French?

Nice - that's usually a better indication of your body changing even if the scales are not moving as much. Where are everyone else's updates - I can't be the only one still doing this? ;-)

And keeping some variety so you don't get bored eating the same things all the time. It's a challenge for sure.

The % could be lower because your other items are higher e.g. Carbs? Maybe try reducing carbs and increasing Proteins to get a better balance? Also just took this from another post I just saw as sources: Pinto beans, black beans, kidney beans, lentils, split peas, or garbanzo beans •Nuts and seeds, including almonds,…

So I am not a veggie so can't help too much for sources as I rely upon fish and meat. However other sources like Greek Yoghurt, Nuts, some types of bread (careful with the carbs though), no-fat milk are good options I find. You could if you want supplement using Protein Shakes but the more you can get from real food the…

Great to see renewed energy and enthusiasm. You can do it Aditi.
-
Loving it. If my gym did Combat I'd definitely do it. They do Les Mills Pump at the gym so I will start those classes when I'm done with this round of Combat and do Combat in the in-between days.
-
Welcome Amit. You can do it.
-
Ahhh there you are Aditi - I wondered where you'd after being the one who started this thread. Welcome back.
-
Yup - my wife and I are signed up for the London one. Should be a lot of fun.
-
Welcome Sajna - you've made a great start losing 12Kg already so well done.
-
Yes indeed. Weight alone is not the ultimate measurement - I actually prefer to track BF% to get a more accurate picture of what is going on. Its harder to predict and set a goal so I will continue to track my trend weight. Those are great NSVs Advi.
-
Good to see people continuing with this. Let's really push to try and reach our goals this month (in a healthy way).

You definitely look leaner now so despite seeing no changes on the scale or measurements I see a difference. I reckon your body fat% is lower now and you've dropped fat and gained lean mass. Great job!

Welcome Sajna. Sure you can use whichever day suits you. Congrats Kendra.

How many calories in Horse? ;-)
-
500 calorie deficit is fine and I wouldn't expect that to cause starvation mode. Maybe try cutting 10% of your carbs and see what difference this makes after a week or two. As Kendra says - don't do to many things at once.
-
Firstly thanks Greeshu - it's slow but the weight is coming off. Advi - without being able to see your diary it's difficult to say. Here are some possible explanations in addition to yours: 1. The deficit between calorie burn and calorie intake is too much and your body is holding on to the fat. 2. Your body weight…

Bump

Go you!! I'm still working my way up to being fitter to be able to handle it. Currently in week 3 of Les Mills Combat.
-
No problem Greeshmaa. Advi - if your scales measure body fat% you can enter the data into trendweight.com and it will work out your lean mass, fat mass etc so it might help.
-
Folks - I'm adjusting my numbers because I'm using a different method to track my weight (trendweight.com) which tracks the overall trend rather than what the scale says on a particular day. I like this because of the natural fluctuations we all have each day and so the trend weight is a more accurate picture of what's…

Fantastic story Rose and really inspirational. Congratulations and very well done on your success - thanks for posting this!

Oh you got that right Kendra. It also goes hand-in-hand with ingredients in food done through guessing and tasting. I haven't yet take it to this level but when eating curries I have no clue if the serving I'm having is too much, too little - it's just guesswork too. I'm sure I over did it the other day with the Chicken…

Totally agree. Do it for yourself - if other people notice your progress and say positive things those are the good people. Ignore the people pointing out weight gain. I've had this same issue for a few years but then I had been increasing more than I had realised. Glad I'm on the right path now and don't want to go back…
