  • Yahyamommy - That's how it was with me. My weight gain didn't change a whole lot in the 3rd trimester even though Abbie was growing adequately so it was obviously her gaining. Everyone is different though. Just continue eating healthy and staying active, if possible and it should help with the gain. :)
  • Birth story posted. :) I'll check back in with you ladies later when things settle down around this crazy house! lol Miss you all!
  • Great story Jessica!!! Our stories have some similarities with the pitocin and not dilating. lol With that being said, here's my birth story.... Saturday, March 3rd, Eric and I had a VERY uneventful day. He worked in the garage all day and I laid on the couch all day doing absolutely nothing. We were even too lazy to make…
  • So my water broke unexpectedly at midnight last night. I'm at the hospital right now. They're checking my bp every 30min so it's been hard to try and rest, but I've been able to a little. When I got here I was only 50% effaced and about a fingertip dilated, but haven't been checked since. Contractions feel like bad period…
  • DENISE!! OMG!!!! You may have a baby TODAY!! Whoa! Scary about the blood pressure, but I'm glad you're at the dr and they are taking care of you. You will do just fine. I think you're ready....you're only a few days away from your scheduled c-section anyways. lol We'll be thinking about you and praying for you and baby…
  • Denise - "Prepping" your tatas in the shower? What does he mean by that?
  • Thanks for the info Ashley & Denise! I've been stressing about what to take. We are about 30 minutes from the hospital so I don't really want to make Eric go home and get stuff for me. lol I'm thinking I'll just take one pair of lounge pants and 1-2 tanks/bras. I don't want to overdo it. I also plan on taking a couple pair…
  • I make a polenta lasagna that's really good. I got the recipe from Oxygen Magazine. It has polenta, firm tofu, low fat ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, roasted red peppers, marinara sauce, and a little parmesan cheese. I don't have the recipe here with me at work, but I'm sure you could Google it and find it. It's…
  • Ashley - So good to hear from you and that you and Daphne are doing well. :) Can't believe she's already 3 weeks! I bought some big granny panties at Wal-Mart, 3 pack for $2, but am thinking I want something a little less granny'ish. lol I just didn't know how big the pads would be. Speaking of the pads, how long will we…
  • Jessica -The nursery looks great!! Your husband did a good job on the argyle thing. :) The pictures of your dogs are adorable too! Love it all!
  • Good morning ladies!!! :) So we had another doctor's appoitnment yesterday and it went well. I told her some symptoms I've been having (more frequent BHC & some dull menstrual cramps) so she decided to check my cervix...still closed, but she said her head is right there & very low. She said I'll have my strep b test and…
  • The only way I know how to post pictures is to use a hosting site like photobucket. It'll have the URL for you to copy and paste. I haven't done it on here yet though. Can't wait to see the pictures! :)
  • The ultrasound tech always tells me the baby's weight is +/- 12oz because the ultrasounds are less accurate at determining the weight the further along you get. That's why it's important to get the EDD at the early ultrasounds. So don't be too worried about a big baby. It could be off by almost a pound. haha!
  • You ladies are scaring me with the explosive feet talk!! I haven't experienced it yet, but I'm just now 34 weeks so there's still time. :ohwell: My shoes do feel a bit more snug on some days, but not too bad yet. I had the WORST sciatic nerve pain yesterday. I was standing at the door letting the dogs out to potty and BAM…
  • Denise - We have Insanity and P90X at home so I'm planning on using them both after baby arrives. I do love going to the gym though, but I realize that is probably going to be hard for a while so I'll probably be sticking with the workouts at home. :) So glad he is interested in doing P90X too! That'll make motivation…
  • Good morning ladies!!! :) Jessica - I'm getting anxious and I'm only 34 weeks! haha Brenda - Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Taldie - Welcome to the the 3rd! :) I keep checking for Rayna's birth story. I'm so excited to hear how it went. My hubs hasn't been feeling well the past few days. He started out with a…
  • Denise! That's so exciting!! So you have less than a month left! :) Good job on the ketones. Glad you're doing well! Oh and I totally hear you on not being able to bend over without being uncomfortable. Haha! I haven't tried painting my toes, but I'm sure it'd be difficult because tying my gym shoes is sometimes pretty…
  • Good morning ladies! Just read that Dallas was born!! Elce's birth story is in Birth Stories & Announcements and it's great! :) Man oh man, is my tailbone pain bad this morning!! Mainly the left side. It's awful! I'm sitting at work with a heating pad on it. lol We did quite a bit of walking this weekend, Saturday at the…
  • Oh and when I say 16 glasses of water the past two days, I mean EACH day, so 128oz each day for the past two days. I just can't drink enough! Then I wake up and drink throughout the night too. Sheesh! Denise! March 5th!! That is so exciting! So you have a date!!! Wow, that is just unreal to KNOW when he'll be here,…
  • Of course we don't mind! We missed you!! :) Glad to have you back!! Okay, so the ultrasound went okay yesterday. Little miss stubborn was moving around the whole time so the tech had a hard time getting a good 3D image, but she tried at least. She printed out a few pictures, but they're kind of blurry. She had her mouth…
  • Yay Rayna!! Can't wait to hear the good news!!!
  • Ashley - I LOVE the pictures of you, Eric, and Daphne! She is so beautiful and you guys look great as well. Such a happy family. :) Rayna - I hope you start having some relief from the pain soon. The left side of my tailbone has been hurting a lot the past week and walking is very uncomfortable so I kind of know what you…
  • Haha!!! Glad he knows to make you happy Denise! :) Smart man!
  • Good morning everyone! What a busy weekend! My brother and SIL got here on Thursday afternoon and left yesterday morning. While they were here we were here we went to DC to show them around. We walked a good 4-4.5 miles. My lower back/tailbone was KILLING ME by the end of the day!! I could barely walk to the bathroom in…
  • I just realized...Daphe was one of the very few born on her due date! Cool!! :)
  • So excited to hear more about Daphne! :) I had a doctor's appointment yesterday with the one that I really like at the practice. There are 3 OB's and one of them I'm just so-so with, one of them I like, and one of them I REALLY like. The one I really like is the main one at the practice. She's just awesome. Anyways, she is…
  • Woohoo Ashley!!! Hopefully she'll make her debut soon! :) So excited to hear the news!
  • Good morning ladies! :) Have any of you started to feel any nausea this trimester? The past week I've had random moments of slight nausea in the evenings. I think it's usually when I'm just overly tired, but I woke up a few times last night feeling queasy and still do this morning. It COULD be the donuts I ate yesterday…
  • So I guess $4/hour is a pretty average price then. It'll help that I only need it for 20 hours or less per week. I think with the military daycare it's cheaper for full-time, but I'm not sure how much since I don't need that, but $4/hour seems fair. It's crazy how expensive it is when you work full-time. Sheesh!!
  • Just talked to HR again and I DO qualify for paid maternity leave. Six weeks if I have vaginal delivery and 8 weeks if I have a cesarean. Two weeks is covered by sick leave and the remaining 4-6 weeks is covered by short term disability. SUH-WEET!! That takes some stress off my shoulders. Now I just have to deal with the…
