Taking it one day at a time is a good plan. Remember that 1 bad day won't make you fat the same as 1 great day won't make you thin. Good luck with your journey.

I have found it is so much easier to tell the secrets and fears to my mfp family than it is to my real life family. There is no delete or block button in real life. Even so it still takes courage to write all these down because it means facing them yourself and that is always the hardest part. I can relate to most of…

I do my main shop at Aldi. The majority of things are great and so cheap. For the things that need to be branded, I go to Tesco. I agree with a comment above about Asda, its cheaper but the fresh food is crap.

I went cold turkey over 3 years ago. I still think about cigarettes every now and again, I don't think it ever fully leaves you. Like you posting this topic has triggered something. I bought sugar free lolly pops. My other half gave up at the same time he used nicoret lozenges. It's about finding what works. Also it's…

A couple of years ago I would have minded but now I don't mind them. I used to be embarrassed and self conscious about being overweight. I looked in the mirror and hated what I saw, no matter what I was wearing. I hated myself. So compliments of any kind as I was losing weight sounded like nails on a blackboard, by telling…

I agree with dubird. You have to be honest with yourself as to why you want to lose weight. Personally doing it for other people won't have the same motivation as doing it for yourself. Write them down, read them on struggle days. Everyone has a bad day, failure is not making a mistake, failure is giving up. I too am…

Personally I don't fight them. I have exactly what I crave but in smaller portions than I used to. The moment I deny myself anything I want it more. Everything in moderation.

This ^^ I estimate and then add a couple of hundred.

This is basically what I was going to say. I only eat yellow bananas, not green.

The great thing about smoothie is that they are so versatile. Get creative, make up your own concoctions. I use 160g of frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries, pineapples, raspberries, banana, cherries, grapes) 300ml liquid (water, apple juice, orange juice, cranberry juice) 50g low fat yogurt. I also add peanut butter,…

It took me 4 attempts to complete day one. It does get easier but only in the time frame your body allows. Take it slow. If it was easy, it wouldn't be a challenge and if its not a challenge, you wont feel a sense of achievement when you complete the next day =)

I am a 5 foot 5, 30 year old female and to lose 1lb a week, MFP has set me at 1603 calories. 1200 - 1400 for a male is very very low.

Sounds awful. I wouldn't even consider it.

Thank you for your kind words. I will take your advice and book an appointment in the morning.

The minions would not think about endorsing this crap. Now bananas and bapples are another story

No. I estimated meals out based on supermarket ready meals and then add 20%. The way I see it is estimating is better than nothing and its only every now and again.

Ma Maybe you need to work on your attitude towards yourself. Try this stand in front of the mirror in your best underwear and say out loud everything you see that you like about yourself. Then every morning when you get up, tell yourself one thing that you are grateful for. Its all about positive attitude.

I was shocked by my my eating habits. I used mfp for two weeks, logging everything but not looking at the numbers so I could analyse what I was doing. My diet was great, my breakfasts, lunches and dinners were all calorie and nutritionally sound... It was the stopping at McDonalds and eating a full meal whilst driving home…

I have been TTC for 12 months now. It gets me down sometimes, especially when I see all my friends announcing pregnancies (isn't that just the way). Trying to lose weight in preparation is the only thing that is keeping me going. Just relax and when the time is right, it will happen.

I used to boredom eat, took me a while to get myself out of it. Now when I am bored and feel like eating I do something - go for a walk or cycle, even if it is just up and down my street (my neighbours think I am mental) or I read a book (at the moment it's wedding magazines, there is nothing like looking at wedding…

I drink it. Only as a treat with my dinner if I fancy it. The majority of my intake comes from water. If you stayed away from things because they are not good for your body then what you actually eat would be limited.

Personally no. I don't do outdoor exercise when its raining because I don't like getting cold and I hate the feeling of wet clothes in my skin. Generally I just feel miserable and feel sorry for myself. For these days I go for a swim or do an exercise video at home.

Each to their own, buts its not a look I aspire to tbh. Not a fan of hers anyway.

My fiance is very supportive (even if he doesn't see why I should lose weight, he respects that I want to), all temptations are kept in his work van and he finds out how many calories I have left and checks the wrappers offering me anything. My co-workers and I run on a system that if I want it I will ask: that goes for…
