  • I agree with everyone here. It could be the combination of things. One is the instant potatoes, on the average a regular serving (150 grams) of instant potatoes has a glycemic index of 87 and a glycemic load of 17. The glycemic number (index and load) generally tells you how that food affects blood sugar and insulin…
  • First OP it's really hard to give you accurate advice when no one really knows what your issue is here? If you are meaning that you can't find enough time in a day to consume an adequate amount of calories, then it would lead me to believe you are trying to live off of just veggies and fruit, because in 24 hrs rather busy…
  • Right there with you all. I've been on MFP over 2 years now, but didn't become really dedicated until August. Since then I've logged everyday. I'm coming up on four months in and down 25 lbs. Was hoping for more, but I'm satisfied with what I've accomplished so far and the most amazing of that is the stamina to keep going…
  • In my Biology class I learned a lot about the human body and it's properties, and the three essentials are proteins, carbs, and fat so I stick to a diet rich in those three things. I try to for or below my target goal in each area and so far so good. I seldom sweat my sugar and sodium intake.
  • Hi There. Develop a plan and stick with it Weigh and log everything you eat and drink (buy a food scale, it's the best way to measure) Make friends ( there are wonderful people on here and they aim in keeping you motivated) Eat in moderation (learn about serving sizes) Stay Positive (even when you don't see a change)…
  • It doesn't matter how you approach your weight loss journey, the bottom line is you put a plan in action to start a journey to a new and healthier you and that my dear is a great accomplishment. I too am 35 year old mother, I work full time and go to school so I lived off of fast food, as it was always just easier for me.…
  • Amazing, you look absolutely wonderful and not a day over 40. Congrats!!
  • I'm in agreeance with everyone else. The only bad food is food that's contaminated, spoiled, or will have a serious medical effect on your body (i.e. allergic reaction). The only thing you need to remember when it comes to the food you eat is "moderation". As long as you don't overdo it you can pretty much eat what you…
  • looking good, wtg!!!!!!! sent you a friend request :)
  • Definitely a change. skin looks so much better.
  • I have always wanted to go skydiving and guess what, I am detrimentally afraid of heights. Maybe I will take your advice - no excuse - and just do it :s
  • I've always hated the way my arms looked and constantly covered them by wearing a jacket all the time, well this weekend I took a real good look and my arms have gotten much smaller and less flabby........Loving it!!!!!!
  • Welcome!!! MFP is a wonderful site and the people here are very helpful and encouraging. I sit at a desk all day too (HR) but I make time for exercise in and out of work. Usually stand and do some squats or chair exercises. after work I walk, usually for 30-60 mins. You can do it!!!!!
  • Great Job, you look amazing!!!!!! why would you not be excited about what you've accomplished?? you have won a war that is very hard to win, you stayed in the battle and won the victory and you're still fighting today when you could have just given up and surrendered. That, my dear, in itself is something to be ecstatic…
  • I would ask her to take a good look into her calorie intake. She could be underestimating or overestimating what she consumes. weighing her food on a scale is much better than using measuring cups as we tend to measure incorrectly. Also eating too few calories, especially with the level of physical activity she is doing…
  • Way to go!!!!
  • I never really had an ah-ha moment. Something just clicked in me one day that I'm tired of the way I look, tired of feeling exhausted all the time. So I decided to re-vamp the way I see weight loss, and the first was to take a good look at what I was eating. I decided to eliminate fast food, soda, and minimize as much as…
  • Amazing job!!! I too hate running and have not incorporated it into my walks but I do believe I could come to enjoy it. I'm am curious though, what were the tips Steve gave you to make it fun???
  • Great Job. definitely a change there :)
  • 1. Lacking energy - I was so tired and exhausted all the time even when I got more than an adequate amount of sleep 2. Wanting to be more active with my children 3. Tired of shopping in the plus size section 4. Not wanting to resort to the health issues my mom is now facing, which is a long list of conditions including…
  • Great Job!!!! such an inspiration. I look forward to reaching my goal and it's success stories like yours that keep me more determined than ever to succeed. One of the things I worried about was loosing my bum if I lost the weight, love my *kitten*, it's one of my best assets....LoL. happy to see I can achieve weight loss…
  • Such inspiration. I myself started my own 30 day challenge yesterday doing exactly the same thing (no soda, no fast food, min. processed foods). seeing you were able to complete your challenged has motivated me even more than before. Thanx
  • Absoultely amazing!!! What a difference 50 lbs can make. Keep up the great work.
  • It could be that it just hasn't caught up to you yet. You said you just started eating that way again, exactly how long has it been(a day, couple days, week, couple weeks)? I went a period where I was eating McD every day for about a week and I still lost at the end of the week, however that next weigh in the following…
  • I'm not a doctor and neither is most of the people on here so if your experiencing severe pain then speaking more with a doctor(preferably a cardiologist) is idea. However you may be experiencing something similar to what I went through. I am not an active runner and have not been since a teenager, so when I started…

  • Welcome and great post. Such good advice that needs to be taken to heed. Thanks for your service to our country as well. You Rock!!!!
  • I agree with above post. If you've been at the same weight for the past 4 years you've been on it then what good is it really doing you. I love MFP and have actually had more success with it than any other time in my life that I've tried losing the weight. For once I really believe that I can do this and you can too. There…
  • I'm happy you posted this because I've actually thought about utilizing this method during the holidays and my cheat day which is usually every Saturday, but never knew it was an actual way of eating. I don't think I can sustain it on an everyday basis, however. I think whatever works best for you is what you should do.…
  • You look absolutely amazing!!!!!! You've given me such inspiration to keep going. I have a long way to go, but seeing your pics make me that much more determined to do this. Thanks so much for sharing :flowerforyou:
  • My thoughts exactly. It's like my saying, "It's time we stop making excuses for not doing what needs to be done, but rather doing what needs to be done because there is no excuse not to". I think OP understands certain health situations do arise in ones life, as well as problems with relatives, but in general we do embark…
