  • I am joining this challenge! SW: 253 CW: 213.8 GW: ??? My short term goal is to be under 200 by the time I "run" my first 5K on September 16. My next goal is to be 185 (or overweight, not obese) by the New Year!
  • Starting weight: 213.8 Goal weight: 203 Tuesday 1st: Tuesday 8th: Tuesday 15th: Tuesday 22nd: Tuesday 29th: What can you improve on: Regular exercise (goal is to walk every other day at the very least), track calories honestly, finish week 5 of C25K
  • I like coffee but always need tons of cream and sugar. If I don't want the calories, I often reach for one of those crystal light pouches with caffeine. 10 calories per pouch. Black tea with a couple teaspoons of sugar or honey is also good for a boost.
  • I drink Blue Diamond Original Almond Milk for the most part. Nothing against dairy milk, I just don't like the weird film I get in my mouth and throat after I have it, and since there's an easy and cheap alternative (and one that I honestly don't taste a difference), I just go for that.
  • I'm with you! Sugary desserts are my trigger foods. I just eat and eat and eat with no control over anything, so I'm going to just cut them out completely in 2016. If I'm craving something sweet, I'll have a piece of fruit. I also want to focus on my sugar intake in general and try to make sure I stay within the amount MFP…
  • Usually after dinner. It's not intentional, I'm just usually not hungry between the time I finish eating dinner and the time I go to bed.
  • Banana "ice cream" - two frozen bananas, 1 cup soy milk (or whatever milk you like), 1 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder, 1 tbsp honey. Blend until it's an ice cream consistency!
  • It will slow down your progress a bit, but if you're eating at a deficit the rest of the week, then you should still lose. I give myself one cheat day a week where I can eat up to maintenance. It helps me keep my sanity sometimes, and if I'm feeling good, I don't always use my cheat day. But if I want to go out and have a…
  • I struggle. I think it's easier to do if you're maintaining, but when you're eating in a deficit, it's a little harder. I usually get between 40-50 grams a day, which I suppose is ok because I think a healthy weight woman needs about that much. I do eat beans a lot, and some fake meats (tofurkey sandwiches for days om nom…
  • I'm in! My goal is to walk 50 miles total this month. Not sure if it'll happen, but it seems like a good number. Hit 2.69 miles today! Hope no one minds if I keep track in this thread? 10/1 - 2.69 miles Goal: 50 miles Total: 2.69 miles Remaining: 47.31 miles
  • I would also like to join! I've only been biking for about a month, so I'm setting my goal to 75 miles. I have a daily commute of 1.5 miles roundtrip that I'll be including into this figure. 10/1 - Goal: 75 miles Total: 0 miles Remaining: 75 miles
  • I walk/bike outside or do youtube videos because I'm poor :'(
  • I bought a bike when I realized the farthest place I regularly go is less than 3 miles away. My broke down about a month ago - haven't bothered to get it looked at since I never use it anyways. At this rate, I'm considering just selling it.
  • In terms of you'll probably be getting more vegetables and therefore likely more nutrients, it could be more healthy. However, you'll have to be much more aware of what's in your diet and make sure you're eating a healthy, varied diet so you get everything you need. I eat maybe 80% plant-based. Since doing so, I'm much…
  • I like Almond Breeze. Vanilla for straight up drinking, plained/unsweetened for adding to things :)
  • I eat maybe 80% vegan, and I do eat some cheese and fish. But I also call myself a pescatarian, not a vegan, even though vegan is how I eat most of the time. However, I'm one of the rare people who think it's ok to cheat once in awhile. The reason I'm a pescatarian and not a vegan is because those occasional meals with…
  • I take B12 every day because I don't eat many animal products. I take iron a couple times a week. I should take vitamin D as well, but I spend a lot of time outside so I'm not sure it's really necessary lol.
  • I use a Nutribullet (a slightly more expensive version of the Magic Bullet but hey at least it doesn't sound like I bought myself a vibrator!). I like it. You drink right out of the cup thing you mix everything in, which is great for smoothies. Less clean up. It's also smaller that a normal blender, only a few cups or so,…
  • I eat maybe 75% of mine back normally. I'm set to lose 2 lbs a week, and if I workout but don't eat them back, then my deficit is set to 3 or 4 pounds a week. Also, if I'm working out a lot, I tend to be hungrier. Eating the calories back in healthy foods prevents me from going crazy on sweets and whatnot later on.
  • I doesn't make you lose weight. I find it can be an appetite suppressant between meals (warm liquid in the belly, has no calories), but beyond that, nah man. It's not a magical weight loss supplement or anything. Just keep counting your calories :)
  • I'm transitioning, so feel free to add me! I'd say I eat a good 80-90% vegan most days. As for the Youtubers, I assume they work out a ton. I know Freelee and Durian bike, and few of the other high carb low fat ones run or do other high intensity cardio. If you ate like that and did little to no activity though, you'd gain…
  • Yesterday I was biking home, and the wind was on my back. Oh man, I flew and it was awesome! Not even hills were a challenge!
  • Oh, I'm not saying it's not a gift. I bought the bike in July because I realized just how close I lived to my work, and how silly it was to drive. Now that my car is a smoking heap of metal, I'm really glad I have the bike, and I'm EXTREMELY thankful for the close proximity to the library. And it's actually about a 7.5…
  • This is what I'm going to do. Biking to and from work today was about 15 minutes of biking, which was just a little over 100 calories burned. Going up an activity level gets me an extra 400 calories. I think logging it in as exercise is the way to go. Thank you!
  • It clearly states on my profile I have 100 pounds to lose still. Did you really think I was walking somewhere I could have driven?
  • I love popcorn. I will sometimes make a HUGE bowl of oil popped popcorn, add my butter and salt, and call it a meal. I really freaking love popcorn.
  • Your diary isn't open, so I can't see what you're eating. But for reals, if you're not getting enough fiber, you're not eating enough plants. That's the only source of fiber. Eat your veggies. A medium sized apple all by itself has 4 grams of fiber. Beans and nuts are amazing, but they're also going to be more calorie…
  • Just about anything put out by The Minimalist Baker. Super yummy, easy foods, and most of it is very healthy. Having biscuits and gravy today for breakfast, a double serving, for only 500 calories. I'm also a big fan of chickpea salad (like mock chicken or tuna salads). Plop that on some bread with some lettuce, onion, and…
  • Acne is quite often a hormonal imbalance, so it may be worth speaking to a doctor about. It could also be a food allergy, though. A lot of people don't know they're lactose intolerant to some level, so I'd try cutting back on dairy and seeing if that helps. This seems to be the big one I've heard of. For stress...I don't…
  • It isn't anywhere as bad as people seem to think it is. People complain about the estrogen in soy but then eat dairy, which is full of estrogen because it's quite literally breast milk. Soy is a staple in many Asian cultures, which have much lower instances of many diseases (like breast cancer) than Western culture, which…
