well done... it just goes to prove that changing lifestyle is more important that what you actually eat... I am so glad you enjoyed your time... this is exactly the kind of story I want for the book I am writing....

I generally plan out the meals that will be made in the week, but not necessarily when... I also try to allow for a bit of spontonatety... but it is unrealistic to say we will have fish tuesday, as we may not be in the mood for fish tuesday... wish my hubby would make more meals... lucky you

having a scale that works is a good thing, but you shouldn't really weigh more than once a week...

I cannot speak for her, but I will say that if you are basing your health on the government's BMI and not how you feel and look then there is indeed a problem. For instance... I am about 5'9.5". the government says I should way between 160 and 185... but when I was 17, I weighed 200 pounds and was indeed skin and bones…

chances are it is also in the MFP database... many restaurants are... it makes eating out that much easier

it is all about balance...sometimes I feel like I cannot eat anymore... and I will tell you when i didn't eat the calories I was allowed I wasn't losing as much because my body thought I was starving it and held on to the fat... calories and the right food combinations work it all out

I set mine to lightly active and wonder sometimes if I should set it to sedentary, but if you have lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks, you are doing just fine... you should lose between 1-3 pounds per week for sustainable loss... and don't feel guilty about feeding your body... it needs fuel. if you are hungry you should indeed eat.…

congrats... I have a dress for just that purpose hanging in my closest... I look at it every day... and I tried it on the other day, and while it doesn't go on all the way, I can get it over my legs now... so progress indeed made... congrats

my wake up call was on valentine's day 2010 when I spent the night in the ER only find out I have fibroids and weighed 387 pounds... I knew that had to change... and it has... I have lost 62 pounds, with only 75 to go to my goal weight...

the only things I know that causes the dizziness besides a center of gravity issue is a blood sugar issue or a low iron issue. I used to have dizziness but when I balanced my diet, cut out corn syrup and most synthethic crap, I haven't had a dizzy spell... good luck

great job...just try not to go too fast, as then it is easier to put back on...

first point, don't look at eating something bad as cheating, because then you will do it. Look at life as choices... I eat whatever I want, but I do so in moderation within my calorie count. I never deny my bodies cravings... If I crave chocolate, I eat it, I just limit my self to a serving or so. It has made all the…

make it a part of your life and throw away the idea of "dieting"... I eat whatever I want, but generally choose not to eat junk... but when I do, I build it into my day. Like today I am having chocolate filled crepes for dessert... yum yum... I just make sure I have enough calories left to do that... As to exercise, I only…

concern your self with two fronts... first set a goal for your net (I shoot for 1200-1500 net, meaning after exercise). Second, if hungry eat, if not don't unless your net is under 1000, then eat something for a snack... it is about balance
-
there are tons of healthy items... many salads... I would go for the salmon salad myself... it should be about 500 calories with only a bit of dressing.... (salmon is about 300 calories for 6 oz, so depending on how big a piece, might be less... most restaurants give a 3-4 oz piece on a salad) have fun

almonds and rice cages make great meals... almonds fill you up quite well and while high in calories and good fats, they are helpful in the healthy eating thing
-
yes it is the same thing... and good for you overcoming your bulemia and doing what is needed to get healthy... Bless you

I wouldn't count it... and there are plenty of alternatives to "fast food" as I did it last summer and I don't eat fast food at all... pack a cooler with veggies and get healthy snacks to put in the car... stop somewhere halfway decent for lunch or dinner and you will save money and eat healthier

I am vegetarian, my husband isn't... we make it work... I agree it is about respect, and that man had none... honor yourself and your body with your needs... his Karma will be effected by it in the end... you are in the right...

oh and olive oil is the good kind of fat - it helps with the weightloss
-
I always just put 1 tablespoon or half tablespoon, even when I know I am estimating too much... better to overestimate than under...
-
keep it up.... great job... one step at a time and you will get to your goal for sure
-
good rule of thumb... if hungry --- EAT... don't starve yourself. keep to a 1200 calorie NET, meaning after exercise. so if you "earn" 500 calories with exercise and are hungry, eat. If not hungry, that is okay, but be sure to keep your NET no lower than 1000, otherwise you will go into starvation mode and start gaining...

and yes she is right, the cutting off your eating early just creates a hurdle and sets you up for failure... posted in your other post that satisfy your bodies needs with something sweet, like fruit... shoot, I eat chocolate nearly every day... keep within my calories and am making huge progress... maybe I could do it…
-
denying the cravings is the worst thing you can do... so honor it with something small and healthy, like a piece of sweet fruit or something... then you satisfy your body's needs and your brains
-
congrats.. I cannot wait until I get to the point to walk the Komen walk again (60 miles) and actually finish... only made it about 26 miles before hurting myself last time...big milestones like this make all the hard work worth it
-
maintainence is just as important as the journey... set the calories and workouts to keep the weight and muscle within the 10 pound range you want (there will and should be fluctuation)
-
there is some truth to it, but it is not absolute... for instance for A+ it says not to eat tomatos, but I am fine with it... but on the same token it says I should eat a lot of fish and minimal chicken/beef and no pork... I have been a pecto lacto ovo vegetarian for 12+ years and it is right for me and my body.... the key…

slow and steady does indeed finish the race...
