4 miles of largely unsuccessful fartlek today...too slippy out to run fast!

To the OP: if you're hungry in the morning, why don't you like to eat breakfast? I'm genuinely not having a go, but if you're hungry, why not eat? What about a banana with a slice of wholemeal toast or a half-bagel? Or a banana and a cereal bar if you don't have time for toast? That must be better than a meal replacement…

Just keep running and see what happens!

Word of caution - if you get too used to running on a treadmill the first few times outside will be a shock! I could run on a treadmill for 20 minutes, then I went outside...and a couple of minutes was plenty! Now I would only use a treadmill if it was icy outside.

10.2 today - ran part of the half marathon route I'm doing in September

Hey there! 3.1 today, it's parkrun day!
-
Hmmm....calzone?

I haven't sacrificed anything! At first I calorie counted religiously and wrote everything down...there were a lot of lentils...but once I started exercising properly I found I could eat a more varied diet and still lose weight...and now I do eat what I like. However, I just can't eat the quantity of food I would once have…

Yeah, when I was starting C25K I used to get out of the house at 6am partly to get it done and partly so that people wouldn't see me panting and sweating round the village... ...but then the runs started to get longer and I would have had to get up even earlier and start the day knackered... ...and then I thought you know…

2.7 today - I only had time for a very short run before fetching the kids!
-
Hi there! 4.9 miles today incorporating my first hill repeats!
-
Great times! I'm training for my first half so you guys give me something to aim for!
-
Forgot to mention that there's a specific Couch to 5K group on here. Well done on starting running!

According to your height and weight you have a BMI of 20, which is on the low end of normal. How much weight are you planning to lose? Otherwise, sounds like low blood pressure.

I couldn't survive on 900 a day! I'm 5'2", currently maintaining after losing 3 stone. I've stopped logging what I eat and while I don't pig out, I don't deprive myself at all. I took up running and I now have to make an effort to eat more some days in order to maintain (I know, it's a hard life). As ocukor1 says, keep…

9 miles today! Yesssss!

3.1 at parkrun! I promise I will run a different distance tomorrow, honest!

A very soggy 3.1 :ohwell:

I'm with this - I find now that I just can't eat the volume I used to - but I can still eat a good amount because of all the movement! :glasses:

I'd suggest C25K followed by Bridge to 10K when you feel ready. If you have a parkrun near you they are great and generally really friendly. I did C25K last summer and I ran my first 10 mile race last month - just signed up for a half marathon eek! Good luck and happy running!
-
Another 3.1 today - wanted to go longer but delayed getting out by a fierce rain shower! Maybe tomorrow...

Hi! I've just booked my first half for 9/9 (thanks kburgess247!). I ran a 10-mile race a couple of weekends ago and came in at 1 hour 23.5 mins so would love to try for 2 hours or thereabouts. I've run the distance once on a long Sunday run, but I suspect racing it might feel a bit different! Feel free to add me if you…

Hi Cooriander! I have a feeling this month will be tricky so I am going to say 75 and do my best to break 80 again! Also my first check-in! 3.1 miles today.

Nice easy 3.1 parkrun in the sun today...and I MADE IT!
-
A very sticky 6.3 miles today! Nearly there!
-
This is a weird one...half a mile yesterday! I'm logging it because I did a team relay - 1 lap of the track practising and 1 lap in a 10K relay...and it hurt! Great experience though.

A slow puddly 6 today...

Last 5K race of the series: 3.1 miles

Try this video on good form running, I found it helpful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx6x2cD6Y8Q I also find that sometimes my arms come up a bit too much and this leads to tension: relaxing the angle a bit has really helped with shoulder aches etc. When I run and start feeling tense, I just adjust the angle down a bit…

Bridge to 10K app: 6.3 miles, 6 weeks. No problem. Happy to help :glasses:
