Going to hijack this thread a moment... IMPE, you are correct. Until 18, I ate a heavy fat diet with a lot of raw dairy and very little sugar, as my mother dislikes sweet flavours. I rode my bike an hour a day and lifted heavy weights 3x a week. I joined the military, at a typical american diet for many years, and had 2…

Love my morning coffee with 4 tbs of heavy cream, 1 tbs of unsalted butter and (guilty pleasure) 2 tbs of coffee mate creme brulee! Tonight I will be adding it to my tea, as I believe I will be a bit short of my fat macro.
-
The coffee...unsalted of course!

One cup, every day. 8 oz coffee, 3 tbsp heavy cream, 3 tbsp coffee mate creme brulee, 1 tbsp butter. That and 2 scrambled eggs is my breakfast.

Cheers Dan! Feels good when your liver is healing, doesn't it. OKOK, I'll go get mine done again.

Short answer: yes. I think the best dieting advice I ever received was "Eat for the weight you want to be. It will come off slower but is more likely to stay off."

My current fav is Lipton Green Tea with Orange Passionfruit & Jasmine flavours

Loose tea is very hard to cold brew. Personally, I drink a couple quarts of plain iced tea myself daily. Sometimes black, sometimes green, sometimes white. Always after 3 pm tho I switch to decaf. Green tea has almost no calories, just like black or white. What you are seeing are the sugared things. You might try one of…

What I did probably wouldn't work for you. I told hubs he could either eat what I cooked or cook himself. Actually was a win-win. He cooks more, and is eating somewhat healthier.

Dan, the Metformin limit is 2500 mg daily. I was just able to back off of that to 2000 last month!
-
Personally I just added it, and the amount of insulin I use, in the same place I put measurements.
-
For me...After 3 weeks back on low carb I was able to drop my insulin from 50 units to 30. I tried 20 the other night and my body isnt ready yet.

Unless they've never known what it's like not to feel the way they do. They might well take it for granted that that's their normal. Or sure, they may wonder, "why do I feel so bad", but find themselves told "hey, you're good, see look at these numbers [perhaps not the relevant ones], it's all in your head".
That's…

So you're saying that I can eat 2000 calories worth of fish, fried in fat if I wanted to and I'll lose weight?
no, I think she is saying that your diet is composed of such a high fat% that you are satiated by eating less… at least that is my understanding….
Correct. I have done both ways, extreme low fat…

I cannot take melatonin as it interferes with my SSRI (fluoxetine).

LC has had the opposite effect on my digestive system. If I eat sugar, breads, potatoes or pastas, or junk food in general, I get gas. Without them, I don't. I also take a high quality probiotic 2x a day, as I heard somewhere that it helps. Anyway, it hasn't hurt! o:)

Reasons I count: 1) I eat the number of calories for the weight I want to be. If I exercise, I eat more, but I still have to be careful because I get REALLY hungry after exercise. 2) I'm OCD and a data analyst. Counting keeps me mindful and on track. 3) My body's satiety signaling system is still messed up. If I don't…

Yes, and it's even harder because I quit smoking almost 2 years ago. Usually I want something crunchy or salty to chew on, so I go get dill pickle slices. Jerky also helps with the need to chew on something salty (for me).

That's my inspiration pic, not me as I am now :) But thank you for the compliment. I am still 100 pounds heavier than in that photo. LCHF is working again, as my BG numbers just dropped into the 120s this week, from a high of 190s 2 months ago.

Not really. A lot of us believe in strength/resistance training to maintain or increase muscle mass.

Great job! I took mine from 11.9 to 5.6...then stopped and now its back over 9 :(
-
Yes, its quite the adjustment to your thinking. I've been there done that. See that photo to the left? I grew up on raw milk, butter, cream, lard, cheese, avacados. I was strength training at the time as well, 3 days a week. I'm 5' 9" and in that photo I weighed 159 pounds with a 25" waist. Fast forward 3 years. The new…

filipendulous MEANING: adjective: Hanging by a thread. ETYMOLOGY: From Latin filum (thread) + pendere (to hang). Ultimately from the Indo-European root (s)pen- (to draw, to spin), which is also the source of pendulum, spider, pound, pansy, pendant, ponder, appendix, penthouse, depend, and spontaneous. Earliest documented…

I have gotten rid of my largest, the 26s, 28s and 30s, last year but I still have full sets, all seasons, in 16-22. Hubs says I have 16 boxes of clothes in the spare room and attic, plus 3 smallish closets full. I'm working hard this summer to make sure the size 20-24 all get too big and get donated.

*sigh*

Mine is set up to accept both. Drives my friends nuts that I am fluent in both ;-)
