  • Congratulations! Would love to hear more of your story too! I bet you feel great in your new body!
  • Look at you go, girl! 50 days today and here we are! Nice work on this thread - I love positive reinforcement!
  • Wahoo! I have about 15 pounds before I can upgrade to "overweight". There will be serious celebrating for that milestone!
  • I agree with the commenter above about the importance of sleep when you have a baby in the house. I remember those days with a shudder because there were times I went to work on 1 hour of sleep and that is just not good for anyone. If you have had a decent night's sleep when the baby wakes at 5:30a, then by all means grab…

  • Love the pictures - you are doing a great job! It is inspirational. Did you know you had a dimple in your chin before you lost weight? I love it!
  • Congrats on the milestone! Keep up the good work!

  • Good, mindful choices! I hope my day goes something like that too!

  • I noticed a change in my SANITY almost immediately. Yoga class got easier, in terms of being able to follow along and understand what was happening, within a few classes. Within a month I started noticing that certain things were easier and I could hold certain poses longer. After a few months of regular attendance, I felt…
  • Big excitement here is that my whole family joined me for a 27 minute walk last night! I'm doing a walking challenge this month (to walk at least six days per week) and my older daughter said she'd do it with me. Big bonus to add in the husband and the younger daughter too!
  • The baggy pants are a great NSV aren't they? Congratulations and thanks for sharing the photos! Doesn't make me like shopping any more than before though, so I'm still wearing the baggies ... might have to get some suspenders if I don't go shopping soon!
  • ^^ this ^^ She said it exactly right. You can do this. Focus on small goals - one day at a time - and as you succeed, I know you will feel sronger and stronger, which will make dealing with other things (family strife is SO HARD) more do-able! Breathe, think positive, and know that you are doing great things for your body…
  • Hang in there and keep at it - the inches will come. I think plus sized clothes are cut in a way that weightloss maybe isn't real noticeable at first - plus the more we have to lose, the longer it might take for the first noticeable downsize. My upper body has changed a lot faster than my lower body too. Just keep at it…
  • I'm back after a week in the sunshine of Southern California and feel really positive about my eating choices while I was on vacation. I strayed into some unfamiliar "treats" here and there but I was conscious of it and I think it all turned out pretty reasonable. It is wonderful to come back from vacation with no regrets!
  • I love yoga. Specifically, hot vinyasa flow yoga. Followed closely by a HIIT yoga class my studio offers. Living in a small community, I don't have a lot of choices for studios but I was lucky to hit the jackpot my first time out. I cannot make myself do exercise videos at home - I'm hoping someday to change this and be…
  • Here's my update (which includes a little creativity as we were on vacation): Saturday 3/8 - 60 min walking (and hauling suitcases through airports) Sunday 3/9 Monday 3/10 - 20 min exercise videos Tuesday 3/11 - 60 min walking (all over downtown San Diego!) Wednesday 3/12 Thursday 3/13 - 60 min walking (at least - we were…
  • That is awesome! I am hopeful my husband will do the same one of these days. Our family is heading on spring break tomorrow and I plan to initiate some exercise via YouTube clips etc. every day and will invite my girls and husband to join me ... we'll see! My NSV today was realizing that I haven't had a "run away!" dream…
  • You look gorgeous - I agree that photos are really important for those of us losing at a slow and steady rate! Congrats! Share OUR enthusiasm for you, if you aren't feeling it much yourself!
  • I'm in for my second month (came a few hours shy in February). Here's my first week: Saturday 3/1 Sunday 3/2 - 75 minutes hot power yoga Monday 3/3 Tuesday 3/4 - 50 minutes Group Power Wednesday 3/5 Thursday 3/6 - 50 minutes Group Power Friday 3/7 - 60 minutes hot power yoga Starting: 1440 minutes First week: 235 minutes…
  • Need to try this!
  • I tried a version of the garlic mashed cauliflower recipe once - it promised that your family would never know it wasn't potatoes, so I did it to test that theory. My husband about DIED when he took a bite. I don't like the flavor of cauliflower at all, so I thought it was gross but it was worth it to get a mouthful into…
  • Oh my gosh, this is fantastic! Hadn't thought about the bathtub! At nearly 6', bathtubs are always too short, but perhaps if I take up less WIDTH, I may be able to soak once in a while in my future! Thanks for the idea!!!
  • Keep it going! You are motivating yourself and all of us too!
  • Got up and went to Group Power at the YMCA this morning, even though I really wanted to roll over and go back to sleep for another hour. Afterwards, noticed that I can see the line of my quads almost halfway up my thigh - which is a really big first in a long time for me! I love muscles. Here's to another great week…
  • This brought tears to my eyes - thank you for sharing your thoughts Granniefan!
  • What both of these kind folks said is what I think too! I'm very proud of you for stepping up and for owning up too! And for the positive attitude in knowing that one bad food day does not mean failure or the end of the world - back on track tomorrow.
  • Let's finish this off for the month: Thursday 2/20 50 min Group Power Sunday 2/23 75 min hot power yoga Tuesday 2/25 50 min Group Power Thursday 2/27 50 min Group Power Friday 2/28 65 min hot power yoga Started with 1440 hours Completed 1095 hours Remaining 345 hours 90 more minutes per week to meet the challenge...…
  • Wow! Can't wait to try some of these!
  • Holy cow - can't believe I forgot the Tuesday Triumphs yesterday! Well, first I got myself out of bed for Group Power which was great. Then, because I'd had a kind of rough string of days mentally, I decided to step on the scale to show myself that while I felt like crap, I really didn't screw up my numbers except for one…
  • Hang in there! Focus on today (or even the next hour if the day seems to long) and your goal to do well for that period of time. Stop thinking about the x number of pounds you want to lose or the body you want to have and just focus on getting through this day as best you can. Breathe, focus on all the positives, try to…
