Calories in a banana

Can you please advise how many calories you would allocate per 100g of banana?
There is so many entries on MFP, I dont know where to start.
I dont understand why a banana from one supermarket is more calories than one from another. The calories are ranging from 85-105 calories per 100g.
Surely a banana is a banana?

When I have that issue, I google it. I find the most reputable source for actual nutritional values for food. A medium banana is about 105-110 calories, so if its smaller, go with 80-85.0

I like to double check at the USA site when there are multiple entries.0

I pick the entries without the *
Typing
"Bananas raw"
usually does the trick.0 -
Thank you ;-)0

USDA = United States Department of Agriculture
They maintain a huge database of nutritional information. MFP entries with USDA in the title are usually correct.0 -
A banana has 1 calorie per gram of weight per the USDA. So, 100 gram banana=100 calories. 127 gram banana, 127 calories0

The USDA entry has been missing from the database lately. Normally you can find it by typing "banana raw" and it'll be the one with no asterisk.
It's 89 calories per 100 grams.

I got it from an (obviously) old USDA calorie publication...time to update!0 -
Thank you all. You have been a big help. I think the last two posts proved my confusion0
