No I do not use the app. I do use a food scale and am logging correctly, just struggling with the numbers right now. I know I have been at times consuming too much food, and even know where the problem is. Just needing a break. I will check out that link, thanks :)

Mostly plain water for me. It has got to be COLD tho. I usually put a half bottle in the freezer and then add water to it to drink later. I do have an occasional diet coke, but I'm talking maybe once a month or so. Love me my coffee tho....

Something to ponder, thanks levitateme.

Thank you, I know this isn't a quick fix, it is for the long haul. That is why I do not want to get burned out on it. I am hoping by taking a break, that when I get back to it, it won't feel so "ugh" .

Glad you enjoy the food diary, it isn't for everyone though. As for my accurately logging, I am, never said I was staying under my calories. I know when I go over, because I have been logging everything. Just said I have been struggling.

Wow long journey is right. Congrats on your weight loss. I hope to get there as well. Maybe this break will allow me to break this funk, and then get back on it.

I know I am not in a deficit daily, when I screw up and eat too much I log that as well. Many a days in the red, not always by a lot, but still seeing red.... in more ways than one lol I did give the maintenance thing a thought, but I would still be looking at numbers, and that is what I want to get away from for a bit.

WIsh it were my last ten pounds lol I wouldn't be so frustrated. I too hope I can eat normally when all is said and done. Good luck to you as well.

Checked out your profile, job well done. Time will tell for me... I would rather try this than give up completely :)

Extra sugarfree gum has 5 calories per stick....

Seriously? You think it is safe to make a post like this here? Please don't do this....

Love peanut butter... Can put it on most anything lol I usually have a chocolate rice cake with 1.5 TBS of peanut butter as my treat. Its about 200 calories. Could eat A LOT more of it would fit in my calorie goal...

I agree... I started at 333 and ate about 2600 I think, and I did lose... I have found if you follow what MFP tells you, it works. You just have to be accurate in your measuring and tracking of both food and exercise. I generally eat back about 50 to 75 percent of exercise calories....

Yep, I feel this way from time to time too. For me, I know I will have to do this for a good long time. Perhaps over time I will be able to eyeball things and be ok, but I have been overweight my entire adult life. It will take lots of time to make the correct adjustments in my life. I am fortunate enough to have friends…

Paying $250 a year to stay the same weight overall? You do not really need any of us to answer this question for you. If you follow what MFP says, you will lose weight, and it is free. Good luck on your journey.

If it is just about losing the weight for you, then yes, as long as you are at a deficit, you will lose, regardless of what you eat. Everything in moderation. I had a hard time cutting out the sweets too, but once I started logging everything, and realized how many calories are int he things I loved, I chose to stay away…

For me, water is water, all else is exactly what it says it is... (soda, coffee, tea...)

I like this ^^^ OP, it is difficult to find time to workout, but you have to decide to make it a priority. Some of the things you wrote were excuses. I'm not judging, we have all been there. We just have to decide when enough is enough, and make time for what is important. I hope you found some ideas here from the people…

If what you are doing is working, why would you want to change things?

Thanks everyone, will try something different next time... salt maybe....

It has worked wonders for me. First off, I understand the swimming alone has not made me lose the weight, the calorie deficit has. I have been swimming for an hour a day 5 to 6 days a week since January. I just do laps, breast stroke one way, back stroke the other. It has been great for my joints. It burns many more…

I've had bison, didn't think much of it, dry and tasteless IMO. I do enjoy venison (deer meat) but only fried on the stove top. I do not care for it ground or canned or any other way for that matter. If I am going to have a burger, I just buy the 93% ground beef at 170 calories per 4 oz. I log the calories and enjoy my…

Even too much "healthy food" can lead to gaining weight. I am not trying to be negative, just stating a fact. Congrats on your loss thus far, I wish you the best.

Agreed ^^

Love water, but it has got to be COLD. I keep half full water bottles in the freezer and fill the rest with water as needed so it is always cold. I don't drink much else anymore.... coffee of course and on rare occasion a diet coke. It is just an adjustment you either make or don't. When I looked at the calories in juices…

Exactly... I do not know why MFP asks about activity level and does not include it, but it doesn't... Good luck to ya!
-
So eat... as long as you have the calories left for the day. It does not matter what time of day you eat. Weight loss is about calorie deficit, if you are in one, you will lose...
-
Usually a pound a week or so, but the last month or so have been up and down... Just have to keep at it :)
-
tdee includes your expected daily exercise, that's why higher calories are allowed. mfp does not, you add your exercise in and MFP adjusts calories for you.

It can be done. You have gotten a ton of great advice here. It takes a little more effort to eat healthy, but it is no more expensive than eating not so healthy food. Good luck to you :)
