We're such a cool group. Thanks for gathering us together again, Stan. I'm reaching a bit further this month - going for 115. Good luck, y'all!

What I learned this month: 1. When it comes to a great sports bra, it is better to buy first and explain your purchase to your husband later. 2. I am capable of running 15 miles. 3. I am less capable of running 15 miles in 90 degree weather. 4. When you don't stretch your piriformis out enough between sessions, your…

hmpf. I'm always hungriest on rest days. Why oh why is that?! Cheesy chips then chocolate then potatoes then ice cream ... huh?! so yeah ... rest day for me. Back at it in the morning.

Always happiest when I'm running! Today I felt a little hotspot - can't decide if it's piriformis-need-to-stretch related -- or -- *kitten*-that's-my-hip-again stress-fracture related. Big difference.

Goal achieved! Next month, I'll try not to be late to the party.

Feeling pretty good about my splits. I died at the end and walked the last half mile - started way too late in the day. Lesson learned. I'll update my ticker when I can move again.

LOL - My immediate mental picture was me, running along dressed up like a bunch of grapes (Halloween costume) picking them off as I go ... wth ... I'm an odd person. Thanks for the encouragement - and now I have to hammer this because I'll need to report back! xoxo

I'm planning for 15 miles today and quite nervous about it. It's still 15 miles if I stop and have a banana mid-way through right?

A nice 6 miler in the woods and fields after work - was a bit spooky after work though - not used to the animal activity (noises everywhere) at that hour. Deer were everywhere in the fields, munching the farmer's crops. I thought one was going to broadside a rollerblading dude who had just zipped by me as the deer raced…

Option A, definitely. I think taking them off exposes you to way worse than wet shoes (slips, cuts, alligators and leaches ... jk). And yes - the bada$$ factor definitely comes into play. I love running through water (though it's not usually ankle-deep) during a run. Shoes and socks are made with so much mesh and whatever…

I sure hope they pick *newt* next. The newt never receives enough attention. ;)

Thx for all the great advice! Rest day for me ... literally. Sick with ... ?? Flu? Hope not. Feel like a slug. An achy slug.

Marathoners: I live an hour from my race (in November). Any issue with driving (an hour) after the run? I'm thinking about staying overnight downtown. Your experiences? :) Thanks!

Ran three miles with negative splits (by 3-4 seconds each) at 26:00 - feeling pretty happy with that!

pouring *again* - it's wearing on me

Thank you!

I never worry about that - comfort at a price you can afford comes first. What other people think is waaaaay down the list. :) I love Moving Comfort, too - need to find it on sale, though.

All this talk of dirty running clothes - but having just finished a laundry load of all running clothes, I'm thinking: is there any better feeling than having a fresh and full gym bag with choices (between virtually identical shorts and running tanks, mind you - but still, choices) and multiple pairs of matching, clean…

My sweat stains made a happy face, which did not make me happy. And my eyebrows are funny-looking. #treadmillmusings

So i draw the line at tights at the bottom of the hamper; however, my favorite sports bra - forget about it. I'm just gonna stink by the end anyway. Might as well be stinky and happy!

What's the percentage of your weekly training that should be your long run again? Sry to be lazy ... on my way now and preparing. Thx!

two-and-a-half sad, little, unmotivated miles ...

Russian massage therapist plus incoming migraine equals rest day for Leigh.

Hello peeps. My six TM miles was a total non-scale victory because I kept it under 5.5 mph like I had promised myself I wou---- oh wait, no I didn't. My fifth mile was at 6.0 because I dared my reflection. I am my own worst enemy. It was a fun mile though.
-
Yep - I agree! I would pick one to take nice and easy and enjoy the experience though - consider it a training run with a whole lot more atmosphere and swag. Otherwise, you may not be able to lower yourself onto a chair for a week. ;)

I'm feeling particularly smart tonight. I missed my outside run, so a TM would have to do. For the first quarter mile, I stared, frustrated, at my phone resting on the ledge of the TM and wondered if my new app (mapmyrun) was broken. Why wasn't it recording my distance?

Way to make a tough day into a new beginning!!
