Excited and scared about the future
Back in December, my partner and I started discussing starting a family so I joined MFP with a single goal in mind. Lose as much weight as I can before the decision to come off the pill is made. So I have worked reasonably hard (I am not perfect nor will I ever be) but I have pretty much changed my eating habits…

Long period versus short periods of exercise
Is short periods of exercise just as affective as long periods? For example: If I do 3 x 10 minutes on the cross trainer each with a small rest in between instead of 1 x 30 minutes, is it just as beneficial?

Guest lists
How are you all deciding who is on you guest list and who isn't? I have the issue with certain family members who I don't want to invite at all but feel that have to to keep the peace. I don't see them or hear off them from one end of the year to the next except at weddings, funerals, christmas or they want something from…

Honest opinions please!!
In the early part of next year, I am buying my headdress and I am going to book a dress try on so I can see the two together. My mom lives in France and it would be far too expensive to fly over so I was going to ask my mother in law to be if she would like to come with me. One of my reasons I would like to involve her is…

Why is it when you want something, it seems to be happening to everyone else.
Sorry to post this. I don't have anywhere else I can vent. Why is it that when you want something, it seems to be happening to everyone around you? I am nearly 31 and my partner and I have been trying for a baby for 13 months. Ok, I know that's not a long time and in comparison to the length of time others have been trying…

What are you greatful for?
I read in a magazine that studies undertaken at universities in Miami and California have found that practising gratitude can help us feel more optimistic. So, what are you grateful for? I am grateful for..... The support I get from my OH. When I am struggling, I can always count on him to help me get back on track.

Calories in a banana
Can you please advise how many calories you would allocate per 100g of banana? There is so many entries on MFP, I dont know where to start. I dont understand why a banana from one supermarket is more calories than one from another. The calories are ranging from 85-105 calories per 100g. Surely a banana is a banana?

Today (well tomorrow) is the first day of the rest of my life (again)
I joined myfitnesspal just before the New Year in 2013, I had got to a stage where I was miserable. Last year I lost 32lb. I was so proud of myself. I went from a loose 18/very tight size 16 to a nice fitting/slightly loose 14. I invested in a new wardrobe full of clothes that were bright and vibrant and even bought a…

Question for the ladies of MFP
Hi Ladies Not sure where to post this so thought chitchat was best. I came off the pill (mycrogynon 30) back in June last year. I was on it for 7 years. Over the last 8 months my cycle has been all over the place, between 23 and 33 days. Is this normal or should I go and see my doctor?

Funny supportive things people have said
My partner Chris is very supportive of my weight loss even though he loves me just the way I am. He understands my need to feel better about myself and helps me in any way he can. I see a lot of posts about unsupportive partners sabotaging weight loss efforts so I thought it would be nice to lighten it up a little bit. For…
