Any sports/outdoor store should have something. I have a couple of Brooks tops that are super fluorescent (blindingly so in daylight!) and have reflective bits. I got them at REI. I know new balance also makes tights that are entirely reflective, which must look super weird to anyone driving past you at night!

I think it tastes better. Plus its higher in calcium, which I always seem to be lacking.

Hey everybody! I'm Elin. I just moved to the area about 2 months ago from Idaho. Love it here so far! Really didn't expect to so thats been nice. I've always been big and could never really figure out why because I've always been extremely active. I hadn't ever really made any effort to diet or lose weight but after…

I'm doing the Gobbler Grind half next weekend (after having the flu all this week, ick!!) and I'd like to do Topeka to Auburn as well as the 10 miler in Wyandotte Park. Bit intimidated by the latter though, I've never gone that far on trails.
-
You'll do great! Don't be intimidated! Lots of people walk 5ks, even if you walked the whole thing you wouldn't look out of place. Just go and have fun. Races are terrific motivators.

f'shizzle.

If it were me I'd wait it out and see what I really needed and adjust accordingly. Depending on where you are exactly I'm betting you have pretty mild winters. I lived in Tacoma for 4 years and never needed more than a fleece in the winter.

Oh yeah, my first week at a new job dude comes in all flirty and says he's going to bring me chocolate. I say "haha, how nice of you... but please don't, trying to lose weight" he turns it into this super creepy thing where he swears he's going to bring me chocolate everyday and leave it on my desk until I eat some. wtf!?!…

Sure, you will lose weight with a deficit regardless of what you're eating. BUT you have to remember that since you're eating less than normal you have that many fewer opportunities to get your body everything it needs. It becomes even more important to eat healthier because you have less cals to play around with. If you…

Probiotics might help. Most yogurt will do- just look on the label to see if it has active cultures. Otherwise you can get acidophilus and bifidus pills in most grocery stores. Probably near the vitamins.

Gu chomps or clif shot blocks. I've tried and tried to like the gels but they are just so. gawd. aweful! The chewies are a bit harder to deal with but its worth it to not feel like I'm going to vomit trying to choke down a gel. ETA: banana and toast or bagel few hours before. And I've only done halfs. I bring fuel for…

You're beautiful!!! I wish I had your figure. Great work!
-
Still working on it but this is my progress so far. I'm a little more than halfway there. 5'7, 225 lbs in the first pic, 195 to 175 in the bra pics. I've lost a little more since.

Get in the habit of carrying mace and/or borrow a friends dog to run with. Other than that, its very unlikely people in passing cars are critiquing your speed. Most people are probably not paying attention to you at all.

A fair point sir. touche. still can't have my catfish.
-
Wait a minute, you live in TX! You guys have plenty of catfish. Get yer own!

I know, I know, just being lazy. Plus I prefer recipes a human being can actually vouch for.
-
Only if you tell me how to cook the rest of it.
-
You get used to it! Most runs under 3 miles feel like that for me, then I settle in and my body starts cooperating. I don't have much specific advice other than- keep going, it will definitely get easier. Also I always bring a water bottle even if I'm going 3 miles, that'll help with the saliva issues.

You can change your diary settings to track protein, it'll tell you how close you've been getting.

10 lbs for most of the controlled things, 15lbs for military press, 5 lbs for the jumping jacks and anything else where I'm flinging weights around.

Ooo! ooo! me! me! I have a half on Nov. 20th. I've been waffling about signing up for another one but I finally just registered.

^Thats what I was going to say. wall sits are KILLER!

Agreed X 10,000,000,001

That is terrific!!! And incredible willpower sticking to 1400 calories!
-
If they are really, really heavy maybe they can burn a significant number of cals just standing or cleaning. Other than that you should recommend they change their activity level in their settings rather than log every little thing. Its easy to be overzealous about logging stuff when you first start out but it really…

I was in the same position, holding steady at 172-175 for 2 months. Maddening! I understand your desperation but pills are not the way to go. What finally worked for me was my dad visited and my routines got all wonky for a week. I didn't exercise as much (had been working out at least an hour a day 5-6 days a week pretty…

LOVE this!!! Totally enough if it leaves you feeling like you pushed yourself! When it starts to become easier push a little more and go a little further. If you have one run a week where you really challenge yourself you will progress. Its ok to take it easier the rest of the week and do shorter runs. Maybe google hal…

Sure! But it also could be a microbial thing. Try a probiotic, can't hurt. You can get bifidus and acidophilus pills at any natural food store. Yogurt is also usually a good source but if you're vegan maybe the yogurt alternatives might have probiotics? You'll have to check. ETA: some degree of bloating after eating carbs…

nuts! I could kill 1400 cals in cashews in about 2.4 seconds. Damn delicious cashews...
