I was definitely hoping they would... but they've been known to blow big leads, especially toward the last few innings - so it was still a bit tense for me!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching that game! :drinker: Now they just need to sweep the series! Sure do love me my Giants.

Awww, I thought this was a post about cooking your MFP friends. :drinker:

Made it to level 8 yesterday (and now up to level 9). Definitely got some new items in the store and new bosses at level 8. I wish they'd make it so you could repeat quests daily, or would get new ones on the list (so far nothing new has shown up) - I did almost all of them on the first day and so now I'm only left with…

I LOVE my Fitbit Zip! I'm a super numbers-oriented person, and I love the charts and graphs I get with being a Fitbit user. I've gone from walking ~2000 steps/day when I first got it to regularly getting 15-20,000 or more. I also love anything that can turn exercising into something more fun (like Zombies, Run!... which I…

I'm a big fan of Carl Sagan: “For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.” ― Carl Sagan “Who is more humble? The scientist who looks at the universe with an open mind and accepts whatever the universe has to teach us, or somebody who says…

Ha, no, I didn't battle you - I picked a friend on my list who was at the same level as me... I figured I should at least make it a good fight! When you get the notification that someone wants to have a battle, does it at least tell you what their level is? Seems like it should, so you can decide if think you have…

Made it to Level 6 last night, and had my first friend battle, which I won! :drinker:

I'm usually between 15,000 and 20,000 a day. On a lazier day I'm usually around 12,000. On a good day I'm around 22,000.

I agree with preferring the vegetarian alternatives that don't try to be meat - like black bean burgers, or having baked tofu instead of fake meat slices on sandwiches. I like the taste of those 137% more than fake meat. However, I do sometimes eat those meat alternatives mainly because they tend to be ridiculously…

Just downloaded this morning! Username: redwoodkestrel Currently a Level 5 Shadow Elf.
-
I sent a friend request a bit ago - it says it's pending right now. Just changed my name to redwoodkestrel - hopefully you'll see my request! :drinker:
-
Ah, okay, I guess it's time to change my name to redwoodkestrel. Now to see if I can actually do that without having to re-do everything. I mean, I only signed up a couple hours ago, but I don't want to lose all the work I've already done!
-
I think I found you - the username shows up as SuperVixen2 for me, level 1 Dwarf King.
-
Boo, wrong kestrel, I'm a Level 5 something... whatever the one to pick for runners is.
-
Hmmm, apparently there are a couple kestrels as well. My name is all lowercase, and it's the same photo as the one I have here.
-
Username kestrel. Just got this app, still figuring it all out! But I'd be happy to have some folks to figure it out with!

It also takes about a week for your Fitbit to get a feel for you and your day-to-day activity level. I know with mine, in the beginning, I would get very different calorie allotments for the day from it vs. MFP. But once it got to "know" me, it evened out and now the calories between it and MFP are much more aligned. ALSO:…

Oh yeah, SETI@home is still going strong! Nice way to use your computer's power when you're not using it. But now there are even cooler (imo) computer-based citizen science projects, like everything that Zooniverse does. And the scientific results that have been produced through this type of crowd sourcing are AMAZING!…

HI all, I'm nerdy on the more science-side of things. Marine biologist by training, I do that and also am heavily involved in citizen science - involving the public in helping with real scientific research. All about apps for doing science, crowd sourcing, eco-drones, bioblitzes, etc. Total mad scientist style. :drinker:…

I totally feel you. If I'm heading to the coffee shop in the morning it's *so hard* to not also grab a pastry to eat... that was my morning breakfast routine for years, and there's something so delicious about the coffee with the sweetness of the pastry. I know I can tell myself that I just don't need it/shouldn't have it,…

Were you adding in your exercise to MFP before? And eating those calories back (or some of them back)? Because now, with the Fitbit, any step-based activity will be tracked through it and automatically added to MFP, so you won't need to add them in yourself. In which case, it's pretty much the same as before, except that…

I started the C25k program when I was close to 300 lbs, running in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, after work... which is when EVERYONE (or so it seems!) chooses to run. I was definitely feeling very self-conscious and nervous about it. But you know what? I got not a single comment or judgmental look, even with all the…

We were at Antelope Lake, southwest of Susanville, northeast of Taylorsville. Generally just hiked the forest service roads up into the hills around the lake, and around the lake itself. Love it up there!

Just got back from 6 days of camping at a lake in the Plumas National Forest. Spent every day kayaking, swimming, exploring, and geocaching. It's one of the most lovely and relaxing places I know! The puppy was happy to help find a geocache!

Ha, my boyfriend doesn't like running either, but of course I enjoy the two of us going to work out together, so I often compromise and go on walks with him, and run on my own at different times. So yesterday when he wanted us to go for a walk, I put my Zombies, Run! episode on my phone without headphones and turned up the…
