An idea for leafy greens like lettuce and spinach - try them shredded! I hate the 'leafy' texture of large pieces of lettuce, but shredded in a salad mixed with a bunch of other yummy things? No problem! I actually eat a large number of my meals on a bed of shredded leafy greens now.

Oh, do I ever hear you on the whining kids thing! When I'm having one of those days I make sure to stay out of the kitchen, or better yet, get out of the house entirely. More often than not we all end up in a better mood and I haven't eaten too much chocolate! If that's not possible I try to log before I mindlessly snack…

Cottage cheese, either with fruit or mixed with vegetable juice and hot sauce to make soup. Also squares of 85-90% dark chocolate. The Lindt ones are great because the squares are big and flat and I can nibble on a single piece for along time.

Melted butter on popcorn, mmmm.

Some of the other people in a Facebook group I was in decided to sign up for MFP. I'd had a few false starts previously and I have no idea why it stuck this time, but here I am 267 days later and counting! I went over my calories yesterday and looking at photos of myself before I lost the weight is helping me stay on track…

Cocoa powder is delicious in savoury foods but wouldn't protein powder be sweetened? That's the big turn-off to me. That being said, OP, if it's something you're curious to try why not go for it? I mix V8 with cottage cheese and hot sauce and many people think that's totally disgusting, but I love it :D

I know the Fitbit Flex, which I have, comes with a device you can plug into your computer's USB port for syncing. Presumably the other types come with it as well but I don't know for sure.

Wendy's chili and a small chocolate Frosty :D Don't know how 'healthy' it is but it's delicious!

My doctor recommended iron supplements taken with a vitamin C-rich food. Maybe ask your doctor what specific foods they would suggest if they don't want you taking a supplement.

I wanted a device that would count my steps and estimate my calorie burn based on that, so I got the Fitbit Flex. It does the job! As a bonus I can use it as a silent alarm in the morning.

That's what I do as well. I was disappointed with the high calories of a recipe I'd entered by giving the builder the URL until I realized it had decided 2 cloves of garlic was 800 calories...

For the most part I drink water, unsweetened tea, and coffee with one sugar and 1/4 cup milk (about 50 calories/cup if I use whole milk, 25 calories/cup if I use unsweetened almond milk). I've never been a fruit juice person but sometimes I do get vegetable juice to make 'soup' with cottage cheese. However, 2 or 3 times a…

I make my own dressing by mixing some plain yogurt, lemon juice, dijon mustard, and then dump in some dried herbs like basil and dill. It literally takes a minute, logging included, and you can just wing it to taste :)

I tend to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks, which is what works for me.

I pre-log the basics so that I can add extras like cheese on a salad as exercise calories permit.

I got a wok recently and have been making big stir fries - tons of veggies, two eggs scrambled in the wok for protein, served on rice if I have the calories for it. I'm not usually a fan of frozen veggies in anything but soup but have been enjoying frozen stir fry mixes, which cuts down on prep time. Stir fries are great…

It was lazy scrambled eggs night tonight so I had mine with leftover roasted peppers and onions, salsa, yogurt, avocado, cucumber, tomato, cheese, and lots of hot sauce. Normally I'd add lettuce too but couldn't be bothered to wash any tonight.

Feel free to add me, I stay at home with two boys, 2 and 5. Thankfully the older one is in kindergarten and the younger one still naps so I can get my exercise in during nap time! I'm down 20lbs currently and have 15 or so to go before I start working on some muscle!

That's what I had to do with chocolate when I was first learning to change my lifestyle. Now I have several bars in the pantry and they'll last me a couple of months.

I'd rather have solid food than liquid food so I just don't drink them anymore!

That was us for the first half of the week! Now it's a balmy 19F and I'm earning extra calories by pushing a stroller through the snow ;)

Bundle up in appropriate clothes and get some strap-on ice cleats and you can run/walk in the snow and ice. I feel like a total boss when I'm running on ice. Ice skating? Cross-country skiing? Downhill skiing? Ski to and from work? Shovel the driveway? Your neighbor's driveway? The whole street's driveway?

I've had my Flex for almost two years and it's been worth every penny to me. It's really gotten me moving and I find the calorie burns are accurate for me. I keep it in my pocket because I don't like wearing something on my wrist. Whether you should get one or not is a personal choice, however, as you can see from the…

Sushi, especially a great big slab of salmon and tuna sashimi <3

My husband will pick me up and carry me around the house when I'm feeling meh about my weight loss, definitely something he couldn't do before!

I lost fat in my armpits and now there's this valley I have to navigate when I shave my pits.

Liver. I was trying to up my iron intake. Even with tons of hot sauce and sauteed onions, never again.

I had an Ultimate Frisbee game last night and I usually treat myself to an Oreo Blizzard after. Instead I found myself driving home and heating up a portion of lentil and bean chilli I had in the freezer. Mixed in some yogurt and hot sauce and topped with a ton of cheese and was in heaven <3

Where I live we get pretty brutal winters so we invested in a treadmill. I go on while my kids are napping and/or at school, or early in the morning, or after they go to bed at night. I know they're not for everyone and certainly not cheap but it's been a lifesaver for me! I remember the clingy baby stage well, hope you're…

We're going out of town for a week for the holidays and I won't be tracking while we're away, but except for Christmas Day (I mean, c'mon! It's Christmas!) I'll be continuing to be aware of my food choices and portion sizes. I look at it as good practice for non-logging maintenance, which I'd like to achieve eventually :)…
