  • It looks like this group has not been active for a while… But that doesn’t mean that it can’t start back up.
  • I have a Garmin Vivosmart. It does track sleep, but I have to go in and edit the entries. If I am watching TV at bedtime it thinks I am sleeping and in the morning after my alarm rings when I am 'adjusting' before getting out of bed it thinks I am still sleeping. It is interesting that it shows deep and light sleep and…
  • My goal is to really see what my normal activity level is...which isn't much except for water aerobics...and try to slowly increase it.
  • Thanks. I'm going to give the Garmin Vivoactive a try...$99.
  • Seeing a nutritionist sounds like a great idea. And you are right...one step at a time is what it is all about.
  • This is a good place to be when you need help. One day at a time. It won't happen overnight but we can do this.
  • Hi all. I'm Julia....53....single....have 100-150 to lose. I could use the support. Will you accept me? Please! Please! Please!
  • It is amazing the success you've had in such a short time. In the month that I've been doing MFP I look forward to your posts and your words of wisdom. Thank you for being a 'friend' and sharing so much of yourself with all of us.
  • Don't ask me to do something before I have my morning coffee. I love my coffee with flavored creamer. Since I track the calories I'm not drinking as many cups each day, which is a good thing...I don't need the caffeine either.
  • I can relate to so many of the other comments. Will add...worried about losing my job because who would hire me looking like I do now? Also worry about my dying younger than I should because of my weight/health. It's nice to know that you're not alone and other people in this group can relate and we can support each other…
  • Water---I don't drink as much as I should. I prefer plain but I know a lot of people that add those SF flavor packets to a bottle of water. You can try dif things to flavor your water...slice up a lemon or limes. Cucumber Water is very refreshing and good for you. Hummmm, vodka water sounds pretty good...with a splash of…
  • I'll try and add you both. Notice the word 'try'. As the weeks move on we'll learn how to use this while we're learning new healthy habits.
  • I think we wear the same shoes. I can relate to everything in your post. I'm over 300 and I went to Vegas last year. I felt that I was letting my friends down because I couldn't keep up with them. One of my friends is going to Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales in 2016. Right now I know I couldn't physically do it, so…
  • 53 year old single female living in Illinois (across the river from St. Louis). I've been up and down most of my life. On facebook a friend posted a couple photos from when we were in high school. Now, I was fat in high school. Kids can be cruel. Really, I looked at the photos and I was not fat. I can't even image being…
  • I have a friend that is planning a trip in 2016 to Ireland, London, Scotland, and Wales. I totally want to go but the last 2 years I've had some problems with my knees and legs. I've had knee surgery, but I still don't think physically I could keep up on the trip. I want to go on the trip! On the 5th they started a fitness…
  • Thanks. I would probably like the egg white omelet, but I don't think diners have turkey bacon. I don't think ham is too bad but has lots of sodium. Here is what I think the old breakfast was.... 2 eggs 120, 2 bacon 80, if I only ate one pancake 150 butter add 80 add syrup add 210. Yep, the pancakes have to go!
  • @ xx_PhoenixRis...Xx, congratulations on your success! Also, thank you for the encouragement.
  • I'd love to join you all. How do you do that? I saw another thread like this I was going to follow, but then I couldn't find it again. I need to lose 170......but 100 would be wonderful. I need the support. This year we have a fitness challenge going on at work so that is a good kickoff to me watch. And....it runs through…
  • I am currently at my highest weight ever. I could also use the support and welcome anyone adding me as a friend. My goal is to lose 100 pounds. I'm sure my doctor's goal is for me to lose closer to 170. I just delayed a doctor's appointment because I gained 14 pounds and knew he would not be happy. So, here I am, starting…
  • A wedding is great motivation for a new start to a new you. My initial kick-start is the competition at work. The winner gets 3 days off work. I also think it will help involving extra people. In 2016 I have the opportunity to go on a trip to Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales. Right now physically I could not do the…
  • With all these sites, it might take me a while to research. I glanced at Modcloth. They do have some nice looking suits. It is great to see that a company is putting out SEXY suits for the larger woman! Some of these would be great for a cruise....maybe not water aerobics at the local gym.
  • Thank you. I've not heard of these two places. I will check them out :)
  • I would track it. I eat a lot of fruit. Since I started this a couple of weeks ago I have not gone over my calorie limit....but my limit is a lot more than yours. What I have noticed though....is that I go over my sugar limit. My doctor said my sugar levels are too high. Tracking everything, including fruit, shows me how…
  • I try to do water aerobics 3-4 times a week. It is not as hard on the back and knees. If you have had back surgery or hip or knee replacement let the instructor know and they can probably tell you want you can and shouldn't do. You don't want to hurt yourself trying to improve yourself. If you can't do the exercises, or…
  • Just started and NEED to lose 130 pounds. Please add me to your group. This is my first dive in the community section of the website so hopefully I am doing it correct. It all seems to be a little overwhelming. I'm still young (52 is still young!) but my health is beginning to catch up with me. On medication for high blood…
