to 140 up to 240 and now I'm on my way back down. There have been times all along the way that I didn't feel attractive or good about myself. He never fails to remind me that if he didn't love me he wouldn't be with me, and he loves…

Unless you're using a food scale, chances are that your calorie estimates are off and you're eating more than you think you are.
-
I try to each back at least 1/2 of them. If I'm hungry, I'll eat them all back. It just depends on how I'm feeling that day.

It's totally normal, especially if you have a lot to lose. I've lost around 10 pounds as well and haven't really started seeing big differences yet. When I've lost weight in the past it was like I woke up one morning and was like "holy crap I got smaller." I think that was probably around the 15 to 20 pounds down mark.…

I have around 100 to lose myself. I'm 10ish pounds down so far with the help of MFP! Feel free to send me a request.

You look AMAZING! Congratulations!

Do you have the sleep setting on normal or sensitive? I had mine set to sensitive and figured out that it was picking up my husband's movements as well as my own. He's a very light sleeper and is up and down throughout the night, so even though I was in bed for 8 hours it only had me sleeping 4-5 hours. Once I switched it…

That doesn't even sound possible, lol

I am currently nursing injured ligaments in my ankle. I have an appointment with an ortho specialist next week to determine just how bad it is. I can still walk, but only on perfectly flat surfaces, which is pretty much nowhere. I need to steal my son's bike for a few minutes just to see if cycling is an option for me.

I love my Fitbit Flex as well. It's a great motivator throughout the day and the fact that it syncs with MFP is a total bonus!

Way to go!!! Congratulation!!!!

Today I walked the farthest and longest I have since starting to exercise again and posted my fastest mile so far.

True. Again...moonshine country, lol TPBM has never been unfaithful in a relationship.

I am very interested in participating!!!

False. You can't grow up in moonshine country and never have any! TPBM is a dog lover!

I love smoothies! Mine usually consist of 1/2 a banana, a handful of baby spinach or kale, some other type of fruit (pineapple or mango is really good), 1/2 cup greek yogurt, vanilla almond milk, and a little bit of peanut butter for protein. I also like to cut my banana into slices ahead of time and put them in the…

I also think it's important (at least for me) not to put a timeframe on reaching the smaller goals. Setting yourself up for success is extremely important and making sure your goals are realistic and attainable is the key.
-
Small goals are definitely best. Personally, I've been setting goals on increments of 10. My first goal was to get out of the 230s; now it's to get out of the 220s and I'll keep going that way until I get down to a healthy BMI then I'll decide at that point what my ultimate goal is.

So here's the verdict. I've been referred to an ortho specialist. There were no apparent fractures, but the radiologist didn't like the way my bones were coming together at the joint. The doctor said it was very odd for me to still be having this much pain over 6 weeks after the injury as most typical sprains would have…
-
I knew I was being silly about not going to the doctor. I'm at a dentist appointment with my son as we speak and Urgent Care is across the street. Next stop is X-rays. Praying it's nothing serious.

Great Danes are my absolute favorite breed and I will have another hopefully sooner than later. I love large breeds in general and love snuggling with our pit girl, Lola. We also have a Chihuahua named Taco. I never thought I'd own a Chihuahua, but I wouldn't trade him for anything. He's my baby :)

The Fitbit is really only going to track walking or running. Anything else you do (yoga, weights, etc.) you will still need to track manually.
-
Be sure to include a horrible, foul string of expletives in your imagining of my mishap...it makes it much more true to life, lol. Every time Ice, Ice Baby comes up on my iPod I have to curse Vanilla Ice out loud.

Hello and welcome! I love wine and sarcasm is my mother tongue, so we're going to get a long great!
