  • Everyone hits me with the "TOO MUCH SODIUM, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" line. I just haven't noticed any negative effects for two weeks. I have been a little concerned about my sodium intake, but I drink a lot of water. Paycheck comes in Friday though, so it'll be back to regularly scheduled lunches, hehe.
  • I have no problem with how people want to live their lives, it's what makes our country great and I don't judge people.......blah, blah, blah and all that jazz. What I DO have a problem with is when her body starts to give out on her because of the path she's chosen to take, it's going to important American tax dollars and…
  • You're both very correct. I re-adjusted my profile this morning and it upped my calories to around 1,800. I have a really hard time making my calories for the day without going over in the Protein or Carb department though. Anybody else have this trouble?
  • *drink water until you can't fit anymore water in your body *daydream about being in shape one day *go on the motivation & success stories boards on MFP. That's how I got through the first two weeks Everything that we've accomplished on this board has come from being patient, being persistant and taking it one step at a…
  • I'll be trying RunKeeper as well. Thanks for everything ya'll
  • Thank you for the site. It looks a bit hard to get used to, but I'll try it for a week
  • I agree that we shouldn't become a slave to the scale, but I do appreciate the accountability in which I'm held every morning when I check the scale. I know I make healthier choices at meal time when I know I have to answer to the scale in the morning. That being said, I don't fret when I've gained 2-5 lbs from one day to…
  • This probably isn't the best, nor most healthy form of motivation, but my motivation is SWEET REVENGE!! (hehe) Long story short: It's going to be fun to see some certain faces when I reach my goal. That being said, the further I've come, the less it's been about revenge and the more it's been about just living healthy.…
  • Not lame at all! I don't have to hold in my breath to tie my shoes anymore and that was cause for me to celebrate...
  • I agree, it's hard to be hungry when you're too busy putting on a concert for nobody in your living room. Singing loudly along to the iPod is how I stopped smoking in my car, which eventually lead to me not smoking. So three cheers for music!

  • Welcome! I can tell you it only gets better from here... As a newbie, I'll let you in on the biggest secret ever. Even the diet books and tv commercials don't want you to know: CABBAGE! (wink)
  • Cabbage is the MVP of my lifestyle lately! It's so versatile, and you can help yourself to large portions because it's so low in EVERYTHING! I treat cabbage like I used to treat potatoes when I was a big fatty, fat person. There's so many ways to prepare it! If you need a quick fix to compliment a high calorie main dish,…
  • Congrats bro! Much like you, I strive to see that "1" followed by two digits on the scale.
  • I think you should take a day off and indulge, and then at the end of that day really think about if all the bad foods really made you happy and were really worth taking in.
  • My opinion is people who aren't sharing our lifestyle, or aren't as passionate about living a healthier lifestyle as we are, tend to not care about our accomplishments. It really sucks that we work very hard to lose weight and keep it off EVERYDAY, yet we don't get compliments (aka verbal rewards) EVERYDAY for our hard…
  • OH NO!! Now I feel like I'm enabling two people, haha...
