Sorry calling BS on this and any further comments about eating at a deficit.

I have noticed all your response posts in this topic. Not everyone loses at a deficit like you keep saying. Some of us have sever,y damaged metabolism a. You can say BS al, you want, but years of abusing my body with this 1200 calorie low fat diet garbage and I cannot lose at all. Deficit or not. If I eat low carb 800 cals…

Are you still using this or how did it work? Are

Curious about the people in the beggining of this thread...

I was able to maintain and keep it off with a Low Carb type diet, just cutting out sugars, breads, pastas. Turns out I was Gluten intolerant anyway, so better for me. I did find that I could not lose any other way though. So it does change things. But despite all that I am in a round now after a 1.5 year break. I…

They tested me on everything and apparently I am normal. I am gonna work on getting outside more each day......just walking my horse and dogs might help me.......I usually stay in until late afternoon when I have to feed critters, by then the sun is going down. Thank you for your condolences, I appreciate it everyone…

I see what you are saying. But I am telling you. I was stable until I would go out of town....skip meals and only eat about 1400 calories for 6 days I would leave stable and come home 4-5 lbs heavier. Get back to routine and stabilize with the 4-5 lbs still on me. Again out of town 5-6 days, left stable , eat 1500 ish cals…

You gained 15 lbs in 2 weeks? 15 x 3500 if fat = 52500 excess calories over TDEE / 14 days = 3750 daily excess calories over TDEE. Do you think there is any way possible you ate 3750 calories daily in excess of your TDEE for 2 weeks for that 15 lbs to have been fat? You were eating at 2800 according to above time-line. Are…

I started EM2WL on the Low Carb side. So I was eating between 2200 and 2800 cals a day depending. My TDEE was determined to be 2467. So really it was only changing my macros from 85% fat / 5% Carb/ 15% protein to the 40 carb/30 fat/30protein. I did not gain a pound in the first 3 weeks. Week 4 I went out out of town for 6…

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad this is working well for you!!!!! You will have those pounds down in no time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey sis! Good to see you. I will have a read and see what I come up with! I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, gonna see if I can get some blood tests tomorrow......

Clothes are super tight. Not losing inches.....just stuck. :(

That is awesome!!!!!!!!! I really have missed it. The dance I am doing is less cardio and more strength as I do alot of lifting etc...... Serious leg and core.... :)

I have been logging and like today on a ovulating day....and allergies hitting I am over my TDEE by 200 cals. but the last 2 days I was on target for cut. I have my macros pretty set, and do pretty well. I personally cannot do to much protein....hurts my kidneys... :)
-
No, I am supposed to hold steady at that calorie deficit as long as I lose...
-
WOWZERS Thanks Heybales this was awesome!!! Sticking to my 3 x a week and doing upper and lower body those days....I am doing a 200 deficit only for 2 weeks per Lucia. Then I will likely come down more. I was eating above my TDEE remember for 4 weeks by mistake, then back down to my TDEE for 2 weeks making my reset 12…

Awesome explanation! Thank you!!!!

I didn't get the kit....been stumblin through for 14 weeks with the help of vets and newbies along the way. I have been doing the neat stuff......rake my huge yard 1 time a week and ride horseback, thinking I need to walk to the mailbox and back everyday too (.25 mile 1 way)..... So the starter kit recommends the HIIT 2…

Thanks for posting GREAT INFO!!!!!!!!

heybales! Thanks for this last comment. It helped answer a question I was gonna ask later today if research on forum did not answer. Sorry back to original poster. I did a 12 week reset. I am a desk worker also. I added in 3 days a week of 10-15 min strength during my reset - (situps, pushups, squats) and sometimes these…

Ok, but I set my TDEE back to the original (before mishap) which was based off my 236 lbs. I have been eating at that for 2 weeks and stable, so today I am going to just cut down from 2467 to 2200 instead. If I ate at the TDEE from my gain (236 to 255) then I need to be eating 2300 ish cals for cut. Also I think I am gonna…
-
Did my scooby and I think I got my answer. At 236 my TDEE is the 2467cals I have been eating. The scooby thinks I should eat 1963cals for cut, But now I am dropping 200 to start. My TDEE at 255 is 2580cals, the scooby thinks at that I should be down to a 2064cals cut. Anita mentioned going down only 200......so I am…

Agreed, just the normal everyday stresses are enough thanks :p Adding chemical stresses is not needed :P

I did a 12 week, with some mishaps on the TDEE my last 4 weeks (causing an un needed 15lb gain), so I am week 2 in my TDEE cut (meaning cut back to REAL TDEE for 2 weeks), heading into a 200 cal cut next week. I am also wondering, should I gain do I go back to TDEE or lower/raise cals......will be watching this post :)
-
So helpful to me....I was wondering about the working out hard, if I actually needed to add that in to the cut amount and you just explained it perfectly, no need to, it creates the deficit!
-
UPDATE - After some thoughtful correspondence with Lucia - I was correct in the feeling that my TDEE the last 4 weeks has been too high. I began gaining and now I think...I am sure I know what happened. I will be cutting today. a small amount this week and so on! :) Thanks Lucia!!!!!!!!!!

I am part of a couple Eat the Food groups, but they are nothing like the EM2WL moderators or people. And the concepts do differ somewhat. I can still get the daily / hourly support I need, Its hard to be in the midst of a breakdown and have to weight 24-48 hours for a response on the forum :(
