  • Thanks, I didn't know there was long distance runners group. Also, thanks for other comments.....yes, I do put in lots of long slow runs....at least one long run on the weekends. And I try to do speed stuff twice a week....and try to do hill work once per week too. Thinking I might be overdoing it.

  • When the doctor put "obese" on my chart after a physical. Lost close to 80 pounds and got that off my record !!!!!
  • Ran first half in March2014 weighed about 180lbs finished in 1:43.....ran another one 2 weeks later and finished in 1:41. I have been running for about a year now.   • Yes, you can do it. I started running last May at age 53.......first day was walk/run for 10 minutes. I ran a marathon last November, run 45-50 miles a week now. Lost 77 pounds. Feel great. No issues with knees or muscles.....got to start slow and build it up. Everyone is different. Good luck!!!!
