  • Eating more fresh foods and fewer processed foods (and thus less sodium.) I noticed a difference with this fairly quickly when the puffiness in my face went down. I did not realize it was from too much sodium, causing the area around my eyes to be puffy. Now I feel like I look younger because the area around my eyes is not…
  • malted milk ball eggs.....MMMMMM
  • I love the Healthy Choice frozen greek yogurt cups. The caramel swirl is my favorite. I have a bunch in my freezer for whenver I want a tasty dessert. They are portion controlled, so I don't have to worry about the danger of eating a half gallon of ice cream. :) I also have the ghiradelli dark chocolate squares.
  • I have been here since Jan. 14 and I have lost a pound a week consistently and I am 52 and post menopausal. My calorie goal was around 1350 to start with, now 1290 as I have lost weight. I stick to that goal and I exercise about 5 days a week, cardio and some light weight. I do run walking and I just started going back to…
  • Thanks for sharing, mart. You look great! You have done amazing work, and you are one of my most inspirational friends. So glad to have met you. :)
  • I see that you live in Illinois. It may be harder to find fresh seafood in the Midwest. I grew up there. Go to a good grocery store, or a fish market if there is one near you, and ask them where they get their seafood and if it has ever been frozen.
  • Tilapia, flounder and grouper are mild fish with a light, flaky texture. They are good broiled with some lemon or seasonings or with a light crust of bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. They don't have a "fishy" taste, I think. The important thing about seafood is to get it fresh, never frozen. As with most things, it's…
  • Usually in the evenings around 7, before dinner on weeekdays, but on weekends whenever it works. An afternoon or evening work out is fine if that's what works for you. I've never been an early morning exerciser, either. Don't think it matters.
  • I feed a family of for for an average of $150 to $200 a week, sometimes a little more when we have seafood. Cost has not gone up significantly since we started eating healthier, since our diet isn't that different -- I'm just eating less of things I used to eat more of, and in particular eating less junk. Food prices can…
  • right now I eat Ghiradelli dark chocolate squares. Usually one is enough. With dark chocolate it's easier to satisfy my craving than milk chocolate. They are yummy and come in lots of different varieties.
  • I loved all cereal growing up and pretty much still do. Quisp -- they don't make this anymore but it was little saucers Apple Jacks Fruit Loops Honeycomb Cocoa Krispies Frosted Flakes Corn Pops - they used to call this Sugar Pops and changed the name ETA: also something called Honey Grahams or something like that ....…
  • You're not the only one. I have two teens, 15 yo DD and 18 yo DS and it's been interesting. My daughter lost about 20 pounds two years ago when she was 14. She was a little pudgy, but not seriously overweight. She just started cutting back on junk food AND she started running every day and lost the weight in about five…
  • I've had people on this site try to sell me stuff. When I realized what they were doing, I deleted them from my FL. I came her to get healthy and fit, not to be part of someone's marketing audience. I don't need that stuff to get where I'm going. There are other healthy ways to do it that are free.
  • Bagels soft dinner rolls soft, chewy pizza crust English muffin with strawberry jam French toast umm...I see a trend here...:) I love carbs. I still love them.
  • I am on day 80 - I log in every day. You can add me.
  • I read a news article in our community about 10 years ago where a woman was having a hysterectomy and they did not find out she was pregnant until the hysterectomy was in progress. The baby died, and she was around 5 months along. The doctor did not do a pregnancy test before the hysterectomy, and the patient sued the…
  • I would just go and practice moderation. Enjoy some treats, but don't stuff yourself, and do active things, if you stay active it will make a difference. I went to Italy a few years ago and we ate Italian food and drank wine all through the trip, but we walked so much every single day that I actually ended up losing weight…
  • Thank you! Those are great idea, too, love the veggie breakfast, I will do that.
  • Name: Jennifer Location: South Carolina What you had for lunch: Pita bread with sliced chicken and spinach, raw carrots with hummus, banana.
  • I think I've been in a food rut. These ideas are going to help me spice things up. Thank you, and keep them coming, I am going to try them!
  • These are all great ideas, thank you so much!!! I am going to print all of them out. I haven't tried kale, but again, I'm open to anything, and I'm really not picky. I do like squash, too, but for some reason we just never seem to cook it. Have to get that on the menu. I LOVE collard greens -- strange, the only time we…
  • This sounds YUMMY!!!! Thanks, I will absolutely be trying that.
  • I don't usually eat avocados. But I'm not a picky eater. Do you just eat them raw or how do you prepare them? I have read about the green smoothies but have not tried them. Guess I'll have to give it a go.
  • I work out both places, home and gym. I feel like I'm more motivated at the gym because there are other people working out. I feel like I tend to work harder. And I enjoy it more, because it's social. But if it's late or I can't get to the gym, it's good to have the opp to work out at home. I have an elliptical trainer…
  • I laughed out loud when I read this comment. Cracked me up. I can't BELIEVE someone would be so rude to say something like that to someone who is losing weight!
  • have you been logging your food intake here? You've been a member for quite a while. You just have to eat less than you burn. Use the tools here or on another site to figure out what your intake should be, and consistently eat less than that. I've lost 12 pounds here in the last 12 weeks, and I'm 52. I've lost weight every…
  • What do you want to eat? I wouldn't worry about being over on protein, I am some days and that's ok, and I think it's OK to go over on sugars when a good bit of it is natural sugars like from fruits. Peanut butter and banana? Some nuts? Cheese?
  • bump for ideas

  • Yes And when they start screaming, or you want to spank them, please take them out of earshot so we don't have to listen to the tantrum.
  • Healthy Choice frozen greek yogurt. Comes in portion packages, 3 tubs to a package, 100 or 110 calories each. Yummy!!!! I like skinny cow chocolates, too. 100-calorie packages of chocolate-covered pretzels or cookies. Pepperidge Farm very thin wheat bread with a tablespoon of real fruit strawberry jam.
