  • You sure have spent a lot of time discussing this "program", between posting about it here and talking to personal trainers (seriously?) about it. That's quite the investment in all of these poor souls that you feel are being given a disservice by PF.
  • I find it amusing that you don't belong to PF or ever been in one, which I haven't seen you say you have, yet you know exactly who belongs there. They really grind your gears, don't they? Most of these threads are based on "I heard they force feed you pizza every day to keep you fat" or "you are discouraged from working…
  • Man, PF sure can tick some people off. At least they get lots of attention in these forums. They're doing something right! LOL
  • It's Planet Fitness. That's reason enough for some to complain about pretty much anything they do. Even though it's now been pointed out to the OP that what they posted in their original post wasn't a full workout plan, but instead, suggested as an addition to an existing plan. But, it's Planet Fitness!
  • I didn't give it up the first time I lost 40 lbs here on MFP. I did give it up on January 1st of this year. I will say that working out is so much easier when you actually are eating your calories rather than drinking them, at least for me. I figured that I was actually only eating about 900 calories a day when I was…
  • Some activity is better than none.
  • That means if you run 3 miles, you are only burning 30 calories.
  • No, in 25 years he's never made me feel bad about my body. My ex husband did, which is one of the many reasons he's my ex husband.

  • I find that it overestimates my burn by a couple of hundred calories.
  • I'm 5'5" and this is about my pace, too. I say that I'm slower than a turtle. LOL
  • I don't drink water when I run. I drink some before and then after. I don't even notice being thirsty while running. I do 3 miles twice during the week and 3-5 miles on Saturday and Sunday. I guess I'm not running long enough to make myself thirsty. Even when I am done running, I make sure my dog has water first. I figure…
  • I don't know about MMW, but MapMyRun seriously overestimates my calorie burn. MFP way overestimates it, too. I use a HRM, which comes in with a much lower burn than either one.
  • Does it really matter? I think it's because in MFP's database, a leisurely walk is listed as walking the dog. If you walk faster, it will probably log it as something else, like a brisk walk.
  • Used to be a cat person, but I am definitely a dog person now. I have three cats who range in age from 13 to 19. When they pass on, I won't have any more cats. We have 4 dogs right now and we board and train dogs, so there are times we have upwards of 10 dogs at our house.
  • Just happily celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary.
  • I can tell you that my heart rate is higher when I am running in the heat. It normally runs in the lower 150s, but this morning, I was struggling to keep it below 175.
  • I have no idea, but it happens to me when I run. The first mile is hell, but then I get into it and it's not so bad. Then I hit mile 3 and suddenly feel like I could run for another 3 with no problem (though I don't actually run that far, I am at about 3-5 miles when I run).
  • I am not sure what you mean by double logging the exercise. The pedometer is only counting steps. Unless you are counting your steps as exercise? I wear my fitbit 24/7. I basically use it for my steps and my sleep and that's all. I log my exercise when I exercise and I don't remove my fitbit when I do exercise. Steps and…
  • I have 7 right now. 4 dogs and 3 cats. We also train dogs and foster for a rescue, so we usually have at least a couple of extra dogs in the house. Right now, we have 4 visiting dogs, too.
  • Indoor track?
  • Just think of all the ones you're ingesting that you don't see. Like gnats. Every once in a while, I'll run into a sunny spot and see the thousands of gnats swarming right in front of me. I am pretty sure they're swarming in the shade, too and I am just not seeing them. The ones going up your nose are pretty dang gross,…
  • When I started back to running back in the first of March, I had taken a 4 month break. The first run I did was only 2 miles and I felt great while I was doing it, but I could hardly walk the next day! So, I went again 2 days later and then 2 days after that. I didn't end up sore anymore. I run 3 times a week now. The…
  • I have four dogs. Jasmine, Jasper, Danny and Castle.
  • Are you sure it's sciatic pain and not your sacroiliac joint? If you felt a popping and then the pain was gone, it sounds more like a SIJ issue.
  • I do both. I run 3 days a week and walk every night after dinner.
  • When I am running on the greenway with my dog on a leash on my right side and people coming towards me, with their dogs on flexi leads, let their dog cross right in front of me to "say hi" to my dog. I have been tripped countless times by these dummies.
  • My husband is a middle of the night eater, too. It's one of those habits that is really hard to break. Maybe when you wake up you can drinks some water or even some almond milk? Or eat a banana? That's what we keep in the house for him, but sometimes he still gets into the crap instead (I keep crap in the house because I…
