First, are you sure you are under? Sometimes, we think that we are eating at a deficit but because our BMR has changed. Or we are not getting accurate numbers of calories. I've had a few days of frozen scale .. so I'm experiencing sort of the same. So, today, I will weigh my food to make sure I really know what my calorie…

Hi there, I normally don't post because I'm not a doctor, just a well-versed dieter!:) But, I just want to tell you to hang in there. It isn't easy to loose weight. A couple of suggestions: Try to stay in a daily calorie deficit (500 calories less than your BMR http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ ) It is easier…

I use mine every morning ... better than juicing because you keep the fiber, or so I am told. My favorite recipe is: Protein powder, vanilla (there is a great brand ... can't think of the name right now that has most daily vitamins, 15 g of protein and stevia instead of sugar. Frozen strawberries Frozen spinach or broccoli…

Good one! I still use butter too, albeit in small amounts. It doesn't trigger cravings. I use Stevia if I add any sweetness ... I've used blueberries in chili to add a bit of sweet to chili. thanks for posting

You can do it!!! I have found that it is a lifelong process, but made so much more realistic with the surgery. You just have to follow a few more steps, but you can do it.

Hang in there. There are some things you can do .. 1. See your surgeon, or another very good bariactric specialist 2. Go to the website 5daypouch test ... works wonders 3. Consider taking a 30-day appetite suppressant to get you back to recommended calorie intake 4. High protein, low carb eating, just like after surgery 5.…

Hello Carly and Kate! Welcome. Anyone else want to say hello! I know you can both get to goal! Staying connected is really important as one variable to this battle. Here are a few more questions: 1. Either of you seen a doctor? Now that obesity is classified as a disease, there seem to me more options for help, I've…

I found another website that said not to immediately add lots of exercise because it could trigger a hunger craving, as your body seeks replacement calories. Some of us can't resist, as we should so that our body will start burning stored fats, and we eat it instead. I think that advice can be misunderstood very easily.…

I've been spending a lot of time lately trying to understand all the variables of my obesity in order to stay in the place of "remission" ... Emotional eating I think is really important to understand, because for me it is connected. Thanks for keeping us all posted!

It is still acceptable to denigrate the obese, just like it was once OK to bash various races, creeds and sexual orientation. The perceptions will change one day, because if we keep going on the course we are on, the vast majority of our population will be obese. For what ever reason, the decision of the AMA has helped me…

Hey all, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your own personal journey with health, fitness and weight loss. I hope that each story helps another person because especially in the US, a third of our country are clinically obesity. And I like many, have struggled with more than 100 pounds over healthy weight. I am sure…

I wish you all good health and joy in your journey. If what I wrote helped someone, then it makes me happy. Respectfully

Keep looking. Don't give up. I can't tell you how many doctors I went through until I finally found one who knew and understood. Have you looked at www.obesityhelp.com There are a lot of reviews about doctors there. Also, have you looked into appetite suppressant? I have found that it really helps cut cravings and allows…

Hello Vickwalk, I had the surgery 14 yrs ago and I am very happy that I did. But the decision to have it is an individual one. My sister, who is obese, has decided not to have it. A couple of points to consider in making your decision: 1. Surgery is a tool to battle obesity, but not a cure. If you have it, you will have to…

I read in this booklet that all weight loss, whether 1 pound a week or 2, will typically plateau at about 6 months into the weight loss. For those who have a BMI of 30+, that means that after about 50 pounds of weight loss you can expect to stop loosing for a while. However, that plateau is not permanent and continuing the…

Welcome Erin, It sounds like you have had a struggle. I know the feeling. I hope that the things we learn about the disease of obesity can help all of us move into remission and better health. Sounds like you have a great plan. If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to meet with a doctor who understands obesity.…

As you know, I agree completely. This thought alone has changed my thinking and helped me begin weight loss for the first time in years. When i had gastric bypass nearly 14 years ago, I really believed that I had cured my obesity. I believe I was wrong. Weight is just a symptom of obesity for me now. I'm not sure if I was…
