You are right and you are burning calories with any movement. Think about it...doing laundry you are walking, lifting, bending over, possibly going up and down steps. Since most people don't do laundry every day that is a change up in your regular daily moving!

I take one day or several hours in the late evening to cook a variety of foods. Then I portion them and freeze them in zip lock freezer bags. Makes meal prep during my crazy long days quick and easy. I just grab a meal from the freezer and thaw it in the refrigerator and then it's ready to heat as soon as I get home. The…

If you have time to make your own you can cut half the calories from the bakery ones. I make a batch and then individually wrap and freeze them. That way I can treat myself once and a while without having too much sugar, fat and sodium which can be hidden in Bakery goods. There are a ton of great low cal, low fat recipes…

I'm 5'3" and carry my weight in the upper legs, and lower belly. I didn't think they were getting smaller so I changed up my exercise. Cardio 3 times a week, strength training for legs one day, and for arms a second day. One day of aerobic and one day of rest. I started taking body measurements once every three weeks. I…

That happened to me once when I went away and I really think it was all the extra sodium from Restaurant prepared meals. I could feel the sodium bloat. Within days after of drinking a lot of extra water I the extra weight was gone. I knew I had kept my calorie intake in my allotted range and though I couldn't go to the…

I have the same problem. Do to surgery I also have no lower stomach muscle anymore since it had to be removed. Since spot reducing doesn't work I think it just takes a lot longer in that area. My doctor told me that women my age tend to hold body fat the longest in that area. Oh Joy! lol I have lost so much in my upper…

I just made cole slaw today for a cook out and it is very low in calories. I hand shredded cabbage, carrots and added fresh herbs from the garden. To bind the slaw together I use plain greek yogurt, paprika, a touch of lemon juice and a touch of Worcestershire sauce. Use just enough of the wet ingredients to bind the slaw.…

That is so nice and supportive!

Welcome aboard! I found the food diary very helpful and it's great because you can add your own recipes and it breaks down the nutritional values for you. I have found that the exercise earned calories can err on the high side so I usually change the calories earned by what the machine (if at the gym) says I really earned.…
-
Even though they seem like small amounts they do add up at the end of the day. Counting your veggies also keeps track of the nutrition from them so that is just as important.
-
Congrats! I love that machine. I am sure it is what helped me take off inches from my legs.

Those "little" calories add up and the strength training is to rebuild muscle, strengthen your body and to firm. Over all health and weight loss isn't just about the calories but overall body health. I average anywhere from 85 to 165 calories burned on the days I do my strength training but my muscle tone is so much…

If you click on the cardio and look down the choices you should find strength training there. I enter my total minutes exercising and it gives you the calories burned. Then I go to exercises and click on the strength training and add my individual weight machines and then sets/reps etc. so I can keep track of what I have…

First off, your profile shows that you have lost 7 lbs so you are losing weight! :) For everyone the rate that we lose weight will be different because there are so many variables. Men lose weight much faster than women do. Our household is a perfect example of that. My partner has lost 40 lbs in the same time that it took…

They do not get notified, unless you respond to the person with a reason why. Sometimes I wish they would notify because I have only declined one person, but the guy was CREEPY, only searched out women friends, and put up some pics that told the little voice in my head that he was here for more than to lose weight. LOL

When I hit a long plateau I tried a few things and found out that with the added exercise at the gym 5 days a week, I was burning more calories and was actually eating too few calories. 1200 suggested may be too low for you. It put me into starvation mode. I upped my calorie intake a bit but made sure that I ate greens for…

Actually you are doing too many days of strength training in a row. Your muscles need a minimum of 48 hours to recover. You may benefit from doing an over all strength training routine instead of just trying to target one area. A trainer told me at my gym that targeting one area all the time does not work, but over all…

I was actually talking with my doctor about this topic a few months ago. Because of the serious side affects from most products he recommended that I do a cleanse and then after that the key would be to drink water, water, and more water. Water has really helped me tame the hunger pangs. I drink a 16 oz glass when I first…

OH my gosh you can really tell how much you have lost!!! I feel the need to "scold" you though because I don't understand at all why you would use the term "ugly" to describe yourself because you are NOT!! Look at the beautiful smile you have on your profile pic where you are holding a little girl...your daughter??? I will…

I'm so sorry to hear that you weren't showered with hugs and thumbs ups. I am holding two thumbs up for you!! That is a great accomplishment! Maybe you could find a moment to let your mom know how hard it was for you to reach that goal and it hurt your feelings a bit that she couldn't find a "cheerleading" moment. I bet if…

Welcome aboard! With the attitude you will surely be successful!! Congrats on joining here. I find it has really helped me with this long process!

Congrats!! Those milestones reached really do help with the struggle to keep going!

This may sound silly but when I hurt my knee a while back I did leg raises in the bathtub because I didn't have access to a pool! LOL It really helped. I was able to lay back in the tub and do leg raises in the water.

Lazywriter gave you some good guidelines. I also measure other areas so I have a more detailed picture of the most body mast lost. ** areas are added measurements that I take that were not mentioned: -**Neck -Bust -**Under Breast, just where the bottom of your bra would sit. -Waist (your natural waist) I measure right…

That is great! Keep up the great work! You look so much happier!

First, just wondering what "Bump" means. I have seen it on the boards but don't understand it. Please explain. As far as drinks...I make my own frappe's and fruit smoothies to use as a breakfast or lunch meal. The frappe contains Almond milk and the smoothies contain fruits and yogurt so I am getting good foods but just in…

This gets mentioned a lot but have you taken your body measurements?? I take my body measurements every three weeks and weigh myself on the scale once a week. There was a week where the scale went up 2 lbs but I had lost 6 inches overall on my body measurements. A week later those additional 2 lbs were gone plus 1 more lb…

Great suggestions offered to you so far. :) I started the same way but made a conscious decision to cut out certain foods like bread, soda (only drink it when I'm sick). I have changed to smaller portions and I actually eat all my meals now on a smaller Luncheon plate. Instead of three main meals I have more mini meals.…

I drink mine right after and make it with Silk Almond Milk- Chocolate flavor with crushed ice or frozen coffee ice cubes and blend it into a Protein Frappe. I find that it really helps muscle recovery and keeps me from having muscle soreness and charlie horses.
