  • I like what this person has to say about BMI. I think I can get to the top of my "healthy" BMI, but what about others, for whom this would mean absolute deprivation? Read it, and tell me what you think. http://elizabethmcclung.blogspot.com/2006/12/bmi-female-athletes-triad-eating.html
  • Starting Weight: 192 Two Weeks Ago: 167 This Week: 165 (This was my original goal:bigsmile:     .) NEW GOAL: 160 by July 30 --when I get my tubes tied!! YAY!
  • 1-Diet Dr. Pepper. 2-Find a good magazine or book and get moving! 3-Tomorrow is another day. I read the June Rolling Stone today while on the elliptical (I know, I know--I have a friend who says that is like reading while riding in a car). I burned 250 calories before I even got to the article I REALLY wanted to read.
  • The polar F6 comes with the strap!
  • Depending on the model of the equipment in the gym, your hrm will be more accurate to YOU. From what I have read, most gym machines are set to the caloric burning levels of the "average male". Whatever that is, who knows! Oh yes. And I have an F6 as well. I took it on vacation to the beach, and logged 600 calories briskly…
  • I bought mine online from Amazon. You can look at polar's at www.polarusa.com
  • You'll be okay. I am not totally sure, but I think it is more harmful to go over carbs than over protein. As well, if you are doing resistance training, you need it to build muscle. Okay, editing in this last comment: I just checked, and for the past week I have been over on protein every day but one, and I lost three…

  • Starting Weight: 192 Last Week: 170 This Week: 167 Goal: 165 NEW GOAL: 160 Don't really know if I can do it, but how do we know what we are capable of if we don't try?
  • You are welcome. Today I did 10 minutes on the Elliptical, weights (2 sets, 15 reps each, 8 different exercises), and then another 28 on the Elliptical, and I burned . . .drum roll please . . .657 calories!!! How is that for TOTAL MOTIVATION. I was NOT feeling it today, and felt completely blah, but when I see those…
  • Love my F6. The F4 is cheaper. I am not sure if the F4 has web link, but I love being able to upload the info from my watch to my computer, and to see my efforts all right there on the screen. check www.polarusa.com
  • Costco has wellements, and I like the flavor and the price. They also have some yummy recipes on their website. The butterscotch is my favorite!
  • I have been ran off the road, and had to have my brakes resurfaced, more times than I care to recall. I wish some people would just hang up their keys and call it good. I am glad you are okay.
  • Is everything set correctly? Your age, weight, etc? Have you updated it lately? Do you do the "own zone" setting? That's a real bummer. I actually hit my calorie burn goal, according to my hrm, way before the machine says I do. I listen to the hrm. Sorry.
  • Mark me down as LOVIN' my f6. What I really love is when the elliptical calorie count says 550 calories and my f6 says 600!!!
  • Wow! That is really awesome. You should feel great! Congrats!
  • I take one day off a week from everything organized or planned, like my regular workouts. If, however, I feel like a slug, I take a long walk, ride my bike, hike a mountain, something totally different from what I usually do.
  • BE PROUD! I added up the hours I worked toward my goal (MA), and my ideal job, and it really made me realize how hard I had worked. Give yourself a pat on the back. You did it!
  • Go. Let him shake and dance in the aisle beside you. BOTH of you will have an excellent time!
  • I looooove it when my efforts are recognized, and certainly yours have! Congrats!
  • I am changing my goal! I am going for Two Months (7/28) to 160!! I think I can make it.
  • borrow someone's hrm. It may just help you find out you may be working too hard.
  • I have a serious sweet tooth as well. Buy yourself some of the 100 calorie snack packs and keep them with you at all times! When you get a craving, allow yourself 1 packet, and then drink 16 ounces of water, and call it good. I think the sweets addiction is the hardest food addiction. It's the sugar/brain thing. And if…

  • Okay. I just got back from a routine check up at the internal doc's, and I had them check my weight the last time I was in there. I forgot to ask how long, but it has been a while. Buuuut. My records had my weight at 4 pounds heavier than I was when I first started paying attention!!! If I count THAT weight as my heavy…

  • Thanks. And i just got my F6 hrm and am playing around with it. Who knew that raising 3 boys (16, 11, 5) would be so taxing!
  • Begining of the Challenge: Today Last Week's Weight: 171 Today's Weight: 168.5 Lost 2.5 Unbelievable! Will you send someone to peel me off the ceiling? I am so happy.        OH, and I did a bit of math. I have lost approximately 1/3 a pound a day for every day I have…
  • Yes. Our two quarts disappeared sooo quickly. We only picked them yesterday and I think I only have about a half cup of sliced strawberries left!
  • Umm Okay. So glad you came back and told us how it went. I was veeeery curious. But. NEEEkid? Neeekid yoga? I am no prude, but I really don't want to be in a room when others are naked or nearly naked doing the poses. Hmmm. :embarassed: I want to hear how your other visits go. Please keep us posted. Do the walls stop…
  • Love em. The youngest and I just picked a couple of quarts from our backyard!
