  • This exactly. Music is great for keeping me going once i start working out. Make a good playlist and go for it. Ive had some pretty good jam sessions just putting on my music and dancing like no ones watching! Sweating at the end and having fun! Also, if you prefer not to do elliptical for long periods, break it up ..it…
  • Feel free to add me: Im pretty active
  • I did NOT meet my goals yesterday, BUT i have identified an issue for me ....which means i can work on it. My husband has insomnia VERY often, and while i initially go to bed early, i end up late with him - this time eating Pizza at 1130pm. Smh. I'm going to make a point to NOT eat this late or have HEALTHY options and…
  • I used Friday as a PASS I was feeling sick during the day and over ate to calm some nausea. I did work out though: 10 minute lower body cardio + 15 min walk + leg day routine Logged everything, but went over calorie goal.
  • @bocasdelbob wow! that IS a great hobby. and i can only imagine the strength and endurance required to do that sort of activity! here I am working my buns off to get back on track on the elliptical. lol. Kudos! I have recently started strength training (10/28/2016) and it has been fun so far. I'm down 4 lbs this first week…

  • So sorry to hear it. Sometimes these stresses happen at the worst times. I'm a terrible stress eater, so i definitely know this struggle! Stay positive and look forward to new better things to come! Back on track tomorrow!

  • Hello I'm new to this challenge and excited to have some accountability. I've been up and down the last few years, ranging from 240 - 307 lbs after some health issues caused me to gain weight; rapidly & unexpectedly. I was just married in August and the stress of it caused me to gain MORE. I'm now just a few pounds shy of…
  • I'm in: Starting weight: 305 GW (End of Nov) : 295
  • feel free to add me. i'm pretty active and could always use a little more accountability from motivated people.
  • I love my Fitbit. ..I've inspired my mother in law, her boyfriend and now my bf to get one. Mine was a gift but I'd buy it myself in a heartbeat. I've broken one & lost another & the customer service was AWESOME about replacing. ..for free! It makes you constantly more aware of your activity level. If you're competitive,…
  • WHEN I go over (and it is definitely 'when', not 'if) the best thing I can do for myself is to not beat myself up about it. It happens. It's life. There's going to be days where you want Burger King, or an extra cookie, or a milkshake:love: .. or whatever. In the LONG run though, being consistent will still…
  • Granola Nuts Dried fruit (no added sugar) (or maybe some trail mix; make your own if you have nuts & dried fruits) Pop Corners (pop corn chips) Popcorn (100-calorie bags) Try some broccoli & cucumbers with those carrots Chips & salsa (I like the 'Food Should Taste Good' multigrain tortillas with flax, brown rice & some…
  • Not that enough people HAVEN'T weighed in but.. i understand where you're coming from. One of the earlier comments recommending a cleaning time set aside for both of you. That what the BF and I do. We each take care of our 'own messes' daily and then Wednesday & Sunday we have a few hours of 'clean up time'. Not sure if…

  • You are awesome. Thank you so much for sharing your story. You look great! I love all of the additional things that you've gained while getting healthier physically. congrats to you and good luck on your continued growth! You rock.
  • I was going to recommend YouTube but I see that you have limited internet use. The best advice I can give would probably be just to get up and get out... moving. I agree that jumping rope is a GREAT form of cardio and very low cost. You can get a decent jump rope for about $5 locally. Go for a walk or jog (maybe you can…
  • Congrats! And it looks awesome on you!
  • I'm down about 3 dress sizes in 5.5 months. I was wearing a size 24 when I started. I've lost 42 lbs total and am JUST getting into a size 18. Of course everyone loses at different rates. ALSO, while it might take one person about 15lbs to lose a dress size (like me), some people might drop a size with 10 lbs, or 20 lbs,…
  • Congrats on an awesome weight loss. :flowerforyou: You look great!
  • This I try not to have TOO many friends b/c I can't genuinely motivate/support them. My rule is, if I see someone has been inactive for like 3-5 days, I send them a 'checking in' message to see how they're doing. I agree with the OP that people want/need accountability from time to time, and I feel like they might just…
  • Sooooo. I went with...... Neither. lol For cost-saving reasons, I actually ended up getting the Ninja Master Prep! I love that freaking thing. I paid $40 for it from Amazon and it is the bomb. I'm pretty sure it's cheaper than the others. The reviews were great, so I figured I would give it a try. It uses the 'pulse'…
  • Oh wow. This was a.m.a.z.i.n.g  I am so grateful that you shared your story with us. You and your hubby are awesome! Congrats on all of your success! Your hard work has really paid off; you look FANTASTIC and definitely deserve an official cape. Superhero of the day!
  • I agree. From what i've seen, MFP has a tendency to overestimate. I used a HRM once or twice and it estimated I'd burn around 200 for a decent exercise of 30 minutes on elliptical. That same work out, MFP told me about the same as they told you. lol.. Around 500. I prefer to use the HRM on the machine and take an estimate…
  • I agree with the previous posts that I prefer the elliptical b/c it is low impact. I've also found that, for me, I get a better work out on the elliptical b/c I can push myself harder (I think BECAUSE it is low impact) If I use the treadmill, I would have to literally jog/run to burn the amount of calories I burn on…
  • These are all my 'work out' play list: Blacked Eyed Peas (scroll through and find some of their tracks; they've got a FEW) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis "Can't Hold us" Icona Pop "I Love It" Britney Spears "Work B*tch" Pitbull "Don't stop the party' Pitbull/Kesha "Timber" Nicki Minaj "Moment 4 Life" Now, half of these artists I…
